I love helping newcomers. Inbox me if you are new to swapbot and would like to do a trade.
I am wife to a stay at home Dad. We have 4 children, 2 boys and 2 girls. The older 3, DD 23, DD 21, and DS 19 are all away at college. We are very proud of them! The little one, DS 17-Yona is staying with his ailing grandpa. I've taken up a few hobbies to while away the time and also work as a caregiver. I write. I am a biographer and genealogist. The pay is good when I can get work and I get paid to have people tell me stories! Its by far the best job EVER! I help run Write Rotation which is volunteer work. I especially love the story round robins.
My home: I love my little house across the street from Woodland Park. Our park has an artesian well. Its so beautiful! My living room is all about travel. My postcard collages and paintings are all over the walls. My dining room has been turned into a game room and the wall paper is deck build inserts from Magic the Gathering decks. My husband's Kitchen is sunflowers. The hall is blue and family pictures. My bathroom is kokopeli. My bedroom is sand and brown shades. My craft room is still decorated with my son's art that he left up when he moved away for college. Notice the whole house is mine except the kitchen. LOL I also love my community. Surrounded by big city and major highways, including interstates, our little town still keeps its hometown feel. We take pride in putting UNITY in community. I can walk to several local farms and ranches, including Eden's, where I am part of the CSA-Community Supported Agriculture. We basically buy a share of the farm and get a share of the crops. This year, we even get honey!
I love: leather work including bookmarks, embroidery and I am always looking for new creative outlets.
I am learning how to cook and how to quilt. I hate the sewing machine so far. It and the stove are in cahoots to maim me or maybe worse.... Still occasionally try using the sewing machine, but with the fight it puts up, its faster to do it all by hand. I welcome any advice! I am a beginner. I am having a blast learning anyway! My training as a child from my grandmother in embroidery has really come in handy to hide my quilting novice. My current quilt project will be sold or raffled to raise money for Relay for Life with all the money going to The American Cancer Society. I walked Relay for life in Mesquite on Team Balch Springs Arts Alliance on May 13, 2011 and plan to walk again next year. If you swap Quilt Squares with me, please include a short note with it letting us know how you or your loved one were effected by Cancer. We will buy luminaries and decorate them with the notes! info about Relay for Life I need quilt squares (currently pinwheel, but planning others, so really any) and cancer survivor/remembrance stories. I love quilt scraps to use in crazy quilts...also any ribbon or decoration for them.
I am making Friendship books for anyone who wants me to and passing them on through trades and my penpals. PM me if you'd like me to make one for you. I'm not very artistic or crafty. See samples of one I did in my flickr.
Fave color: Hunter Green Fave flower: sunflower
I love memoirs. I am a biographer by trade and would love to receive more stories! Technically, a memoir is one story. (memoirs plural is a collection of these) Its like getting a piece of someone's life. Tell me one of your stories.
pretty paper to write my pen pals
Magic the gathering deck inserts and deck build poster that I use them for decorating our game room which Looks awesome!
Maps which I just adore
Artist Trading Cards. I can't make them, but I love them.
Favorite themes: Monkeys, sunflowers, spiders, quills (like the old fashioned feather pens), world travel, anything Native American, especially Cherokee and Sioux.
I have been collecting postcards since I was 5. I love postcards with tourist stuff on em-place name and such. Currently working on an art project with my Post cards and have started swapping post cards with people from around the world. Right now, I'm working on getting 1 postcard with each US state written on the front for a wall art project. state checklist for PCs

I love romance, but I read anything and everything. I average 1 book a day. My favorite books are Romance, Intrigue, fantasy, and mysteries. Specific books: his majesty's dragon, Ender series, water for elephants, The promise, Texas series, Indian in the cupboard series, HP1-7, Twilight. So many more, but none come to mind.
I will never join a swap I don't already have the money in my pocketbook for. If I join a swap and drop before partners are assigned, I had to use the money for something else, please allow me to join the next round. I will never not send. As soon as partners are assigned, I send.
Also, please please please tell me if you do not receive a swap/tag from me. I do not mind resending. Also, if I don't rate you for a swap, bring it to my attention. Also, if you receive a swap from me 2xs, just smile and giggle. I either forgot I sent it or I didn't trust my mail carrier at that point. :D
email trades I have come to enjoy email trades as well as the post ones. I have found lots of fun movies and books through the email trades. Read the entire Twilight saga cause it was on so many people's lists. Really enjoyed it! Saw Kate and Leopold because of one list. :D I don't expect those trades to be considered when I ask to join a swap. I just enjoy them.
food or drinks of any kind. Sorry, but I have so many allergies, I don't dare eat anything that I don't know exactly what's in it. My allergy list includes Milk, eggs, fish, rye, mustard, and strawberries. I'm diabetic, which limits sugar. I also have food triggered migraines. Triggers include garlic, nuts, MSG, too much or too little caffeine, preservatives, artificial sweeteners, and some I haven't figured out yet what's causing it. I am also very sensitive to pesticides. So you see what I mean. Food's not really safe.
I've added to the food fun by adding my friend's diet restrictions to mine. We are both adjusting our diets to see how the other one eats in addition to keeping with our own restrictions. I simply am adding Kosher (starting Sept 1) to my restrictions. Poor girl has to add ALL mine to hers! hahahaha I have the better end of it.
Soon to come....
