ATTENTION:
(10/31/11) Life has been a series of ups and downs this year .... just in the past six months, I've been in the hospital; moved to a new house with my husband and our little Yorkie; launched a (successfully funded) Kickstarter project; been laid off; went on a fun-but-intense, 5-week trip/book-writing adventure (this was part of the Kickstarter project); then (on October 27) my husband and I unexpectedly had to put our Yorkie down after we learned she was in advanced kidney failure. :(
I need to get my financial situation under better control before I can promise that I will take care of any unresolved swaps -- meanwhile, I can at least promise that I won't sign up for new swaps (or try to fool the community with some second account) until I take care of unresolved ones!
Thanks for understanding!

(7/6/11) I'm recovering nicely from my unexpected 11-day hospital stay in May/June, although it took some time to get back into the swing of things! I have communicated with all my swap partners about any potential late swaps. If I for some reason missed you, PLEASE let me know and I will rectify as soon as I hear from you!!

Hello! I am a 32-year-old radio show host, breast cancer survivor, avid traveler, and certified "mail geek." :-)
Speaking of mail, here's some information that will hopefully give you an idea of who I am, should you happen to be assigned my name in a swap!
Interests:
Music, travel (especially train travel), dogs, pop culture, writing, secondhand shops, old and independent movies, pen palling, scrapbooking, reading (mostly nonfiction), volunteering, learning, collecting various random things, the 1960's, New York City, Norway
(to name a few...)
Stuff I collect:
Stamps, postcards, stickers, "old school" Strawberry Shortcake, pendants, charms, scarves, tote bags, scrapbooking material, cheap DVD's.
I also love:
Sunflowers, butterflies, rainbows, ducks (and other birds), dolphins, fish, ladybugs, frogs, turtles, Yorkies, poodles, cupcakes, daisies, unicorns, strawberries, sunshine, angels, trains, books, Disney comics from Europe, holidays, paraben-free lotion and cosmetics, boots, ballet flats, beads, necklaces, anything VINTAGE!
Favorite colors:
Purple (mostly dark or medium shades), silver, black, cranberry, avocado green, orange, turquoise, mint, blue, gray ... yellow and pink in smaller doses. Really, I love all colors!
Favorite characters or pop culture icons:
Peanuts (especially Snoopy and Woodstock), Donald Duck, Hello Kitty, old school Stawberry Shortcake, Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Beatles, casts/characters from the TV shows in my "guilty pleasure" list (see below).
Guilty pleasures:
The Brady Bunch, Little House on the Prairie, Beverly Hills 90210, Degrassi (old and new), YA novels of the '80's, PEOPLE and other celebrity gossip magazines.
Coupon/Gift Card Wish Lists:
Any organic or reasonably healthy foods; low-fat and/or soy free ice cream; candy bars (okay, so I don't always eat healthy! :]); paper towels; toilet paper; laundry detergent; soap; toothpaste; toothbrushes; deodorant; products from Burt's Bees, Yes to Carrots, Kiss My Face, or Aveeno; hand sanitizer; coffee; tea; ibuprofen.
Any gift card, or any coupon specific to the above list from: Target; Trader Joe's; Safeway; Starbucks; Jo Ann's; World Market; Amazon; iTunes, Big Lots, Walgreen's.
Please do not send:
Anything with wizards, warriors, or vampires (just not interested); baby or kid stuff (I don't have kids); anything obviously dirty (no explanation needed!); or old food (I'm pretty picky about this. Food is sometimes okay, but preferably it will have a "best sold by" date at least a couple of weeks into the future. No homemade treats, please, and NO EXPIRED FOOD!)
P.S.:
I'm interested in (but new to) ATCs, FBs, and journaling. If I participate in these swaps, I promise I will give my best effort, but please bear in mind that I'm still a beginner. :-)
