Comment: Hello Pamelia! Thank you lots & lots for the 5 postcards for the swap and for extra postcard. I enjoyed very much going through them and I especially love the butterfly and Shoshone Falls ones! Glad to hear, you got back into swapping again. I'm sure you missed it. Thanks too for your favorite quotes.
Comment: Thank you so much for the fun postcard! The best part was hearing the story about your trip there! I am a daughter of a Vietnam Vet and your message just hit me in the feelz! I was immediately imagining Hawaii at that time and how awesome it must of been! Here's to love! Thanks again and keep up the awesome!
Comment: Thanks for the postcard. I haven't been to Norway, either, but I have been to AZ and the Grand Canyon. Both are beautiful (and a lot cheaper than going to Norway)! Just FYI, the picture was coming off the background almost entirely by the time it got to me; maybe the humidity loosened it. Thanks again!
Comment: All 3 of my cards from partners on this swap arrived on the same day! Love me some Route 66 -- thanks much Pamelia! BTW, I LOVE that quote about a man's feet and his eyes--same goes for women!
Response: Glad you liked the card and the quote! I think that was meant to be man in the sense of a generic human, if you take into account the age of the writer. At any rate, I think it says something really important in today's world! Thank for the heart, and happy swapping!
Comment: Hello Pamelia (I love your name!) Thank you for the lovely card! I hope you enjoy your time with your youngest daughter for Christmas. SKOL Vikings! Also, thank you for the butterfly stickers :D
Comment: Wonderful to swap with you again as well! What a lovely Christmas card! Thank you for the bright flower stickers! Our weather is pretty up and down these days - cold and rainy, warmer and sunny. I'm enjoying the holiday season, though. Happy swapping!
Comment: Thanks for the beautiful pc from Alaska. I was thinking I was cool for being here over a decade but you’ve got two of them! Congrats and thanks for being a valuable member to this website. Much love! ❤️❤️
Response: Glad you liked the card, and thanks for the heart and the compliment. I hope we swap again some time.
Comment: This is a great coast, and I thought the cliffs were really huge until I read how short the lighthouse is! I'm sure it's too cute in person! Great goal! I've only seen one lighthouse, in Maine, maybe one day I'll get to see more too! Thank you!
Response: Glad you liked it! Thanks for the heart, and happy swapping!
Comment: Beautiful Oregon pc! I spent a summer in Oregon back in the late, late 1980s and LOVED it!! Bend was my home for a few months and I can think of no place else I'd rather return a visit to!!
Ooo I got one from you from Boise too! THANK You! I have yet to visit Idaho and have added that to my Must-See list since one of my close friends recently moved there!
Comment: Thank you for the lovely PC!! I definitely watched the show during my childhood years and my kids watched as well. He has become a hero and a wonderful example of "loving the least" of us during this turbulent time in our history.....
Comment: This was awesome! First, the quote on the postcard is so me. When I was young, I did wild and crazy things, telling myself someday I would be old and boring, so I have to get it all out now. Now here I am, legitimately older and wiser! Your book sounds interesting. And strangely, the first and last lines together make me think of the same theme, that of youth and wildness, aging, and looking back to our youth. I would love cats, too, if I were not deathly allergic to them! Thanks for the awesome postcard and good book referral.
Response: Actually, you got at least on of the books' themes just right. I hope you can enjoy cats at least vicariously if you read it. Thanks for the heart, and happy swapping!
Comment: Thank you, Pamelia! These are beautiful and the Chicken Alaska card CRACKS ME UP! Believe it or not, one of my very dear friends lives there! She has NOT sent me a postcard from there though..... Hmmm I need to get on her about that!! Thank you for the book recommendation too! I will definitely be checking that one out!
~ xx Gabi
Response: wow! What a coincidence! Do find and read Tisha. It was out of print for a long time, but is now available again. Thanks for the heart.
Comment: Oh, thank you for 2 amazing books! I love that the frost one is larger print and that it has art inside! I adored your note.....and thank you for sharing that sweet poem you wrote! A package of love that I am grateful for!
Response: I am glad you liked my package! I don't think I mentioned that Frost is my life-long favorite, and The Road Not Taken is pretty much my life in a nutshell. I am also glad you liked my poem. I have been married to my Michael for 52 years, and he is still my sweetheart and my greatest blessing. I hope we get to swap again. Thanks for the heart, and happy swapping!
Comment: I don't really have a preference when it comes to post cards. I haven't made a list because I have gotten some that I wouldn't have thought to list that I just love! Hope that makes sense. But TY for checking! ♥
Comment: Hi Pamelia, thank you for the amazing Alaska postcard! It will make a fantastic addition to my wall at home, where I display my favourite PCs! I hope you make it to Australia one day :) From Sophie
Comment: Ciao Pamelia!
Thank you for your postcard, it's very interesting. I've never seen the movie about Ok Corral, I think here in Italy is not much famous.
But I know the story and I've always seen quotes about it. I remember when I was a child I saw one in the Peanuts comics. :D
The stamps are marvelous!
Response: so glad you liked it! The movie is not new, so I am not surprised you do not know it. Knowing the story is good. thanks for the heart. Mi piace molto. Ciao!
Comment: Hallo Pamelia,
vielen Dank für die tolle Postkarte :)
It's cool to learn that you have lived in Germany and that you have fond memories about that time.
Thanks again for your card and happy swapping,
Comment: Boy, that's one BIG MOOSE! Thanks for the great card.... and the great story! We have a moose crossing sign in the breezeway that separates my back door and garage-I'd faint if a real one were standing there!
Comment: Thanks for the photo and the lovely letter. What a lovely photo, the women are beautiful and look so relaxed sitting on the rock platform. I am going to put it on my wall of other ATC's. Thanks so much xx
Comment: cute prairie dog card :) Hopefully you will get to come back up and visit Alaska - winters have been mild the last few years. Haven't gotten as nearly cold as they were. But rain...do you ever remember it raining in winter here? I don't recall ever having schools and businesses shut down because of rain in winter. That's crazy! Only thing they did back in the day when I was in elementary school was no recess during cold spells. But school went on! :) thank you for the great card and joining the swap :)
Comment: Thank you so much for the "big" tater! LOL! Yes, Houston is huge compared with when I was a child. I remember sitting in my front yard when I was 4 and watching them break ground for I45. (been awhile) now we are considered the 3rd largest city in the US in land mass. Lots of freeways now and they are ALL under construction. ARGH!
Response: Thanks for the heart! I think constant freeway construction is mandatory. I seems to be the daily state of thing in Tucson and St. Louis, which we have been through a lot visiting family! Happy swapping!
Comment: Thank you for the cute cat card. They look so innocent but are mischievous. Mine is sleeping on the couch getting rested before I put her out for the night. Merry Christmas.
Response: Mine is sleeping, too -- and mad because we have been gone a couple of days so she didn't have people to sleep with. We can't let ours out for the night -- too many coyotes and predatory owls! Happy swapping!
Comment: Thanks for all the quote and the several poems, of course I know the Frost and a few years ago I discovered that fun Nash poem, the one about sleep with a partner is fine and yours is lovely. No need to apologize about not handwriting the poems. I DON'T LIKE hand written poems -- I think handwriting today is only needed on sympathy cards and special thank yous.
Response: Glad you enjoyed everything! Perhaps we will swap again. happy holidays, and happy swapping in 2018!
Response: did you ever see him in the BBC productions of the Chronicles of Narnia? If you know the books -- Tom Baker played Puddleglum in The Silver Chair. The series is available on DVD. You might enjoy them.
Comment: Hi! That's so cool your from AZ, I'm from NM and the postcard is from CO. I love it! Thanks so much! Ha! You love the same TV shows as me! I love NCIS, Rizolli & Isles and watch Wheel of Fortune every day!
Comment: Thank you for the nice sand dollar card. Yes, I have a good collection of GLH books. It was a challenge to read one novel, but had ti discontinue it. I just have to read other book club selections.
Comment: I'm sure that my daughter will love the card! She's visiting with my mom right now so I can't show it to her (they're in a different state). I will look for that email with the cake recipe, I can't wait to see it!
Response: Let me know when you get the recipe. I have been having some computer trouble, so it would be good to know you got it. Thanks for the heart.
Comment: Thank you for the beautiful sand dollar PC! Yes, we have them in South Carolina also. The kids and I found a bed of them one time in Charleston. We pulled about 100 of them from the water. Lol! Don't worry, we only kept a few. 😃
Response: You are most welcome! I have never seen that many in Oregon -- maybe because the beaches are rocky and the Pacific is pretty cold! Thanks for the heart.
Comment: Thank you so much. It's inspiring to read your introduction of Hypatia. After reading your note, I googled her. The more stories I read about her, the more I'm fascinated 'coz I thought she was a Greek goddess at the first glance. "Reserve your right to think, for even to think wrongly is better than not to think at all." - Hypatia
Response: Glad you liked the card and are enjoying learning about Hypatia -- nothing makes this retired teacher happier than having someone say they are enjoying learning! Thanks for the heart, and happy swapping!
Comment: Wow, TWO PCs, Pamelia....fun to read a bit about you and your AK to AZ life. ("dry heat"...yes, quite a joke as I ran from AC to AC years ago while working in Phoenix.:) Thanks for your generosity and happy words, swap friend. Hugs and hearts...jinanne
Response: I'm glad you enjoyed the cards -- I hope we swap again!
Comment: Love the postcards :) How funny you almost send the Alaska ones :) My brother's were both born in the St. Joseph too :) I would of been if it had not been for the flood - you graduated UAF same year I was born! :) Is Totem Way over in Lemeta area?
Response: guess I know how old you are -- my 50th reunion is this coming summer! Totem Way is off College Road not too far from the foot of the stairs that come down from campus. The water was so peaty I used to haul 5 gal. jugs down from campus so we could have drinking water that didn't discolor anything you put in it. Our younger daughter will have her 25th reunion this summer, and we are hoping to come up together if her summer plans work out. She is a teacher and has required summer training, but we are hoping she can get away. It would be fun to meet you and see your shop, too. Thanks for the heart, and happy swapping!
Comment: Thanks for sending it my way. Hope you had a good Thanksgiving! I did!
Alaska is a bit too cold for me! I have lived in Minnesota at one point for a winter and then moved lol. Just a bit too cold there. I prefer where I am now, In New Mexico. It has all the seasons. Not too cold and not too hot usually. Sometimes in the single digits and sometimes in the low 100s.
I just loved reading thru your answers. Again, thanks for sharing!
Response: You are most welcome. And isn't it a good thing that we have different ideas about weather. Otherwise some places might get really overcrowded! Happy swapping!
Comment: Amazing B&W postcard of the Idaho Capitol building! It made me put that building on our "to visit" list someday. Your name story is a great one! I had the same problem in Spanish class. They made my name into "Aurora" since there was no translation for "Aubrey" :) Super cool that you majored in French in College! Love it! Thank you!
Response: Thanks for the heart! You will be amazed by the capitol if you get there. Even my 4 year old granddaughter was delighted with the beauty of it -- the inside is all marble or faux marble and catches light everywhere! We were there during a recess, and even got to go into the Senate and House chambers. I have learned to love Boise -- wouldn't mind living there! I hope you get to go someday.
Comment: Thank you for the heart felt letter and beautiful card! Interested in Pen pals?
Response: I am not a very good Pen Pal, but if an occasional letter is ok we could try it. Also, I think we have all your quarters, just need time to check. We are in for a very busy month, as our daughter and son-in-law are coming for a short visit and right after I have to Mayo for a cancer follow-up. I will let you know about the quarters as soon as I know! You should have my address from the card -- write even if you don't hear from me right away, and I will answer asap. Happy swapping!
Comment: Thanks for the lovely card with Cape Blanco Lighthouse. Everyone keeps telling me about the lighthouses and bridges there! I hope when I retire I can spend some time seeing them. Have a great week.
Response: Glad you liked it! I am hoping someday to get to live there.
Comment: Thank you for the Alaska Map card. It is different from the ones I have.I have never been to Alaska but maybe one year I can take a cruise trip with a group from here. I agree the Flint Hills are a beautiful part of my state.
Comment: Thank you for the gorgeous, vibrant Elegant Trogon (I have never seen or heard of it before :) card and wonderful quotes -- as a theatre/music-lover, I really like the Dutch proverb! Thank you also for the good thoughts as LA recovers; thankfully, my family has not been directly affected by flooding, but my heart breaks for people who were taken by surprise. Happy Tuesday!
Response: Glad you liked it, and good to hear that you were not hit by the flooding, but, like you, I can only imagine what those in the flooding are going through.
Comment: Such a beautiful hummingbird. :) Our fat outdoor cat lazily watched one hovering over him for a good 5 minutes the other day. It was amusing because it looked like the hummingbird was quite baffled by the cat! Happy Swapping!
Response: I would love to have seen that! Cats are so much fun! Thanks for the heart -- hope we swap again.
Comment: Oregon is in my top five favorite states....right up there with AK and WA. All with such amazing diversity...BEAUTIFUL. Thanks for nudging my memories of working in those wonderful states. Hope your summer's been super, and you're looking forward to a glorious fall, Pamelia. jinanne â¤
Comment: Thank you so much for the notecards. The butterfly one is my favorite. My kids are so glad for some more BoxTops, too! Thank you. (I can imagine that your daughter doesn't need more stuff in the middle of moving.)
Comment: This card is beautiful! Thank you so very much. Your husband sounds like an amazing person! Visiting alaska is on my bucket list for sure. It's lovely thank you. ***update I adore the bonus card with GS. My girls really loved it too. How sweet. Thank you so very much!***
Comment: I read and reread your answers again and again. You seem like the sweetest lady in the world and I can picture myself sitting with you outside on your little hill with a cup of tea and a piece of pie and chatting up a storm! hehehe!! You're incredibly brave and you've been through so much! I truly believe you will find the strength needed to come visit Israel and fulfill this wish of yours, and when you do, I will be here waiting for you with a smile and a Falafel :) I really connected with what your wrote, complete strangers often have come and shared their entire lives with me. I was told I give a sweet and safe feeling to others, this must be the swame with you. Take care sweet Pamelia and let me know when you've bought your plane ticket to Tel Aviv :)
Response: Thanks for the heart -- and for sharing your heart with me! I would love to have tea with you -- if you ever get to the USA you must let me know. Blessings, and happy swapping!
Comment: 3+ years and finally getting a rating to you! I do feel bad and I am embarrassed about it also. I have been on an emotional roller coaster and I am hoping that it has finally came to an end. Life is not always fair. But we will survive! A while back, I promised myself to make right all the people and ATC's I have neglected to complete. It has been bugging me, as this has never been how I usually handle things. A few days late possibly, but always completed. I am so sorry about this and I do hope that this long awaited rating, will bring your paperwork to a 100% close at for anything I still owe you. If there is something else that you are missing from me, please let me know asap. Again ... Sorry!!!
Comment: Great selection of postcards. Thanks so much for them and the nice note. I visited Alaska several years ago and loved it too. (not enough to think of spending the winter there!!). No known relatives in AZ. Thanks again!
Response: glad you liked the pc's -- thanks for the heart!
Comment: Thank you for all the great cards and the nice note too. We have been to Depot Bay, before I was collecting cards, Colorado has Moose now, we haven't seen any. I have an album for the state parks, and have very few NY cards. They were all a great addition to my collection.
Response: So glad you liked everything. Thanks for the heart!
Comment: Thank you so much for the p.c. I love your quote choices. Also, thank you for sending a Happy Birthday card to my mom! She hasn't opened it yet, but I wanted to let you know that I received it and greatly appreciate it! ♥ ~ Cari
Response: You are most welcome. I no longer have my mother with me, so it is a pleasure to help someone else's mother celebrate. (Besides, I am not quite a year older than your mom, so we seniors have to stick together! :) Happy swapping1
Comment: Thank you so much for the ATCs! And how awesome of you to offer to make the whole set! Very sweet:) updated on sept 27- I tried to click your profile to PM you but I kept getting an error message. I just received the 4 other ATCs in the series and I wanted to thank you. It was soooooo nice of you to make me the whole set! I hope you have a quick and easy recovery too:)
Comment: Hello- I received my ATC over 2 weeks ago and I really thought I had rated to let you know. My sincerest apologies. I really like your card and explanation of how it was done. It's one of my favourites and I love the glitter pen touch! Again, thank you.
Comment: Thank you so much for the lovely postcard and sharing your swap experiences. I'm sorry you had to go through such a difficult situation, but happy you received an outpouring of love and support. The story of your butterfly tattoo is fantastic! Wishing you the best, and happy swapping. (｡◕‿‿◕｡)
Comment: Thank you so much for the beautiful postcards you sent me. I love them both, the one with grandmother and granddaughter is beautiful and your Arizona is just wonderful. I love nature and all its beauty so thank you very much for picking these cards for me.
Comment: Thank you so much for the great ATC! I especially loved hearing about Mt. Mckinley. The information about the Athabasian name is fascinating because I see the word Denali here and there, but now I know it's origin. (Yes I love words and their meanings!) Alaska is a place that I can't wait to visit! We have been whale watching in Ecuador, but I would love to see Orcas in the wild.
Response: Glad you liked it! I once read a book which talked about everyone having a "geographical home." Alaska is mine! I hope you get there some day. Thanks for the heart, and happy swapping.
Comment: loved the PC and am really glad we are doing this as a monthly 1-to-1 swap. What did you say you wanted for April?
Response: How about in April we list some of the strong women who have influenced us, and what they taught us. I am glad we are doing this, too. I am thinking we will find we have a lot in common. Looking forward to April.
Comment: Thank you for the beautiful flowers. I'm really learning to repurpose things for atc's. Loved the Cactus jelly postcard. I actually have had it. Never had the recipe. I bought the whole set of Trixie Belden books at a garage sale for 10.00 couple of years ago. There were about 30. I also have some judy Bolton books and love them to
Response: Glad you liked the ATC -- and thanks for the heart. It is also nice to find another Judy Bolton fan! Happy swapping!
Comment: Thank you, I love the owl pc you sent, I love the "Rhino" poem and yes, yes to Geraldine Brooks, I whole-heartedly agree-she is an excellent writer :) I'm looking forward to reading her new novel...I hope you are having a lovely day Pamela, it was awesome hearing from you today :)
Comment: Thank you! I can't figure them out... >.<
Response: The first one was popular in my grandmother's youth, and she was born in 1875! Little Nancy Etticoat is a candle, and the homicidal unit of metric measurement is a (are you ready for this?) -- a killer-gram! I hope you did enjoy trying to figure them out -- happy swapping!
Comment: Hi Pamelia
Thank you so much for the postcard. I love the New Yorker Covers so very much. They always have the most interesting artwork. I also love the quotes you quoted and have also used them in the past. I hope you are doing well :-)
Response: I'm glad you like both the card and the quotes. I am making good progress -- thanks for the good wishes. Happy swapping!
Comment: Pamelia, what a neat campus picture. I think of Alaska as snow all the time and not with trees with fall colors. Thank you for the info about he college. My college was a small one in Maine that closed. Happy swapping with you! Shirley
Comment: Hi Pamelia, Thank you so much for the postcard. Alaska is my very favorite state of all! We travel there every other year and this is the year!!! YEAHHH! I work for the Centers for Disease Control and was going to take a 5 year position there but the grant was cut just as I was to move there. I was so bummed. My hubby on the other hand was elated because he was going to stay in Tennessee (he was in the military at the time). Do you still live up there? If so, I am so envious!!! Take good care! Enjoy life, Jane
Comment: Hello Pamelia,
Thank you for the fabulous "Y" Christian Alphabet ATC you created for me. I love that it is a 3-D replica of a yoke using clay and wire. This will be a great addition to my Christian Alphabet ATC Series. I will enjoy adding this ATC to my series, It has been great swapping with you and I look forward to our continued swapping together.
Comment: Thanks for the Alaska card. I love it! Just read your profile and see that you are a life time member of GS--so am I. I was a leader for 34 years and loved it. Great memories and made great friends! Have a great week.
Comment: Great PCs, wish I could give you more hearts! BTW, where did you get the NYer PCs? I love their covers and have notecards, but not postcards. Thank you!
Response: Glad you liked them, thanks for the heart. I got the NYer cards from the Bas Bleu catalog in a collection. They came in an adorable, reuseable box, and there were 100 PC's. I have been having a lot of fun with them.
Response: I can only assume since you gave me a 1 that you did not receive my questionnaire. I will be resending it. I wish you had contacted me before giving me a rating, as I have never flaked and never will short of serious health problems or a natural disaster! Please watch for my resend.
Comment: Thanx for sharing your awesome story that you shared with us in this swap. Romans 8:28 says, "we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him". We may not understand why things happen as they do in our life. We need only trust Him & Obey.
I like your term "courtesy daughter". Does that mean she was adopted?
I was a child overseas in Turkey when Pred. Kennedy was shot. My dad was in the Air Force. I was only a child, but when 911 happened I can imagine the helplessness.
Comment: WOW!!! I was just thinking I wanted a postcard with New Yorker art! This is so wonderful. It really made my day. I love the art and the title "missed connection." The stamps you used are also lovely. I found the information you shared about carbs and metabolism very interesting too! Have a great day and thanks again
Response: Glad you liked it! It just seemed to fit with what I read on your profile. Happy swapping!
Response: Thank you for the heart -- and for not minding that it wasn't as long as required. Our lovely coordinator pointed that out to me, and I was going to think about resending, so I especially appreciate the heart! I just got yours, and will read it as soon as I get home from physical therapy! Happy swapping!
Comment: Thank you for not one, but two postcards! I was slightly confused at first, because you were suppose to pick words that you thought fit me (based on my profile), and the first word meant "having a beautifully proportionate buttocks"! :D I had a good laugh about it!
Response: I understood it to be words I thought you would enjoy, and I really enjoyed that one when I found it! Glad you liked it, too. Hope we get to swap again!
Comment: Thank you for a most significant word. :-)
Response: Thanks for the heart -- I am so glad you liked it. I wasn't sure if it was too "off the wall" for anyone but me. It is nice to be rated by someone who would seem to be a kindred spirit! Happy swapping!
Comment: Thank you for your beautiful card and lovely long letter! C.S. Lewis is an author I turn to again and again and it is good to be reminded of his words. Actually, I do not think that I have ever read "Surprised by Joy"! I will have to read it soon. I love your poem and hope it isn't the only one that you have written.
Response: It is always good to "meet" another CS Lewis fan! And no, that isn't my only poem, but I have often said I don't write them -- I grow them. And sometimes they really just attack me and I have to get them on paper no matter where I am or what I am doing at the time. Someday I hope to get a small book together -- maybe. Thanks for the heart, and blessings to you, too.
Comment: Thank you so much for the cool magnet, it's one of my favourite types, the 3D maps! :)
And the special card of Alaska is cool too :)
It's so nice that you have been to my country! You have been to the Eastern part, near Germany. I live in the South West, near Belgium and at the coast. :)
Response: I also lived in Schweinfurt, Bad Nauheim, Frankfort and Heidelberg when I was growing up, and in Karlsruhe after my husband and I graduated from college. Deutschland ist meine andere heimat! Vielen dank fur die hertz.
Comment: Thank you so much for the card Pamelia, and for the very special message which you included! I would have been happy to get a card from the Komen fund, but even more so knowing how meaningful it is for you!
Comment: Hi Pamelia! Thank you for the beautiful card. I'm sorry about your aunt and your diagnosis. But I am glad that you are doing better. :-) Two of my mom's sisters where diagnosed and are in remission. However, my mother is stubborn and refused to get check this year. :-( I hope you are having a wonderful Thanksgiving. Also, I want to wish a very early Merry Christmas, may this upcoming year be a blessed one you stay in good health.
Comment: Pamelia! If I could give you and handful of hearts I would. God is amazing! The Bible Scripture cards you made and sent me couldn't have come at a better time. I lost my job earlier this year and just finished out a short term contract with my former employer and was starting to feel anxious again about how I would make ends meet. Even though I know the scriptures because I have studied them recently, I found myself in a bit of a dip that day. Your cards came at just the right time to remind me the God is our Provider. Thank you so much for the beautiful cards and for reminding me God cares for and takes care of us all. <3 Bless you!
Response: I am so glad they were right for you -- just another example of God's planning. I am glad He was able to work through me. Blessings!
Comment: Pamelia, My husband and I absolutely loved your postcard! He said it made him really happy to hear about your long marriage and your children and all of your grandchildren :) thank you for sharing!
Response: Glad it made you happy -- and thanks for the heart!
Comment: Love this card! Thank you so much. Hugs And I just see that you send me 2 cards for this swap. If you PM me with your address, I'd be happy to send you another card.
Response: Don't worry about an additional card! I think of myself as sort of an unofficial Alaska Chamber of Commerce, so it is always a treat for me to share something about my favorite place in the whole world! Thanks for the heart!
Comment: Hi Pamelia, what a beautiful unusual name and what an amazing ATC you sent me, it is so fabulous and must have taken you ages, I feel very special that you sent it to me, thank-you so much. Instead of Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, I will go with you - Ikea, Ikea, Ikea, lol. Marion
Response: So glad you liked it. Cross stitch is one of the little things that helps keep me sane -- or at least partially so! I hope we swap again. Thanks for the heart.
Comment: Hello Pamelia,
Thank you for the "M" Christian ATC you created for me for this swap. I like how you use a music piece and highlighted the word the word that the Micah Message was all about. I am glad that you are doing some better. Thank you for the postcard as well. I will add the ATC to my Christian Alphabet Collection and it will be a nice addition.
P.S. It was nice swapping with you again as I remember your name from the past swapping. I hope, too, that it won't be so long next time.
Comment: Thank you very much for the great card, I really love the painting and the story of the first letter that they painted on the rocks. I did not knew that.
We are in the middle of the summer but last night it looked like your monsoons ;-)
Comment: I can't get it! The closest I can come for a guess is like hula dancers in a row? My eyes are bad!
Response: o, it's a golfer in midswing. In the background there are trees and the hole and flag are visible in the right side background. I usualy hold these right against my nose and sort of let my eyes unfocus, then move the card away slowly until the image appears. I'm sorry you haven't seen it -- let me know if you try again and can make it work.
Comment: thank you for the atc. i really like the way you did the the flowers. recycling the foil from wrapping paper paper is great and it goes so well with the buttons against the parchment colored page. love the helen keller quote.
Response: Glad you liked it. I always feel good when I can recycle. I also read your profile, and we have old monster and sci-fi movies in common. Have you ever seen Day of the Triffids? I finally found it on DVD, and it is one of my all-time favorites! Happy swapping, and thanks for the heart.
Comment: Thanks so much for a great selection of cards, bonus card, and extra stamp! Fairbanks look lovely. I can see why you miss it. I hope to take an Alaskan cruise someday... it's on my bucket list! :)
Response: Glad you liked them If you do go to AK, try to combine a visit to the Interior with the cruise. It's a whole different world there, and really nice in late summer when the days are getting shorter and you mighthave a chance of seeing the Northern Lights. If you get it workid out, message me and I will make suggestion about things not to miss. (No, I don't work for the tourist Bureau, I just love my adopted state! ) Happy swapping!
Comment: thank you the postcard was awesome i actually have family in valdez :D
Response: Glad you liked it! I haven't been to Valdez in a long time, but our first "wedding gift" was a kitchen knife my mother picked up on the beach there after the '64 earthquake. She cleaned the tar off, and I used it just last week to spread peanut butter! It really is a small world.
Comment: I am doing a road trip with my 2 youngest boys in August, we plan on seeing Tombstone. It will be one of my dreams come true :) Thank you!
Response: Be sure and go to the Historama, and their Shootout at the OK Corral. The Historama is pretty cheesy, but it gives you the best overall view of the history of Tombstone, and the OK Corral reenactment is the best one, with some really good actors, especially Doc Holiday. If you buy the package you also get a free copy of the newspaper, The Epitaph. And Big Nose Kate's is a good place to eat. Have a great time!
Comment: Thank you for the great postcard. My grandparents used to grow peppermint. Yes I have read the Judy Bolton books. I'm trying to collect all the old books. Another one is the Dana girls, They were twins. Same author of the Nancy Drew.
Response: I read the Dana girls, too, but Judy Bolton was my favorite. Also read Cherry Ames (nurse) and Vicki Barr (stewardess -- when they still called them that) and another one whose name I can't rmember. She was an Army brat, like me, who went to NY to try acting. One of my daughters took most of my Nancy Drew books, the other one got the Bobbsey Twins. Good memories!
Comment: Hi Pamelia! Thanks so much for your magnet and the postcards!! That was so thoughtful of you! FYI- your envelope had a sticker on it that said not machineable and it was cut open on the side. The post office was nice and put it in one of those we care envelopes! :).
Response: Well, at least it sounds like everything got there! I put the not machineable on it, and also the extra 20cents postage, but I have no idea why it was cut open. I may ask at out PO, but since our mail is now taken to Phoenix for processing, it could have happened anywhere. I'm glad you liked everything. Happy swapping!
Comment: Thanks for the lovely postcard - and proof that Arizona is not all desert (haha). I love your first name and I have a series of ancestors where that name was given to the first daughter of each generation.
Response: Wow! I have never met anyone else with my name, except my husband's favorite fishing lake in Oregon. He says that is why he married me! Where is your family from originally? I have always understood that Pamelia is an Irish variation of Pamela. It would be really interesting if we are related somewhere in the far distant past.
Comment: Swoon, thank you for the awesome Oregon PC! :) I actually went to Yaquina Head last year and saw the lighthouse, but ran out of time for the tide pools, so I was glad to see them on your PC! Thank you :)
Comment: Thanks for your nice assortment. It's been awhile since I've had Red Rose tea. Do they still put the ceramic figurines in the box? Like you, I enjoy the Good Earth Original Sweet & Spicy. I was all out, so I used your tea bag as soon as it came! Thanks!
Response: Glad you liked them. No, they don't put the little ceramic figures in Red rose any more -- but I did inherit quite a few from my mother, so I shared them with our kids. Happy swapping!
Comment: Thanks for the painting postcard - though that doesn't look like a monsoon to me. In monsoon, India's skies are deep gray, everywhere, all the time. As my spouse says, the Dutchman's breeches in the northeast sky means we'll get sunshine. It's a nice painting even if misnamed :-D!
Response: Actually, the misnaming has become an actual weather term in AZ, even the TV weather reports use it! I think they justify it because our summer rains are very seasonal, and in our desert environment are often preceded by an actual haboob -- quite an awesome sight if you are not caught in it!
Thanks for the heart!
Comment: THANK YOU SO MUCH for the cool postcard! Definitely one of the places I want to visit one day! Heard so much about your state from a cousin who has moved there and a long-time friend... THANK YOU!
Response: Glad you liked it, and thanks for the heart!
Comment: Thank you for the wonderful lighthouse card, with the added bonus of a cool old building! :o) I'm with you when it comes to hot weather - I don't think I could survive the temps in AZ. Good luck with your radiation treatments! :oP
Comment: Hi Pamelia! Thanks for the postcard. It reminded me of the time when we drove through Arizona from CA as we moved to the Midwest. I was amazed when I first saw the formations and I still am today. :)
Comment: Love the crossword ATC and bless you for going thru all you do and still getting something done for me-hope all is well with your family! Thanks for swapping-I used to collect froggies-they are still dear to me-not the real ones of course!
Response: Swap-bot is one of the things I do that saves my sanity! Got to have that creative outlet -- and I love the contact with fellow swappers all over the world. Swap-bot is an amazing community -- hopefully we are all making a small contribution toward world peace! Thanks for the heart, and happy swapping!
Comment: Hello Pamelia,
Thank you for your fabulous ATC you created for me for this swap. Thank you, as well, for the wonderful sharing of the psalm. This will be a fabulous addition to my Christian Alphabet series.
Comment: Pamelia...Thanks for my PC of the calvary post at Fort Huachuca...I have read about this Fort in some of my books about the pioneers heading west. A very fascinating time in history!!...Charlene
Comment: Thank you so much for your lovely postcard! My gosh it is so nice of you to include a bookmark and a card for David! I am so so thrilled! His birthday is coming soon so Im going to save it till then to give him :) Thanks so much again! You're amazing! :)
Response: You are ost welcome! I know what it is to be away from family, so it just seemed like a good tome to pass on a little kindness. Hope his birthday is a great one for both of you!
Comment: Thank you for the lovely cactus flowers postcard. I have been through the southwest before, traveling to California from Georgia, but I was 11, my parents didn't stay long as we were traveling thru, so I never got to admire any cactus flowers. But my mom loved cactii and succulents, so I have seen some of those in bloom, though I know the potted variety surely don't compare to the native plantlife. I chuckled when I received your postcard because, for this swap, I sent to my partners postcards of cactii in bloom, too! Great minds think alike!
Comment: LOVE the Zane Grey PBs! I've read Captives of the Desert but don't own it and have never heard of Wilderness Trek. The bookmarks are perfect and somehow in collecting Western/Native American knick knacks, etc for years, I don't have a Dream Catcher - NOW I do. :) Perfect swap pkg. Thanks so much!
Comment: hello thanks for your nice atc
i hope everything is ok with you mother in law
this atc is special for me and it stay now on my table
thanks and greeting from elza
Response: I am so glad you liked my ATC! And thanks for asking about my mother-in-law. She is doing very well, especially for someone 89 years old. She is in a rehabilitation facility, and should be able to come home fairly soon. Happy swapping -- I hope we are partners again someday.
Comment: Thank you for the wonderful selection of cards. I especially love the Arizona PCs since I once lived there, and your holiday photograph is so cute. I appreciate the extras as well. What a great envelope to open!
Comment: Thank you for the beautiful Christmas stocking ATC. I loved the theme "Christmas love". My son thanks you for the gum and I'd like to thank you for the aida cloth. The gold metalic thread that goes through it is beautiful.
Comment: Hi Pamelia,
Thank you for the nice owl postcard. I have only seen them stuffed at a museum or nature center. It is always wonderful to see large birds in person. Maybe I'll get to see them someday.
Thank you for sharing this with me!
Comment: Hello Pamelia,
Thank you for the beautiful drawing of the Purple Cornflower you sent me for this swap. Your ATC will be a great addition to my Flower Series. Happy Thanksgiving!!!
Comment: Thanks for the letter and the goodies, I really love the postcards. I remember Red Rose tea having something else in when I drank it, maybe little animals? It's been a while since I had a box of it though.
Response: Yes, at one time they had little china figurines of animals. My younger daughter inherited my mom's collection of those. I got some Red Rose a couple of years ago while traveling in Canada -- no surprises in the box these days! Glad you liked my package -- htanks for the heart.
Comment: Thanks so much for your fun envie. I am definitely going to save that envelope for a journal I am planning to make! :) And I love the tea card - I have heard about these before and printed some collage sheets from Flickr that have them so I was surprised to see they are a bit bigger than I thought. Great for ATCs for sure. :)
Comment: Thank you so much! Lovely letter. I've never seen those tea cards, planning on using it in a collage. The bookmarks are cute, and funny because my dad calls me Moosey. And we're (kind of) neighbors! :)
Comment: Hi, Pamelia....
I love the audio book...It's in my car player right now, am listening to it...(I am up to the part where the dr. goes to the monestary in Nepal...THE GOATS ARE DEAD..THE GOATS ARE DEAD...DON'T LAND!! (hahaha...) Thank you so much, I am really enjoying it!!
Comment: Thank you for the Arizona PC. I also love the Flint Hills. I have a brother-in-law who has a farm in the flint hills and I loved walking their land. Especially the pastures behind their housel
Comment: Thanks for the great package! I love everything you put in here! The cd has great songs on it. I like the cross stitch mice, expecially the one that says "you can touch my dust but please don't write in it". The cross stitch quilt block is neat too. I'll have to see if I can find more of them. And the doll......she is so beautiful. Knowing the history behind her makes her even that much more special. Thanks for the interesting information on Calabria. I bet it was beautiful there. Thanks again for the great package! I would give you many more hearts if I could!!! :)
Comment: I would like to thank you for the great card and the wonderful advise, I shared it with my hubby and he agreed that with 47 yrs married under your belt's you both must be doing something right so any advise you offer have to be worth it's weight in gold :) Thank you again...
Ooops Almost forgot, thank you for the neat postcard Arizona is on of the places on my list that I wanna vist any where as hot as Trinida I'm game : )
Response: Thanks for not minding that I felt compelled to share. Will keep you both in my thoughts and prayers -- the best is yet to come!
Comment: Your notebook paper ATC is very cute--and YES, I am definitely old enough for Dick and Jane and Sally. As they came into strong disfavor in later years, I always wondered why--but am not a reading teacher. For me, at that age, getting my hands on ANY book was "heaven"! On a farm near a town of 367 people, books were in short supply! That's probably why I became an English prof--and can rarely bare parting with a book--well, unless I really want some cash to buy more at 1/2 Price Books! Have a great week!
Response: I do understand about parting with books -- we moved across the street a few years ago. Gained an enclosed swimming pool and a 4-car garage (now my husband's "man cave") but have been forced to downsize esp. re bookshelves. I am now engaged in sorting the last boxes which have been in storage and decide which have to go to Friends of the Library -- pure agony!
And thanks for the friend request!
Comment: wow wow you are the bomb as my granddaughter would say I think this is the best swap i have gotten from any one. I love the card and your poem I will have to teach it to my granddaughter. Thank you for the idea on the sticker book. Lilly will be 7 Nov. 10 she is getting better slow slow it could take up to 3 years for her to recover, but we are working on it. Thank you so much for the swap. I also have my granddaughter in girl scouts
Response: Glad you liked it -- message me now and then to let me know how Lily is doing -- maybe she and my granddaughter Alise, who was 7 last June 2, could become penpals. I think Alise would like that -- she had done a few kid swaps, and loves to make postcards.
Comment: Thanks so much for the great map postcards! I especially love the Idaho one since it's a new state for my collection. Thank you for the extra postcard, too - I can't help but smile when I get a big yellow smiley face in the mail! :)
Comment: Thank you so much for the lovely ATCs, so kind of you to make me an extra one :)! I´m not very fond of drawn cards, but your yellow poppy is drawn very well, so I do like it! Best wishes and take care!
Comment: Pamelia, Thank you for such a nice swap. You bookmark is so beautiful. I just started Ray Comfort's book "Hell's Best Kept Secret" and put it right in there. Nice work on the ATC and thank you for your note. God bless, Coleen in Ukraine
come by and I'd love it if you followed
Comment: Thanks for the card. I first visited AZ a couple of years ago and all the birds were different to me. Was there in March of this year and really liked the little quail that were skittering under the outdoor tables at the Botanical Garden.
Comment: Thank you Pamelia for the great PC! You would not believe how many swap partners have either come from AK or been here! I love it! You should see the storms we are having up here right now. Whew!!! 100 mph winds, rain and high seas. Hugs from Alaska, Sherry
Comment: Thank you so much for the Star Flower ATC, I love the combination of the flowers, gems, hearts and how it is all so coordinated. Sorry this is so late being rated. Again, thanks bunches. I certainly am enjoying it!
Response: Thansk for the heart -- and happy swapping!
Comment: Thank you for the great coyote pup pc. We don't have anything like that in here. Usually the wild animals stay away from people... Except for bears, they can sometimes look for food from people's yards.
Comment: Hello Pamela,
Thank you for the beautiful ATC you created for me for this swap. I like the creative way you used the pink tourmaline gems--as the center of flowers. This ATC will be a nice addition to my Gemstone Collection.
Comment: Thanks so much Pamelia for a beautiful PC that mountain lion is gorgeous!! I do love cats! Arizona is on my wanna visit state list!! Thanks for the kind words and the lovely PC. So much appreciated. Hugs, Dawn Gallop stampmom9
Comment: Thanks for the "J"s, Pamelia! I love the weird optical illusion on the background - did you notice it? :D Actually, I haven't had any repeat partners on this one for a while, so it was nice to see a return address that I recognised :)
Comment: Your note was lovely, I have troubles with my hand and arm as well, so I totally understand the typed note!!
The zinnias are beautiful! thank you so much for taking your time to make me something so lovely! I truly appreciate it!
Comment: Thanks for making the extra effort to send this out while you're at the Mayo Clinic--I hope all is well with you!
Response: Thanks for the comment -- things went very well and I don't have to go back for 18 months! I love Mayo -- everyone makes you feel that you are the most important person in their day! Happy swapping!
Comment: Thank you for the "E"s Pamelia. It is indeed a small world - smaller than you think - I popped my "F"s in the postbox this morning - addressed to YOU!!! Pleasure swapping with you again ma'am ;)
Comment: Dear Pamela, I just received your bookmarks today. They are very delicate. Thank you for the effort you put in making them. I also loved the colorful card and the stamp on the envelope. Cheers!
Comment: OMG!!! thank you so much! that was so special, and i just love those PC's! thank you - you are the best! you are welcome to Israel at any time, it's very nice in here, especially at this time of the year, when every thing is super hot... and when i say hot i mean hot! i would love to hear if you'll ever visit in here ^^
Response: Our next big trip will be in May 2013, when our oldest granddaughter will graduate from the Univ. of Alaska in Fairbanks -- but after that, who knows! Glad you liked everything -- happy swapping!
Comment: Clever card and thanks for the little Alaskan journey... 1965 I was 10 years old.... spent some time in Fairbanks in the summer in a single room log home hauling water/outhouse so glad it was not January... :)
Comment: Thank you so much for the card and those beautiful postcard cards. Also, thank you for becoming a teacher! I am sure you made an impact on your students. My best childhood memories are of school and my Headstart teacher. I am positive your books will bring smiles to the classroom.
Comment: Pamelia, Wow I cannot even begin to thank you enough for this final package, so many fun goodies, and my favorite and most treasured gift has to be the book "Speaking Dementia". I just began to flip through the pages and was just so amazed by what I was reading, its perfect for me and the girls at work to refer to and talk about! thank you! And thank you for always communicating with me on the swaps being late/ early, etc. You were a good partner. Congratulations on your new grand-daughter! I hope this 6 week swap was as delightful for you as it was for me!
Response: I am so glad you liked everything, especially the book. My mother died of some of the physical complications of Alzheimer's (she lived 9 years after being diagnosed) so I truly understand what it is like to deal with those suffering from any dementia, and Freena has helped a lot of people. She will be delighted to know you will be putting her work to good use. Good luck with your work -- you are in a field that truly needs some earthly angels. Happy swapping!
Comment: Thank you very much for the quotes. I can understand why you sent 11 of them. I tried to imagine which ones I would leave out and really couldn't decide which ones that would be! I especially liked Anne Frank and Henry Ward Beecher's quotes.
Response: Glad you liked them. The Anne Frank one is one of my all-time favorites! Happy swapping!
Comment: Thank you so much for the beautiful and neatly made ATC :)! I totally agree with you; the lady is beautiful! I also love the other embellishments you used. So happy to have this great piece of art into my collection! Best wishes and take care!
Comment: We received the "Sticker For the kids" swap. Thank you so much to you and your granddaughter Elise, she did a wonderful job Mason LOVES all of the stickers. :) Also thank you for the great bookmark, it will get some great use. You guys made this a memorable swap for my son. :) By the way how's the weather down there in AZ? ;)
Comment: I just love this postcard!!!!!! I Love rattlesnakes (as long as i dont ever see one to close!) and being from Florida origninally, thats kind of how I feel about tourists! There is an Oklahoma card that has rattlesnake chili instructions I will have to try to find that for you! :)
Response: Glad you liked him! I haven't had the chili, but I have tasted like rattlesnake -- pretty bland, not much really distinctive flavor, at least when breaded and fried. Happy swapping!
Comment: How great that it was Q and quilting! I've had lots of fun with these letters myself. It was 74 yesterday and now it's going to be 28 tonite! Can always get warm but getting cool is another story, that's why I've been fond of the north. Thanks, happy quilting!
Comment: Thank you for the beautiful Thomas Kinkade card! It is by far the prettiest one I have received so far this year. I also love the stickers and bookmark you sent. The stickers will be used as envelope closures for future cards I send out for the holiday's! Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Comment: Thanks for the lovely zentangle. This swap was the first one of those I've done and it was great fun! You should definitely come back to England, if you want to stay outside the big cities then I recommend Cornwall - lots of quaint little fishing villages and seaside xx
Comment: Oh wow! Thank you so very much for your tea section, just perfect! More thanks for the fantastic postcards..I also wish I could be there! Amazing. Your daughter is very lucky:0)
I can't wait to sit back & relax over a 'cuppa'
Comment: One of the prettiest postcards I have ever received! Thank you so much! (And sorry, for rating late..)
Where in Germany did you live?
Response: The first time was in 1951. My mother, grandmother and I were among the first dependents to be allowed into Germany. (We were not allowed to use American money for the first year -- we were given printed "scrip.") We lived in Schweinfurt, Frankfurt, Bad Nauheim and Heidelberg. After college, my husband entered military service, and we lived in Karlsruhe, and our second child was born in the Army hospital in Heidelberg. I would love to go back again!
Comment: Thanks so much Pamelia. I look forward to trying the chicken recipe. I've actually been looking for new uses for chicken so thanks to you and your daughter :) Hope your swap is just as lovely.
Comment: What a neat zentangle ATC! I like the even openess of it (if that makes sense). I continue to be amazed at how people interpret & create zentangles! Thanks for the postcards, too! They will make a nice addition to our collection.
Response: I am so glad you liked it! I was a little hesitant as I wasn't sure it qualified as a true zentangle, but I tried to put in some "filled in" areas, and it just wouldn't let me! I am very glad it went to someone who felt the same way. Happy swapping!
Comment: Thanks so much for the postcard! It was very cool! Definitely one I will treasure as I add it to my newfound collection of postcards :D
The fact that you went out of your way to read my profile and find something that fit it instead of just sending anything deserves a star. Thanks so much! :D
Comment: Glad to meet a former Hoosier. I went to IPS, graduated from Washington High School. My husband went to Manual and all of my kids graduated from Southport. Thank you very much for the card. It looks like a great place to stay. Take care and enjoy this cooler weather!
Comment: Thank you for all the goodies! The earrings are super cute and the puzzle letter is a very neat idea. My sister loves mole and is looking forward to having me make her something, haha. The ATC is awesome, thank you for incorporating my likes :)
Response: Thank you again for your patience. I am glad you liked everything, and I did have fun working things into the ATC. I hope you enjoy the mole with your sister. Happy swapping!
Comment: Thanks! I would love to visit Alaska! I was reading the other day about these glass-topped igloos where you can spend the night under the Aurora Borealis. That would be so cool. Literally though, because they are 29 degrees on the inside.
Comment: First, your Zentangled A is great! I love what you did and even the apple on it, what a cool idea. Next, thank you so very much for this nice postcard, I really appreciate it and the fact that you read my profile. I would give you a dozen hearts if I could, but SB only will let me give you one!
Comment: Hello Pamelia....thank you for the lovely ATC's. I like them very much. I don't know the game you wrote about but I have seen the movie and it is one that I have enjoyed more than once. Haley Mills was precious in the role of Pollyanna. Tuesday
Response: I'm glad you liked them. The game is very much like Pacheesi, although it has detours that add to the interest. And you are right -- Hayley MIlls was perfect as Pollyanna! Happy swapping!
Comment: Thank you for the great ATCs. It was a neat touch to spell out the color name. I'm anxious to try the soup recipe. The corn recipe is very similar to one I make every Thanksgiving, delicious. Thanks for making my day.
Comment: Thank you for the moose card. I've never actually seen one up close and can't imagine that big of an animal looking in my window. The first card I've received with the new postcard stamp too.
Comment: Gabrielle, Thank you for the Christmas card! It was nice of you to choose something from my profile. I almost missed the card...The post office had tucked PCs inside of a magazine and I found them just a few minutes ago. Whew! I bet it was hard to part with this card - it is charming! Thanks again and have a Happy Easter!
Comment: This was a fantastic list-- I appreciate the time you put into it. Please copy and paste into the body of the e-mail in the future, though, as it's scary to open attachments from strangers, they could have viruses and all...
Comment: Thank you for your suggestions, I think I might have to avoid Ammie, Come Home though, I'm not very good with scary books ever since I read The Shrine by James Herbert, which I couldn't even finish!
Comment: Thank you for the pretty state flower PC. I've never been to Arizona and have never seen these giant cacti but those little flowers look so pretty against something so huge. Thanks for the note as well.
Comment: Thank you for this great swap letter.
Your own poem is really wonderful and I hope that I see in a few years ago, the same can be said of my relationship.
The poem about the Yukon is also very nice and maybe I come to visit this beautiful country once, in order to fulfill an inner desire.
This swap was me a great pleasure.
Comment: Too cute ~ I loved the butterfly theme! I will definitely use the ones on your greeting card in a future project (they did match perfectly). Thanks also for the extras. I look forward to trying the candy :)
Comment: Thank you for the lovely package! I had no idea what the contents were due to the weight of the package. I couldn't think of one thing I was in that would weigh that much and would be coming from America. I was pleasantly surprised by the contents. I loved everything and the tiny stuffie you made me was adorable! Thank you so much for the lovely package.
Comment: Worth the wait :) Thank you for the lovely swans...I got a bonus two! woohoo! What a creative idea using the bendable wax stick. Do I just put it in light to activate it? Thanks again :)
Response: Hopefully light will work. I tried direct sunlight, but I think I didn't leave it exposed long enough. Hope it works for you. They are fun to work with anyway, although they do better when you combine them to make more substantial items. Good luck.
Comment: Hi Pamelia, Thanks for the wonderful ATC!! I love it! I also love the bookmark about the candycane. I have never seen that story. So thanks for sharing it with me. I hope you had a wonderful holiday season. Again, thanks. Nancy (grannystamper)
Comment: Hello Pamelia,
Thank you for your "Quotecard Postcard #42 you sent to me with your 2 quotes you wished to share. I like how you shared your 2 quotes--an "old favorite" and a "new find." You introduced me to two new quotes which I will be able to add to my quote collection. So, thank you for that. Hope we have other opportunities to swap with one another in future swap experiences in 2011. Have a wonderful holiday season and a positive 2011.
Comment: Wow. These postcards are just gorgeous, and so many. I don't which to choose as a favourite. The goldfish card was also great, so funny. Thank very much.
Response: i'm so glad you liked them! (Including the goldfish card) I especially love sharing anything about Alaska and I knew you were interested in AZ ones so it was fun getting them together. Hope you enjoyed the jackalope, too! Happy swapping!
Comment: Oh this was soooooooo beautiful. I have never heard of reverse painting... But I love the card you sent me. I am really loving all the work people put into their cards. Thank you sooooo much. and Have a great Thanksgiving.
Comment: Thank you so so much! The stickers you sent are so pretty and the card....well, I know you had no way of knowing this....but I needed it so bad. You were right on time! You even put in your note that you were not going to write on that side of the card so that I could use it for my collages.....and that is exactly what I needed it for. It's perfect! Thank you, thank you, thank you!! Now I can finish this collage that I have been trying to get done for months. I was looking for the right touch for it....and you sent exactly that! Thank you for your thoughtfulness and consideration too, I know you had to of read my profile or you wouldn't have known about me and collages :)
Response: I am so glad it worked well for you! I did read your profile -- I usually do unless it is just domething like a sender's choice PC -- and I just thought you might find it useful! I am so glad it worked out -- and I would love a picture of the final product if you could e-mail me one. (No, I don't facebook, in case you would think of that.) Again, I am glad you liked my package! Happy swapping!
Comment: Hi Pamela, Thanks for the wonderful ATC's!! I love them. You did such a great job. I, too, have had both knees fully replaced and I know what you mean about pain. But now, they are the only joints that do not hurt all the time. Hope you get over the pain soon. Again, thanks for the great ATC's!! Nancy (grannystamper)
Comment: Fantastic postcard! Alaska from Space! I'm going to see if they have any other locations! I loved Juneau and the other costal towns when I visited from a cruise ship. We followed the crew to all the thrift stores and Mexican restaurants!
Comment: Thank you for my ATC's they are beautiful and I certainly appriciate all the effort you have put into them. I think my favorite is 'Wings and Jewels' but my daughters is 'Dragonfly Swirl'. So you can see we will all enjoy them. x
Comment: Oddly enough, I actually HAVE one of those kits! It's a catfood bag instead of a birdseed one though. And the letters and envelopes will be most useful for swapping. Thanks! And I would love information on Antactica!
Comment: Wow - These recipies are a keeper. Good stuff.. and, easy to make, too. Many thanks!
(and, I'm still trying to figure out who I meant this original rating for! lol)
Response: Thanks for the rating, however, since I haven't yet sent my recipes I think there must be sme mistake! Perhaps there is another Gabrielle who should get the credit! Anyway, wanted to let you know so you can rate the real sender. Happy swapping!
Comment: What a beautiful ATC. I think it's the best one I've ever gotten. Thank you so much. And thanks as well for the postcard and the kitty notecard. I'm glad you had such a wonderful trip to Germany.
Comment: Thank you Pamelia for the lovely swap. I graduated in '67 so I know what sweater clips are. The beads are beautiful and will wear them with pride and appreciation for you and your grandmother. God bless you too.
Comment: Thank you so much for the great ATC, I love it. The egg is beautiful, that was such a creative idea to use a real egg. The note was great. I have been to the midwest, but never to Arizona. You did a gret job with the packaging, it survived the shipping. Thanks for the postcard too, I love to learn about different areas. Happy swapping.
Comment: Hi Pamelia! I had a lot of fun looking through the prints and got such a lovely feel for your community and life, thanks so much for that! I confess that I got a giggle from the marble collection and of your granddaughter (and the nice Costco gentleman!) It was so nice to see the gorgeous scenery and peacefulness as well. Me? There's a six lane street right outside so pretty much constant traffic :D
Comment: Thank you so much - you are a truly awesome swapper - wish I could rate you more than a 5 :-) I love the geisha - and could never in a million years do her clothes as wonderful as you did. Thank you also so much for the extra paper you enclosed for me.
Comment: Thanks for the beautiful card of the great horned owls, one time I had a floral wreath hanging on my front door and a little sparrow made its nest there and had 3 babies, I think she was a first time mom and didn't know that wasn't such a good place to make a home.
Comment: How great! I love the wood and how you did these - beautiful! and both the people who sent to me are here in Arizona!! If you get up to PHX let me know and we can grab a cup of something or meet at a craft store!
Comment: Hi Pamela, Thanks for the great ATCs! I love them. I love the poem your Grandmother told you..Iit is so cute. Thanks for sharing it with me. Hope to swap with you again soon. Nancy (grannystamper)
Comment: I adore the cup and plate! They're so cute! And I can't wait to try the teas :) Thanks so much!
Response: The plate was sold to me as the saucer, but it is a thrift store and I am not sure they actually began life together -- just liked them too much to care if they actually match! Glad you like them, too!
Comment: Thank you so much for the awesome ATC! I've never see an inchie like that - it's perfect, and oh so cute! I'm glad it's mounted on a card because it will be easier for me to display! Very fun - thanks again :D
Response: I am so glad you liked it! I had a lot of fun doing it.
Comment: Amazing ATC, thank you so much, I love it :) And I can name all the characters, it is so cool!
Response: I am so glad you liked it! And I am impressed that you can name all the characters represented! The ones I thought was hardest were the Zax! You are obviously a real Seuss fan. Happy swapping!
Comment: I love lord of the rings too, how ever did you find a post card with that on it? I am going to go on amazon and read about the other two books you mentioned. I am looking for something new to read TY
Comment: Oh I love the map you sent me. How fun to look at the map and see so much green area by the water - so cool. I love postcards and the ones you sent are great. I was in Alaska almost 20 years ago. Me and a couple girlfriends flew in, rented a car and just drove around the state without a plan. So fun. We didn't make it to Juneau though. It looks beautiful.
Comment: What a fantastic homemade postcard! This is the first one I've ever received that wasn't store bought! I love the little dragonflies! I don't think I've ever used the "inside" of a punch before! The little pieces that cut out are so much cuter.
Comment: What a clever take on El Corazon-- I love it! :) And thanks for the beautiful Arizona postcard! Oddly enough, that's one place I've never visited (despite living in Colorado most of my life, and going to college in New Mexico)! I'd love to get there someday... :)
Comment: Wow! I'm impressed with your package, Pamelia. You chose a lot of nice tea bags for me and those extra cards and nice bookmark! I love everything, your package really made my day. Wish i could give you more than one heart.
First, love your name. Second, the ATC is very beautiful and creative. I have 3 grandsons, and 3 girls, and I was an assistant Brownie leader when my oldest was a Brownie. So I appreciate this great symblance of the Brownies/Girl Scouts. And finally, I love the card you sent and note you wrote.
Thanks again, and thanks for being a great swapper.
Comment: Thank you so much! This ATC was absolutely MAGICAL :) It was so thoughtful and original, very cool... And thank you to your husband for helping make it 3d! I really really love this ATC so much, I'm saving to read the quotes so I don't read them all at once!!! THank you thank you, cannot say it enough!!
Response: I am so glad you liked it! We had a lot of fun making it -- I love experimenting with 3-D effects. Happy swapping!
Comment: Sorry, for the delay. I thought I had rated your swap earlier. I certainly did enjoy the variety in your envelope. I have already used some of the items to decorate an colorful ATC. Thanks so much!!
Comment: Hi Pamelia, thanks so much but I am not sure what you mean by it being late and a resend. It is totally on time and I don;t recall e-mailing about it as the date is not passed. You must have me confused with someone else. Thank you, Karyn
Response: Actually it did go out a day late, and if I hadn't gotten a reminder it would have been later -- I thought the deadline was tomorrow! At any rate, I hope you liked it. Happy swapping!
Comment: Thank you for all the great and poems and some new to me poets, I will be looking up more of Ogden Nash, Robert Service and Edwin Markham. I enjoyed your own too.The others where old favs of mine as well, hugs :-)
Comment: I wish I could give you more hearts! I love the notecard you sent. I will be keeping it with my special kitty pictures. The recipe sounds very interesting. My daughter cooks wiht lentils, but I never have. this recipe will be my first! The post cards are great. I send out so many (about a 100 a year) and it is nice to get new ones. I LOVE the book. A new author for me. I couldn't put it down. Thank you for a wonderful swap!
Comment: Hello Pamelia,
Your postcard did fulfill the requirements even though the photo was played with by the photographer. I agree with you that it is spectacular. Wouldn't it be neat if lightening really did show those kinds of colors? Hope to get to swap with you on other types fo swaps besides these kind of swaps. Until we meet again, Happy Swapping!!!!
Comment: Thanks for sending a couple of your own poems -- everyone has been sending The Road Not Taken, so I'm happy to have new poems to read.and Rbt. Service is always fun to read.
Response: I know what you mean -- one of my partners ccidentally sent me 2 copies! Guess that just proves how many people Robert Frost touched with his poetry. I'm glad you enjoyed mine. Happy swapping!
Comment: Thank you for the gorgeous E ATC I love it you did an awesome job on the eggplant. Thank you also for the mooseberry tea I am looking forward to trying it. Thank you for the note and the postcard as well. It does sound like we share some interests. Thank you sooo much!!!
Comment: Thank you for the pretty quotecard! I love the effort you put into the card, and the "Enchanted Little Moments" characters are so cute! I really like both quotes! and I admire Maya Angelou as well! You're very lucky to have seen her!
Comment: Ok, Pamelia, so my profile didn't mention anything about cats...so why did you send me a postcard of MY CAT?!!! I'm not kidding you! This gray cat in the basket amidst all the flowers looks just like our cat! I've always said our Humane Society adopted cat looks like a Russian Blue and this cat postcard you sent looks just like her! Thank you! I'm giving you a heart for personalizing this postcard, especially considering that my profile didn't say anything about cats. :) Thank you!!!
Comment: That postcard was really cool, especially when I read the back info and found out it was a time lapse photo of stars. That is really neat. I did some of my most memorable star gazing in Utah, I suppose I'll have to check out the star scene in Arizona sometime.
Comment: Thanks for the AZ postcard Pamelia. Beautiful name you have. I've been to AZ a few times and love to visit the Sierra Vista area for hummingbirds in the summer. If I could, I would visit AZ and AK every year. Amazing places.
Comment: I just got the card that was postdated the 8th of Dec. The Christmas postal rush delayed it for a whole month! If you have already resent, please PM me your address and I'll send you a postcard back - just so my karma is sqaured up! Thanks so much!
updated Jan 8th - Got the resend in record time. Thanks a lot!
Response: You don't really have to send me a card, although I always enjoy getting them. So, the address is: 2648 Oriole Dr., Sierra Vista, AZ 85635. Thank and Happy New Year!
Comment: I am so sorry for not acknowledging your postcard earlier. I fell behind at swap-bot and just hid my head in shame instead of trying to do something about it. Now it is a new year and since I really loved being a part of swap-bot I decided that I had to do something about it, since I still want to be part of it. I was so happy with my mailbox when I was part of swap-bot. Please forgive me!
Response: Welcome back! It's a new year, and a new start -- I just appreciate your rating and trying to catch up. We also have 4 kids, and all of them plus their spouses and children have been here for Christmas -- 18 people at almost every meal! Lots of noise and excitement -- should drive me crazy but I love it! I hope you are having wonderful holidays, too. Happy New Year!
Comment: Thanks for the great postcard. I have visited cliff dwellings. I agree with you. The ones we went in had very low ceilings. You could actually see handprints on the walls. I really enjoyed seeing them. Hope you and your famly have a great holiday and happy new year. Your friend, Linda
Comment: Thank you for the nice ATC's. I love butterflies and you did a great job on the zentangle. I haven't made one yet but you've inspired me to try. Thanks also for the nice ATC blanks. I love glitz and glitter. :) Enjoy this nice AZ weather.
Comment: Your package finally arrived! Love the little bees you made for me. Shows alot of love, patience & creativity...Thank you so much. Oh, also wanted to ask how you managed to get the aida fabric so stiff for the brooch.
Response: I use a product for stiffening fabric called Fray-check. It is designed to keep edges from fraying but I use it all over the piece. White glue or Mod Podge also works, but takes longer to dry. Then I glue on card stock or occasionally Fun Foam to further stiffen the project and also protect the stitching. Glad you liked my efforts!
Comment: Thanks for the great postcard. This was a great swap. I went to the post office 4 times to finish mailing all the postcards. I did not have the postcards that you mailed to me. I have been to Phoenix, Sedona and the Grand Canyon, but never to Alaska it is on my list of places to visit . Happy swapping and have a great week. Smile, Linda
Comment: Thanks so much for the wonderful postcard. I've never been to Alaska, but I've always wanted to visit. Maybe someday. Weren't you scared that the bear was that close? I don't think I've ever been that close to one in the wild.
Comment: Thank you for the great rattlesnake recipe post card! I love it. I've actually seen this exact card, but never bought it. I went to college in Albuquerque, NM and my friend worked at the Rattlesnake museum. :)
Comment: Hi Pamelia, Thank you SO much for the wonderful Sesame St. ATCs. I love them! Your note and explanation of the quote is touching - very sweet. You did a great job! Thanks again, I will treasure these. :)
Comment: Thanks for my eco-friendly themed eco-friendly postcard! So true about it being a small world; I was just on vacation in Quebec and ran into a girl I went to college with (and she doesn't live there either)!
Comment: WOW. She's awesome. You really out did yourself. Words cannot explain how great she is. I will be taking a picture of her and all her clothes and putting it on my flikr page. one heart is just not enough. thank you.
Comment: Wow, girlfriend, you totally outdid yourself. If I could give more than a heart I'd gladly do so. Being new to ATC's (which I LOVE) I didn't know we could do stuff like raised edges -- cool. And that bookmark rocks. By the way, my senior citizen cat, Louie, gave a glance in my direction which in feline language probably suffices as kudos. Thanks.
Comment: Oh my goodness Pamelia! I love my rainy day package!! thank you so much! And just to let you know, I found your note very encouraging ~ so nice to have a Christian partner too.
Our family is 5th generation from Germany, so our grandparents spoke german. Hence the Kinder in my name.
Thanks again, you were so thoughtful!!
Comment: Hey, thanks for the 2 postcards, didn't expect that. I like the frozen waffles too and Girl Scout Cookies, say no more, they are the bomb. They don't last long in this house. Your trip to Mexico sounds amazing! thanks so much for sharing, Judy
Comment: Thank you so much for the tea and cookies package! I can't wait to try the tea from Alaska, and I'm always on the lookout for good decaffeinated tea for brewing. And the book-- a lovely extra! I'm going to set aside some time just for me very soon to sit down and enjoy the tea, book and shortbread. :)
Comment: Pam, Thank you so much for your bird ATC. Last fall I took a British Lit class and we studied Shelley and "The Skylark" Thanks for the best wishes to my daughter and for the ribbon. It was really nice of you! Love the personal touch of letter explaining the card. Frogs are always a fav.
Comment: This was a purrrfect swap! LOVE the kitty calendar and bookmark - and although I don't have use for the stamps, I know one little girl that will be extremely happy with them, so you made 2 girls happy today!! Thanks again for a fabulous swap!
Comment: Thank you for the amazing package! I love the Halloween Tree book. It has awesome art and I had never heard of it before. The apple chips were delicious too and I ate the whole bag already! Congrats on the anniversary! I've been with my boyfriend for a little over three years, just like Chelsea. I really like everything you sent. Thanks for all the extras too!
Comment: I wish I could give you a whole bunch of hearts! Your package was a true delight! Thank you so very much for the wonderful and bountiful assortment of teas, the bookmark (adorable!) and the really nice note. You made my day!
Comment: OH how I LOVE this group of cards!! We moved from Flagstaff 2 years ago and I MISS AZ! No, you can NEVER have too many bookmarks! Love the alter ego frog story, too! Thank you sooooooooo much!
Comment: Your package got here so fast. I love all the flavors and I so appeciate the abundance of the flavors. Too you write a great note (too the handwritting is pretty). Thank you for making my first swap-bot package experience so special. Bram sends special sheltie, cat stalker barks out to your cat, Sunrise (??? the cat's name got smeared).
Response: Actually, the cat's name is Samwise, as in Samwise Gamgee of Hobbiton on the Water (from the Tolkein trilogy). Mostly he answers to Sam!! Thanks for the nice comments, and extra patting for your Sheltie. I once wrote a poem about a dog named Bram -- if you give me your e-mail I will send you a copy.
Comment: Thank you for the lovely ATCs & the bookmark. My dream is to travel to Morocco...
I have bought tissues specifically because of what the box looks like! I love the weight of the resulting card & the fact that it's basically a freebie!
Comment: Pam, thank you so much for all of these wonderful cards, the cats are just awesome, but my favorite is the Siberian tiger that you wrote your note on. It is just lovely. I think I will frame the cats and not use them. Your awesome.
