About Me

I’m a proud latina mother, hippie chic, beatnick queen. I like to defy authority. I love nature. I love all things vintage. I love to create; to work with my hands, and make art of all kinds. I’m superstitious. I love art and handmade things. I knit and crochet. I have waaay too much yarn in my closet. I love music. What kind of music? Well mainly old (pre 1950s) jazz, classic rock and folk, and classic punk. I like some modern rock like the White Stripes. I love Bob Marley. I collect old vintage records.

Favorite Music

Grateful Dead, Tom Petty, Fats Waller, Cab Calloway, Bessie Smith, The Clash, Dance Hall Crashers, The Specials

Things I like

Anything earth toned is awesome. I love catholic, pagan, hindu and buddhist imagery. I collect religious dieties. I love Mexican and Indian folk art. I collect Mexican Day of the Dead stuff. I love native american things-jewelry especially. I'm addicted to the dark chocolate oranges. I also love Godiva's Dark chocolate filled w/raspberry. LOVE it. I love handmade things. I love yarn. Natural fibers. I knit and crochet, so anything related to those two subjects is awesome. I love the old eras. Anything from the 1940s up to the 1970s is totally my style. I love anything vintage or vintage themed. My favorite colors are mostly earth colors. Though I do like some purples. And deep blues. But they can't be outlandish colors-mellow but deep in color-like burgundy or indigo. I love love love hand made jewelry. I love it. And I love handbags and purses. I do. Totally. Send me some cool bags with a sixties theme or a nice vintage one, or even a nice handmade one. Anything with a buddha on it is AWESOME. I need some bead/jewelry supplies. Natural wood beads and gemstones. And really cool, unique beads-I'm looking for buddha pendants especially. So, that's me. I LOVE NUTELLA. Seriously, it's 10% of my blood. I love Nutella. And milk chocolate with hazelnuts. And hot chocolate. I love tea-herbal tea, and black tea alike. I love a good chai tea, or flavoured coffee. I love hand made items. As far as embroidery goes, I would LOVE a nice pattern book-anything fairy or mermaid or pagan themed would be nice.

I read and collect tarot cards, so that would be cool also. I collect journals. And vintage cookbooks and poetry books. I like Kawaii stuff-letters, notepads and stationary stuff. No Stickers, please. PLEASE SEND ME MORE PAGAN AND BUDDHA STuff!

Favorite Crafts

Knitting, crocheting, scrap booking, making cards, making handmade soaps & creams, sewing, cooking, baking, writing, jewelry making, making dolls & accessories with felt

Current Obsession

Currently I’ve been a yarn whore. I'm into hoarding yarn for rainy days. I knit and crochet both, but I've been knitting alot lately. I’m not very adventerous, and don’t really venture too far from the basic knit and purl, but I’m trying! It’s hard to find time when you have a little one though. I’m currently trying to learn to make Amigurumi dolls. I have also been working with felt lately, so I love that. I love making cards. I just bought a needle felting kit, so wool and felting fiber would be awesome.

What I hate

I hate flakers. I hate people that don't call back. I'm a simple girl. Send me something simple, sweet and natural, and I'll be happy. Just send me something in the first place, and I'll be happy. Don't send me anything pink or with sequins or rinestones, or shiny jewels. Those are so not my style, at all. I love earth colors, and deep hues of burgundy, indigo and purple. But no beige! Ugh! And no Boucle yarn! I hate that stuff! Yuck! I am really easy to please-just don't send stuff that is too artificial, and I'll be happy. PLeASE NO CHRISTIAN OR PATRIOTIC red, white, blue, bald eagles, Americana crafts Cheap plastic stuff or mass-produced Walmart stuff, PINK or Silly Girl TRENDY STUFF Please use your imagination when sending me packages. Please refrain from sending me too many mass produced items.

A word of warning...

Please note that the mail in my neck of the woods really blows ass. It's super slow. Also, I have a bit of a potty mouth. But I like to curse. Don't take it personal.

Comment: Thank you for the resend. I have changed the rating. The directions for the swap state, "include a label with the yarn describing the content and care. Absolutely no used or partial skeins of yarn please!" I received three balls of yarn for this swap - not one of them had a label. Even though one was obviously Noro, there is no way to tell what brand or content or such the other balls are. Two were partial skeins, not even full balls (obvious from the cotton balls not weighing the same and from the Noro not weighing what the manufacturer gives as weight). Used yarn - what a disappointing package.
Response: I'm glad you liked the resend. I was in the midst of a family crisis when I sent the original package, so I knew it was best to resend you a new pack.

Comment: The swap requirement was: "take a craft technique/item and give it a Craft (as in witchcraft or pagan) theme or purpose". While the crochet pattern book is Awesome, there didn't seem to be any pagan-ish theme with the rest of the contents (paper craft supplies and those mini-knitting sock-turning needles). The post mark was July 29th, two weeks beyond the Send By date was July 14th. Sorry. For almost any other swap it would have been a great crafty package, but it just didn't make the requirements for this one at all. (The only identifier on it, btw, was your FIRST NAME and city -- on the return address. Took me quite a bit of time to identify which swapper/swap this box was for. A tag/card inside with the swap name would be a nice addition in the future.)
Response: I sent her a box FULL of treasures. I am sorry that she was not happy. I did contact her to tell her it was late. Also, I explained to her why it was late in the first place. I suppose that was not enough.

hello, dear!

I´d like to know if you want to do a private swap with me. I´m from brazil and I can get Catholic stuff like bookmarks, rosaries, medals, escapulários, etc. All I want is Wiccan stuff. Can you help me?
