Comment: This swap blew me away! Not only is the Tangle Book of Kells great, but the cards are over the top awesome. (I didn't even know they existed.) Your generosity will help to restart my lagging tangleosity. Thank you soooooo much! You deserve a big bunch of hearts.
Comment: WONDERFUL! What a perfect birthday package to receive from you. I feel so seen and understood. Each item is exactly right and filled me with joy. And the wrapping paper was so pretty! A wonderful swap – thank you so very much!!! If you ever want to do a private swap again, I’m all in. Happy Birthday Allison!!!!
Response: I'm so glad you enjoyed your birthday gifts! That was lots of fun and I'm thankful that you floated the idea out there. We'll have to do it again next year. :-) I will be opening mine this evening and will be back to rate you then. Have a wonderful birthday!
Comment: What an awesome explosion of color, shapes and texture! It takes my breath away! Thank you for sharing your art journal adventure with me. (It always amazes me how different our swaps turn out.)
Response: Our swaps are quite different, aren't they? I'm glad you like my frenetic approach to art journaling. I should have warned you not to look at it before bedtime. I'm afraid the burst of activity will keep you up all night. LOL! Thanks for the rating, matey!
Comment: I love your Learning Curve project. It's so cute! It's interesting how things can turn out better than you pictured even though they take so much longer than you thought they would. And that prep can be a lot of work and cost so much. Thank you so much for an awesome swap that was a surprise for both of us.
Response: I enjoyed making this for you and am relieved and excited that it was finally delivered :-) I love swapping with you. It's always a good experience! ♥
Comment: Thank you for another delightful swap. I think my favorites are those with the tiny flowers / flowers & hearts and the adorable Holly Hobby fabric--I know a couple of swap-bot friends who love her and I have ideas of what to make already! ♥ I really enjoyed this swap and hope you'll host more of these charm swaps in the future. Thank you!
Response: I do plan to host more . . . after I can get back into shopping at actual stores. My stash is a bit pathetic right now. I'm glad you enjoyed the swap. I had fun putting it together for you (after coming out of my brain fog) and look forward to the next round. Thanks for the nice rating!
Comment: I love your psycho-neuro yellowness! Both the envie and the card are very cool. And Hamlet was very pleased to get mail from Coco. (He gave it a good sniff.) Thanks for hosting this one. It's nice once in a while to work on whatever you feel like at the moment.
Response: I loved doing this swap. I think I'm over the psycho babble now, but it was a fun experiment and a great little rabbit hole for my watercolors to travel down. Thanks for doing this with me! P.S. Coco is super happy to hear that Hamlet was pleased with his mail. :-)
Comment: Takk så mye. I love the hybrid metallic gel pens! What a perfect secret surprise! Update: part 2 arrived today (2/1/21). I was hoping I would get to see your fun catalog zine. Thank you for sending me a copy.
Response: Verði þér að góðu! I hope they inspire hours of doodley fun :-) Thanks for the ❤️and for the swap-portunity to exchange mail once again!
Comment: Guess what arrived today! My cute cookieeeee! (I was beginning to wonder if the hungry snail mails ate it up on the way here.) I like the blue frosting, silver balls, and pretty ribbon. Thank you for the calorie free treat. And the card it came in was sweet, too.
Response: Did you try the silver balls? They're tasty! Thanks for the rating :-)
Comment: Oh my gosh, I love this zine so much! I've looked through it 3 times already and each time I see something new. Thank you! And thank you for the used stamps, too. I will definitely use them. <3
Response: Thank YOU for doing such a nice job with this swap. I really appreciate the fact that you followed the directions and sent your project on time. Hosting is a joy when swappers like you participate! I'm glad you like the zine I made. I had so much fun putting it together. Happy swapping :-)
Comment: I am really quite blown away by your sampler! It does not say beginner at all. You need to see mine for that! It's so intricately detailed with so much in the small squares. I will find a special place to display this treasure. This sampler swap was quite an adventure!
Response: I agree! This swap was an adventure! I definitely learned a lot. Thanks for putting up with my nervousness about the whole thing. It helped knowing I would be sending it to a kind person. Thank you for the nice rating and for the heart.
Comment: I love my leaf! It's beautiful. The beaded edging is awesome. (How did you do that?) The background felt does look familiar. I hung the leaf on my fake ficus tree so I can admire it. I like your calendar page envie, too. I want to do something with the Halloween barn. Thanks for providing me with an exceptional Happy Mail day! I love getting swaps from you.
Response: You got your ornament quickly! Yay! That felt looks like suede, doesn't it? If I remember right, the beaded edge is a blanket stitch with a bead dropped on at the beginning of each stitch series. I'm really glad you like it! Thanks for another fun swap
Comment: I don't have to "grow to like it" as you wrote in your note because I LOVE it already! The colors are perfect, and I really like the scrappy edges. Thank you for an awesome swap. (And thank Coco for her contribution to the envie.)
Comment: Oh my goodness. First, I love the notecard. Second, your index cards are just amazing. Third, I think my fav is the presidents, but then I look at the little girl and hold her up and that becomes my fav and then there’s the swirlies intricate design. Fourth, have I said you are so special for sending me such beautiful artwork. Thank you. I feel so lucky.❤️
Response: What a nice rating comment! Thank you so much! I'm happy to read that you like what I sent. Happy swapping :-)
Comment: Your Answers are much better articulated than I ever could. The fact that you said the museum is like a corn maze is spot on. I had a heck of a time navigating it, but what a great museum! I really enjoyed looking into Dali's surreal world. Thank you for coming up with such a fun and unique swap, this is exactly what we need more of here on the bot!
Response: I'm so glad I got to share this experience with you! What a great place. Thank you for the kind rating. Happy swapping!
Comment: OH I LOVE IT! Thank you for the beautiful patch. We actually just returned from a trip to DC although the cherry blossoms are not in bloom. On a drive through the Tidal Basin we reminisced about the past festivals we've attended there. So your patch is really just perfect - lovely, lovely job!
Response: My brother used to live in the DC area but I was never able to visit during peak cherry blossom season. I would love to see that! I'm glad you liked the patch. Thanks so much for swapping with me :-)
Comment: Thank you! LOVE this ornament! One of my favorite decorations is the tree on a car/truck! Reminds me of when our children was youngsters and we cut down our tree every year, great memories! On the tree already! Also the Christmas card I will be making that cookie recipe! You have blessed me! God bless you ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Response: Excellent! I'm so glad I got to send my ornament to you, then. I thought it was a super cute pattern and am glad it will be enjoyed, hopefully for years to come :-) Merry Christmas and God's peace to you and yours.
Comment: WOW!!! I almost don't know what to say, the needle book is gorgeous! The boro & sashiko influence really comes through and every little detail is perfect. Thank you for also sending along the extra fabric to add details, its like a collaborative project! ;)
Thank you so much for this wonderful little piece of art, I can't wait to put it to good use and show it off! I would give this swap a million hearts if I could!
Response: Welcome home! I'm glad you're happy with your needlebook and hope you can customize it to match your needs. Sorry I wasn't as smart as I thought I was in doing that for you. :-) Thanks for the nice rating. Happy swapping!
Comment: This is truly a work of art. So much movement and play with textures! I have never before seen the intriguing technique you used, and want to try it for myself now. Your attention to detail is impressive, and I loved hearing about your inspiration for the piece. Thank you for a beautiful little treasure. ♥
Response: I'm glad you like it! It looked like nothing but a tangled mess until I added the little house. The process was quite enjoyable! Thanks for participating :-)
Comment: This was amazing to read, it made me laugh so much! Each new thing was like, "Yeah, I can handle that!" Honestly operatic Metallica would make that drive so much better, I've done it when my husband had an account in Stockton. I get carsick too, the bags are already under the seat! Separate vacations from my family? I don't have to get up and feed all the animals?! WHERE.DO.I.SIGN.UP. Oh, and I'll totally sleep in my son's bed, it's the newest and most comfortable in the house! My husband is the GM of the casino bank, he'll school you all day long to get you in there so he can win your money. It's open 24 hours, I'll get that train ticket money back from you on a roundabout way in no time!!! I'm gonna need a lot of beer for The Shining... I'm familiar with Rancho Bernardo, I got you for sushi and Ben & Jerry's; I've learned edamame is really filling. The Lookout is a fabulous place to see the sunrise over the lake, oh and as for your fresh cream... Well, we have to drive right by the dairy on Corydon to get to and from the casino so consider it done (I'll even get you some of the world's best chocolate milk, 6% fat and worth every calorie). Paddleboats haven't been made available at Launch Pointe yet, but I'd be happy to paddle you around the wetlands in our kayak - the wildlife is beautiful. I have done more Vegas turn arounds than I can think of to go to the airport to pick someone up and send them home - back and forth and back forth. Maybe you can burn a Metallica cd for me for the ride home!
Super fun swap, I loved it!!
Response: Oh, man! I made that way too easy on you! Your husband might actually be the only one suffering here! LOL! I do think we would have a lot of fun together. :-) Thanks for doing this with me! I'll be sending your hostess gift next week. Fade to Black . . .
Comment: I like it! And its title cracked me up! (I do have to admit that I had always pictured Coco as a blonde, so the color of her contribution was a surprise.) Give Coco the Wonder Dog a hug and kiss (minus the vaseline) for me. Thanks for joining me in this fun (though immensely weird) swap!
Response: Nope! Coco is dark and mysterious. :-) Now that you've seen it, you have to admit that my twinchie is kind of disgusting, right? It's ALWAYS a pleasure swapping with you...even when our projects get weird. Thanks!
Comment: Your resend has arrived and I absolutely love the way you packaged them up. Mine were the size of your smaller ones - I like the bigger size, too. Thanks for putting so much work into these scrappy circles :)
Response: They made it! Go, scrappy circles, go! I'm very relieved that they arrived and are happy in their new home. Thanks so much :-)
Comment: Your final set of coins is absolutely gorgeous! I love them, and their titles as well. This 4 swap series was the very best kind of challenge, and you are the best partner. Thank you so very much.
Comment: Thank you for sending not only one, but 3 lovely prints. The tree and garden prints are great, but I especially love the Eiffel Tower print. (I was hoping you'd send that one.) Thanks for hosting this swap, and for nudging me outside my comfort zone.
Response: I know you like to see my rejects. LOL! I'm glad I ended up deciding to send that one out. You're helping me learn not to be so fussy. :-) Thank you, thank you for joining this swap and sharing your lovely pieces with me. And, of course, thanks also for the nice rating.
Comment: Thanks for the great blossom stamp sheets, the explanation on the back and even a blossom stencil! And so wonderful in combination with the deli papers. I'm going to try this once I can find myself some time (and deli paper, not common a thing we use over here).
Comment: I absolutely adore the Van Gogh coins you painted for me. They took my breath away. And I am quite fond of the envie you decorated. (I will be sleeping with it under my pillow this week.) Thank you, too, for the sparkly hearts, green stamps and washi samples. This swap came on the perfect day (it was vampire day for me). Wish I could give you a whole sky full of ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥s.
Response: I'm glad you like them! Thinking of you this week and sending cyber hugs. :-)
Comment: I absolutely LOVE my trio of wing themed coins. They are beautiful! I was already smiling when I saw how awesome the envie was, then I smiled even more when I saw the coins. Thank you so much Allison.
Response: So glad you like them! Thanks for the swap and the heart. See you again in a few weeks. :-)
Comment: I must confess to being confused. You messaged me and put in your note that you were worried I might not like them. You were right, I don't like them. I ABSOLUTELY BLINKING LOVE THEM! Honestly, you should have way more confidence in your abilities, the earrings are absolutely beautiful. They are exactly my style, and if I were choosing earrings in a store, I would pick these. I know I am going to be wearing them so often. Thank you does not cover my gratitude xxxxx
Response: Whew! That's great news, Zoe! I'm so glad they actually are your style! I'm also very happy that we both received out pieces in the same time frame. Thanks so much for swapping with me. It's always a pleasure. :-)
Comment: Oh, how fun to get a swap from you!! I love how you carried the dog theme through the whole swap, and of course the ATC is just wonderful. One of my very best doggies was a boxer who came to us via the local shelter. And can I just say your handwriting is beautiful? I'm jealous! Thank you so much for brightening my day. :)
Response: My dog's best friend at the shelter was a boxer. According to their foster mom, they had waaaaay too much fun together. :-) I'm so glad you liked your swap and look forward to swapping with you again!
Comment: It is wonderful!!! I immediately ate 2 pieces and tried to leave it alone for the rest of the day. Was successful for about six hours, haha! Thank you SO much for the cards you put in the box as well! I love Harper's birds. Thanks again!!
Response: I'm drinking a cup of Lighthouse this very moment as I'm checking messages and am very glad to read that you like the toffee. I think we both scored! That was a fun swap. Thanks!
Comment: Oh happy mail day! (You even included stickers that back that up.) I love how your Pocket Letter turned out. It's awesome. I love the tangles, the quote, the floating snowflakes, and the very generous assortment of goodies. It amazed me that even with a very open swap description, both our interpretations were pretty similar. I would give you basket full of hearts if I could. ♥♥♥
Response: We did something similar??? I'm very curious to see what you made now! Maybe tomorrow. (Mail always seems to be slower traveling in this direction.) I'm glad you like what I sent. Thanks a bunch for the basket of hearts. :-)
Comment: Soooo Pretty Allison! I'll have to find some of that flocking powder to try for myself. Thanks!
Response: I actually wanted to send you flocking powder as an extra because I didn't have anything on your wish list, but I've had it for years and can't find it now. I'll keep an eye out for it. :-) Thanks so much for the rating and heart!
Comment: Guess what awesome thing showed up in Colin's mail box today....."Colin Mows" is the coolest thing ever! He loves it, and so do I. You outdid yourself Allison. I hope you don't have to wait too long for his to show up in your mailbox.
Response: Wow. That was speedy delivery! I'm so glad he likes his book. That last picture is supposed to be a front-end loader moving the first row of snow, but the printing company cut most of it off. Those little devils. I'm looking forward to seeing what the two of you made! :-)
Comment: Allison, this was such a wonderful swap theme...and I love your "x" and "o" twinchies! Now the song is running through MY mind! I hope my partner enjoys her twinchies as much as I enjoy receiving yours!
Response: What a nice rating comment! Thank you! And thank you for participating in this challenge. It was fun :-)
Comment: Thanks for the great Juneau PC. My collection that includes capitols is really of the actual capitol building; however, I love seeing the actual capitol city and wonder how it must be to leave there. Thanks again and I hope you're having a great week ~~
Response: Rats! I was afraid you might be collecting the actual buildings. I'll be on the lookout for the capitol building and send it to you if I find one. :-) Thanks for the heart!
Comment: There really are no words to express my gratitude for this swap. Your generosity and kindness are truly without measure. The care, time, money and love that went into that box shone out the moment I opened it. I still cannot believe how many wonderful things you sent. The sweets!!!! I cannot wait to try them all! The wonderful pieces of amethyst are going on my shelf of awesomeness! and truly, there is simply too much to list here, but please know that you have made me feel so special. I actually sat and cried while I was opening everything because I could not believe that someone had gone to so much trouble for me. As you know I have been feeling very down and disheartened about swap-bot just lately, but you have restored my faith in humanity. The words are not enough, but they are all I have right now, so Thank You.
Response: I had so much fun shopping for you, Zoe! The merchants in the little stores on Main Street got an especially huge kick out of helping me find things to fit the "Flora and Fauna" bill. They all know each other, so they were giving me ideas about where to find what. Now I need to host a scavenger hunt swap of some kind so I'll have an excuse to get back down there and do that again! Thanks for swapping with me. ♥ It was a blast!
Comment: Allison, this is a perfectly charming card! I agree that the hoouse stamps are terrific, and so is your coloriing of them! Now you have me thinking about "fantasy houses." What a great mind game! Thank you so much!
Response: I had such fun making that for you. I'm glad you like it. Thank you very much for the rating and heart. ♥
Comment: I can hardly believe how fast it got here. I love it! It's so bright and sparkly and uplifting---a perfect reminder for gray January days. I love seeing how differently we each interpret the same swap guidelines. 2-12-16---Another atc arrived today and it is gorgeous! What a lovely surprise. I wish I could give you lots of ♥s.
Response: That really WAS fast!!! The ATC is bright and sparkly and my heart was in the right place when I got the Diamond Glaze out to make "Breathe" look like it was underwater. What happened next is anyone's guess. (Sorry that it ended up being so bulbous.) I agree: it is fun to see how each person interprets a swap! Thank you for swapping with me, Jo. It's always a pleasure. ♥
Comment: I find all your monoprints beautiful. These techniques are a new challenge for me to try this on the gelli plate. Also thank you for the sheet package paper. And I'm very pleased with the gelipaper, i loved it to used it on the gelli plate.
Response: I'm so glad you're joining these swaps and trying new techniques! Thank you very much for the rating. :-)
Comment: I love these envelopes and thank you for so many! They are very beautiful, lined and sturdy too. I can't decide if I like the Geraldine the pig one or the organic peas one the best! I love them all and will certainly use them, thanks so much! (Oh..also I love the chicken on the outside of the envelope you sent them in...I need to put on my profile how much I love chickens! :-)
Response: I couldn't find the wine envies after I told you about them. I put them in a very safe place. Haha! I know where they are now, so maybe I'll send you a second package with those in it sometime. :-) Thank you for the rating and heart.
Comment: It came and it is hilarious!! You did an amazing job making it your own and I love the holiday theme. I love the tag, love the snowman poop...well I love it all actually...just hilarious.
Response: Happy Mail Day! Hurray! I confess...although I moan and whine and complain throughout the entire zine-making process, I really get a kick out of these swaps. I love the challenge and thoroughly enjoy seeing what everyone else does. So, thanks for hosting "Wreck This Zine" swaps and kudos for putting up with my bad attitude! I'm already looking forward to the next one! ♥
Comment: WOW!!!! Oh Allison....where do I begin? Your work is absolutely awesome. I am blown away. I am going to be selfish and keep the notecard/envie for myself. (It's really interesting how our swaps, following the same guidelines, can turn out so differently.) And thanks for the yummy, restorative chocolates. (They came a day before the envie). I wish I could give you a hundred ♥s. Thank you so very much!
Response: What a relief to have that finished and in your possession! I'm still glowing from the nuclear fallout. Ha! Thanks so much for the rating and heart and especially for joining me in this strange experiment. It was a blast!
Comment: Are you kidding?!? Wow! Beautiful job... You really captured their persona as both a couple and as individuals... The tint technique is amazing... Just wonderfully created true works of art.. So glad they are mine!
Response: I'm glad you like them. I think they're okay as individual pieces, but I was disappointed they didn't look more like a set. I'm happy you joined Ky and me in this challenge, and I'm looking forward to swapping with you again. Thanks so much for the rating and heart!
Comment: omg!!! how creatively fantastic! what a mind you have...and artistic talent...can't say when I've enjoyed getting a swap this much...so inventive..."how to draw a trex...thanks so very much...
Response: Awww. I'm so glad you liked it! Thank you for the rating. :-)
Comment: I loved your scream! I sometimes feel that way about opera myself. It was crazy hard but it was a great idea. Thank you for the ATC and hosting this crazy idea!
Response: I'm so glad you liked it! The second sentence on your profile scared the living daylights out of me! I held my breath all the way home from the post office. LOL Thanks for being crazy enough to join! Hope to see you next time. :-)
Comment: This is such a pretty envelope! I love it - and the note card too!! Thanks for the Starbucks card! Talk about a profile surprise! WOW!!! : ) Have a good day!! You are very generous and thoughtful. Much appreciated!!!!!
Response: I'm glad you like it! Enjoy your trip to Starbucks, and thanks for the rating. :-)
Comment: Oh Allison, thank you for visiting us. Thankfully you're not high maintenance at all!! I'll be happy to drive to Paris and meet you at 6 in the moring, it's only a seven hour drive, so I'm good for that. I have asked my brother to come along, he's an experienced photographer. So that will work out fine :-) My son is just learning the alphabet so he's now re-arranging your fridgemagnets to alphabetical order, I am sure you support his creative outbursts. You were slightly off key with the Bohemian Rapsodey, but so am I.... We're all ready to have you here, cannot wait xx
Response: Seven hours??? In that case, I hope you're a very good driver since we'll need to burn rubber to get back to your place in time to do everything I have planned! Please get one of your responsible neighbors to watch your son while he has my magnets. I would hate for you to have to replace any of those due to breakage! I'm glad you joined this swap. :-) I read the letter to one of my friends and she couldn't believe I would have the nerve to send something like that. LOL Thanks for rating, MAMAAAA!!!
Comment: Thank you so much!! The card arrived today - and it looks enough like me that I immediately recognized the picture! You did an amazing job. I love the card, and I'd give you more hearts if I could. What media did you use? I loved the slightly metallic accents...
Response: I'm glad you like it. I could see specific places where it wasn't quite right, but I couldn't seem to get it any closer. i used Prismacolor pencils with baby oil, metallic gel pens and acrylic paint. Thank you for the heart and rating. :-)
Comment: OMG - Allison.....this is one of the most beautiful things I have received. You did an awesome job...I am afraid mine will disappoint you. But seriously....this is one of those swaps that absolutely deserve a ♥!!! Thank You
Response: I'm glad you like it, Grandma! (Nana? Oma? PG? What will it be?) Whatever it is, it will be a GLORIOUS name! I'm looking forward to seeing her little face on your profile page. :-) Thanks for the heart.
Comment: Ohhh I always feel lucky when I get you as a partner. I love the ATC. I really appreciate the theme! Yea buddy. The color scheme is pretty -- I never think of blues and oranges but they are complimentary LOL. I really like the colored pencil on vellum trick -- will have to try that. I haven't swapped ATCs for quite awhile and I am happy to add this one to my album. Hope you have a fabulous summer planned. <3<3<3
Response: Well, THAT is a very nice ratings comment! Thank you! I'm so glad you like your ATC. I hope you get back into swapping those because I want to get at least one from you. :-) (You already know I think you're fabulous.) Happy Summer!
Comment: I've been swapping tea for years and it's the first time I receive the "Ashbys" brand. I'm looking forward to trying it. I love your handmade enveloppe and the way my address was handwritten, so cute. :-D
Response: Let me know what you think of the Ashby's tea. I have almost every flavor they make, so I'd be glad to send more if you like it. Thanks for the rating. :-)
Comment: Wow! You're sister-in-law must be an amazing person. To send a card and letter weekly for 27 years--how awesome is that? You are one lucky person! Thanks for sharing this bit of information with me.
Response: She is pretty awesome. :-) Thanks so much for the rating!
Comment: Oh my GOSH! Awesome swap! Imagine my delight when I opened my mailbox and saw *the* most fantastic envelope, complete with a blue monkey (squeal!) and my address written in calligraphy. I knew I'd find the contents to be wonderful before I even opened it, and you did not disappoint. The prints are just great (I so need the circle Gelli plate!) and the ATC is stunning! I couldn't be more pleased. Thank you SO much for such a thoughtful and amazing swap! I'd love to swap with you again anytime! Extra hearts! <3 <3 <3
Response: I'm so glad you liked everything! The monkey was fun to make, and it gave me a chance to come up with at least one use for Gelli prints. lol The round plate is cool, isn't it? Thanks so much for the swap, your kind comments and the rating. I look forward to another private swap in the future. :-)
I have been carrying my card around it is so beautiful. I love the detail and stamp. Thanks a bunch. Added bonus is that you were from Oklahoma, too.
Response: I'm so glad you like it! That stamp is one of my favorites. Thank you for joining me in this swap and for posting a heart. :-) (Oh, and I'm sorry to say I'm not from OK. But I've driven through it and thought it was beautiful.)
Comment: Thank you so much for the tea and the wonderful card you made. Really love that beautiful photo! Did you make it yourself?
Response: Wow, Anicka! That got to you really fast! I didn't make the card. I have a friend who makes them to sell at craft fairs. She takes the pictures in her flower garden or on trips to the mountains. Thanks for the rating. (((hugs)))

Comment: Love Christmas Cards with Birds on them... and What Great Recipes for me to Try... love the Trim on the Recipe Cards...Molasses Gingersnaps are a Favorite of mine too.. Have 6 jars of Molasses down stairs... My Grandma used to make Soft Molasses cookies that were about 4 inches across and 3/4 inch thick....yummy Now that was a Cookie...
Response: Thank you for the rating. I hope your grandchildren enjoy the Paul Bunyan cookies. Those were always my favorite as a child. Happy baking!
Comment: Allison, thank you for the lovely postcard... Your card reminded me to be thankful for something I have come to take for granted- never having gone hungry in my life... Thank you for the reminder that I have lots to be thankful for! I hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving!
Response: Nice comment! I'm glad you liked the card. Thank you :-)
Comment: Two things to share with you: 1st is that I LOVE this card. It is so pretty. I am going to find a way to display it in my room. 2nd is that I love the 'wander' theme. I used to fly every other weekend for about 3 years, so this was perfect :D So again, thank you for a beautiful card!
Response: Yay! I checked your profile twice to make sure you weren't afraid of flying before sending it to you. lol I'm thrilled that it actually applies to your life! Thank you for the rating.
Comment: Beautiful fall photos - thanks for the not one, not two but three lovely notecards! I love the gorgeous trees and I was super drawn to the empty pots. I really enjoyed hearing about your yearly SINK/DINK fall camping trips. What a cool tradition and what fun time you and your friends must all have!!!
Response: I'm glad you liked the notecards, Laura! Thank you for hosting a great swap!
Comment: Thank you very much Allison for the Blue, Butterfly profile based surprises, I LOVE them all!! My mom , who was visiting, was excited too LOL. Thank you for a beautiful swap :-)
Response: I'm so glad you liked it! I do hope you can use the embroidery patterns. I couldn't find any cross stitch butterfly kits here. Too bad I didn't know your mom would be visiting. It would have been fun to include a surprise for her too! lol Thanks for the rating. :-)
Comment: Dear Allison, thank you very much for this extra-special postcard! I agree that it probably travelled more safely this way; thanks also for the bubble wrap. And yes, that is a pretty famous "rock" you sent! Thanks a lot!
Comment: Oh my. I really did interpret this swap like someone who can't read! Your bird is SPECTACULAR!! I love the red and especially his feathers. :-) Your drawing of Benecio is fantastic, my BF was super impressed with your pen and ink skills. Me, too! Thank you for such a wonderful swap!
Response: Hey, you can't really misinterpret this swap. It was so mutated, who knows what you were supposed to make! I'm so glad you like the bird. I did the drawing before I assigned partners for the pen and ink swap. I figured if I didn't send to you I could still use it as a surprise in something else. In this case, if you had hated the bird, maybe you would have had mercy on me. lol Thanks for the comments and rating. Swapping with you is always fun. :-)
Comment: Good morning from a sunny Copenhagen and thank you SO MUCH for an awesome package!
I love the way you wrapped it all up; didn't want to open the inside wrapping at all but that would have made the swap very difficult to complete, LOL. Thanks too for the extra envies and the lovely bling!
Now to determine which envie will be going back to you... decisions, decisions..
Thanks again, anni :o)
Response: I wish I could have mailed myself in the package to sunny Copenhagen! lol I'm glad you like the envies. I'm looking forward to seeing which one you choose and receiving your embellished version. Thank you for the rating and heart. :-)
Comment: Thank you for the absolutely gorgeous envelope! I will put it in my box of mail art treasures. The greeting card you sent -- with the bumblebee on the wildflower -- will go up on a shelf in my art room. It is a glorious photograph! The stamped images, the fun Christmas embellishments, and the blank cards will all be used with delight! Thank you for a wonderful package of goodies! <3<3<3
Response: I hope you can get the stickers off of the mail art. I almost went postal when the clerk starting sticking crump to the envie! Anyway, I'm glad you liked everything. Thanks for the rating. :-)
Comment: Thank you for the awesome Butterfly on flower ATC. I think the details are amazing. Did you use different thickness of pens?
Love what you did with the envelope as well
Response: Wow! They both arrived on the same day? That completely ruins my theory that postcards get the shaft! I'm glad you liked everything. I think I used the same fine line pen to make the entire ATC but ended with a wide calligraphy marker to add the shadows under the flower petals. Thank you for the ratings!
Comment: I cannot imagine that this could have been more perfect for me! It is so INCREDIBLY beautiful and the subject matter so dear to me heart!!! Your talent in so many mediums never ceases to amaze me. I'm hoping to get together again so I can have a few more lessons! Thank you, again, for an amazing piece of art and for hosting such a fun technique!
Response: I'm so thrilled that you're my 100th swap partner! And how cool is it that we got together to work on the technique for this particular swap? Thanks so much for the comments, rating and heart. I'm glad you liked it. :-)
Comment: I got home from a couple days away and my mailbox greeted me with two fabulous swaps from you! I adore the crybaby that you made!! It is clever, sad, beautiful, and just a little bit creepy (in a good way!) all at the same time. You are an incredible artist!
Response: LOL! It is creepy, isn't it? I think he looks like an anemic Don Rickles. Thank you for the comments and the heart. :-)
Comment: Oh my, I don't even know how to begin to thank you for this amazing swap!!! From the cute bear postcard, the oh so sweet dog stamp, and your beautiful handwriting...to the super creative way you figured out how to send me a Starbucks gift card in a postcard swap! Wow! I could see how much time, effort, and love you put into this swap! Thank you so SO so much! I can't stop oohing and ahhing at it, lol! And by the way, I can't stand haunted houses either, there's something about a man in a mask chasing you with chainsaw that doesn't appeal to me. ;) THANKS AGAIN, I WISH I COULD GIVE YOU 100 HEARTS!!! <3
Response: The gift card was an experiment. I'm pleased to see that it made it to you! So glad you enjoyed the swap. Thanks for the nice comments and the heart. :-)
Comment: I am very impressed, you did an amazing job on the envelope and it is beautiful! It is the perfect size and I will certainly be using it to store some craft goodies. I loved the "wordy" fabric too...thank you sooooooo very much for such a great swap!
Response: What a relief! I've never been happier to complete a swap! LOL Thank you for the positive response. I do hope you will enjoy it. :-)
Comment: Thank you for the GORGEOUS Cavallini PC. I will have to try to find some more of that style. Love the little 1989 story you told -- and I agree I feel the same way about swimming in deep ocean water! <3 OK I know you told me to remove the washi tape but I only took it off the bottom the reveal the card's title because 1. it was just so dang pretty on the postcard and 2. it was underneath that beautiful postage stamp and 3. it had your city of origin on it! But now I have removed all of it and revealed the THREE gorgeous Cavallini postcards! Thank you thank you (you sneak) for such a generous swap! <3<3<3<3<3<3<3
Response: Hey! Did you remove the washi tape border??? Thanks for the heart! ETA: I feel better now. haha
Comment: WOW Allison -- I love the postcard you sent me! I have a VERY hard time with this technique. Maybe I was trying to control it too much? Yours turned out to be spectacular! It is going up over my computer for some daily inspiration (delightful title too). Lucky me to be your partner for this one! <3<3<3<3<3
Response: Woohoo! You're such an amazing artist, I was nervous about sending something this artsy to you! I'm so glad you like it! Thanks for your comments, rating and heart. BTW - I'd love to see a picture of yours when it's finished. :-)
Comment: What a beautiful swap! Love the notecard and that gorgeous metallic copper envy it comes with...I LOVE copper, and your homemade card/envy is awesome cute. Also love the winter photo card you used to send them in as well. Thank you. :-)
Response: I'm glad you liked the copper envie! That's what sold me on that card. Thank you for the rating. :-)
Comment: What a fun ATC, and what beautiful presentation--thank you so much! The funny thing is (and maybe it's really just that my mind is a little funny...) that on some levels it does pull together and have a meaning. Again, thank you.
Response: It is weird how these ATCs ended up making sense on some level! That was a really fun challenge. :-) Thank you for the heart.
Comment: I got your beautiful atc and am so excited to find a great place to display him. I am going to be re arranging my craft space again and hope to have a display area then for the wonderful artwork I receive. He will definitely be one I want to see each day. Thank you so much.
Response: Oh boy! I can pretend I have a piece hanging in a gallery, then! Thanks so much Jess. :-)
Comment: Allison - What a GREAT card!!!!! I hope my garden looks half as good as all of these cute embellishments! Thanks, too, for the seeds - I don't have any daisies in my garden yet. This was a sweet idea for a swap series. I'm constantly impressed by your brilliance!
Response: No daisies in your garden yet??? I'm pleased that you will be able to do something about that now! LOL Thanks so much for the kind comments and the heart. :-)
Comment: Allison once again your work is absolutely Fantastik. Not one but 3 different zentangles and they are all wonderful. I know I will be selfish and keep all three for myself to enjoy. I love all the hearts you used and the pendant in "The Jewlery Box" - oh my. I am in awe of your endless talents. These tangles are so perfect and uniform. Thank you so very much for such a Fabulous swap. I do love being your receiving partner. Hundreds of hearts to you.
Response: Thank you Judy! I always enjoy sending things to you because you're so sweet and appreciative! I'm glad you liked everything. :-)
Comment: You AMAZING cards are here! Really, fantastic job! I mean, I can't keep them forever but I can't send them either :( cause I like them so much! Will probably mail them to my mom or dad... so they will comeback here! :D
Response: LOL! That's great Maria! I'm so glad you like them. Thanks for the rating and the heart. :-)
Comment: Beautiful, Beautiful Collage PC Allison. Your talents still amaze me. The postmark date was perfect and I love the cardinal stamp. May have to display this card so it can spin to show the great collage on front and your beautiful handwriting, zentangling & stamps on back. Thank you so much you ROCK!!
Response: Isn't it so cool I could resend that postmark forty-three years later to the date? I was pretty happy about that. :-) Thanks, Judy. I'm glad you like the card.
Comment: Your envies arrived and are WONDERFUL!! Can't believe how beautiful, my favorite...... can't decide!! Love them all, the beautiful flower... the tea cups..... and even with matching coordinated stamps!! Wish I could give you 5 hearts!! Thanks ever so much. (also, the mailing envie was Awesome... my PO was very impressed!!
Response: I'm so glad you like them! I had fun making them for you. Thank you for the heart. :-)
Comment: Allison I LOVE my Masterboard Inchies! Little critters peeking out, flowers and trees, a sweet color palette. They have me itching for spring and getting back to my gardening. Thanks for the extra 3 embellished ones - they are wonderful! <3<3<3
Response: That was a fun technique! I'm glad you like them. Thank you for the nice comment and the heart. :-)
Comment: ABSOLUTELY AMAZING and that doesn't do your work justice. I am again so glad to be on the receiving end of your swaps. Please know that I doubt these words will even be adequate to convey my appreciation and pure joy with the book you made for me. It is probably by far the most amazing thing I have ever seen crafted. I absolutely LOVE THE ENTIRE BOOK. The papers you chose, the colors everything is so perfect and so me. Thank you so very, very much. A zillion hearts for you.
Response: And thank YOU very much for being such a sweetheart! I'm thrilled that you like the book and, although I did plenty of whining to you about the process, I was glad I got to make it for you. You're one of my all-time favorite swap partners. Thank you for the encouraging rating post and the heart. :-)
Comment: Both the inside and outside envelopes are beautiful - no wonder your postal clerk loves seeing your mail art! Thx for sending me two puzzles - fun to do and pretty to look at! That is quite the big resolution you have made - I hope you do it! Hugs, T (";)
Response: Thanks Terry! That's just one puzzle. I divided it into two sections so I could fold it into the envie. Hope you have fun with it! Thank you for the heart. :-)
Comment: Thank you very much for the awesome PM regarding @TerryF, she is truly a lady and a great person to know. I also know she will absolutely LOVE the delightful card and candle you sent. You put so much thought and care behind it, and THAT is why I am giving you the ♥ for this swap. You are a super swapper and this swap was about doing something kind for one of our most favorite swappers on SB! You achieved that and more! ♥
Response: Thank you for your kind rating, Paige. I appreciate it very much. :-) (And I agree. Terry is one very special lady...as are you!)
Comment: Thank you for the awesome postcard! I really appreciate your alterations. I am, however, very sorry to report that the googly eye did not survive the journey even though you packaged it so well. =( That is okay I will put on another!
Response: Really??? That's a bummer! Let me know if you'd like me send another googly or two to replace that one. I have more exactly like it. Thanks for the heart! :-)
Comment: I was going to give you heck for sending this UPS until I actually opened it - such a precious and wonderful piece of art should not have chanced the regular postal system, so I thank you for that. (";)
The poem and your art, as well as the explanation, are absolutely beautiful and amazing! I am going to start a special box just for the swaps you have sent to me - they deserve to be treasured and admired every once in a while. Thank you so much dear friend! Hugs, Terry xxx
Response: Oh Terry, I'm glad you didn't give me heck! My friend mailed this swap for me because I wasn't feeling well that day. She thought my urgency in getting the swap in the mail meant it had to be delivered as soon as possible. It was an honest mistake. Anyway, I'm very glad you like it and really appreciate your sweet review of the project. Thanks for having a heart for an irresponsible postal customer. :-)
Comment: I loved your card - very original. I'm not sure what your others turned out like but I'm glad you kept trying until you reached this piece of art. Thanks so much for hosting this unique process and for the GREAT card!
Response: I'm glad you like it! Thank you so much for the rating. :-)
Comment: Oh I so love your handwriting! So I tried to guess whats on the card after looking on the envelope. My first guess was a tree, than I flipped the envelope around and thought: hm, maybe a fairy. Very accurate! Love all the swirls. You can see my drawing to Terry in my flickr if you want to laugh :) Thank you for the cute mushroom Inchie! Great Extra I will put to the Inchie Quilt! Thanks for hosting!
Response: I can't believe you guessed it was a fairy! I checked out your Flickr photo. Such an ambitious choice of pictures! Most excellent. :-) Thanks for the rating and for joining the swap. It was fun.
Comment: OHHH! What a lovely writing on the envelope :) Did you used stencils? I can not believe you are a beginner. These Inchies are fabulous! I hesitate a little bit to touch the spider :) How did you make the net? The alien is great too, I cant believe the yellow net stayed in the place. Very cool! You could if you like add a frame, like you take the Inchies and put the sides on an Inkpad. Thanks too for the lovely card and note.
Response: LOL! I'm glad you like my writing. I don't use stencils but I do usually use calligraphy pens to address envelopes. That spider is horrible, isn't it? I was happy to get him out of the house. :-) I sewed the net with a needle and thread, then I put Diamond Glaze on it to give it dimension and added a thin line of glitter glue so that it would look like rays from the star. I'm very happy to hear that you liked it! Thanks for the tip on adding a frame! I received one today with that added touch and thought it looked great. I appreciate the rating and comments. Thanks!
Comment: Oh Allison - these are so wonderful! I got tears in my eyes reading your note, about the one inchie being made to honor my marriage with my dear Tim! THANK YOU so much - I truly love both of them, but that one especially will be treasured forever!!!
Response: I'm so very happy to know that you liked your inchies! The "Love" one, inspired by your profile, was the first one I've ever made. :-) I liked it enough to make five more just like it! Thank you for including my inchies in the thread you started in the TPD forums and for posting a heart. I appreciate it!
Comment: AMAZING and thank you so much. Never would guess you hadn't been making these little wonderful pieces of art for years. They are wonderful. Not a spec of criticism just a ton of admiration. Thanks for the "ingredients" listing as well, always nice to know what's in a great piece of work. Your presentation was spectacular as well. THANKS for the wonderful smile you sent my way.
Response: Awww, Judy, thank you for being so encouraging! I hope those little guys fit nicely into your quilt. :-)
Comment: Thank you for the gorgeous inchies -- hard to believe these are your first attempts. The color combos with the embellishments are excellent! The themes of the two you sent pair up perfectly. I really love that wrapped thread technique. It gives the inchies tons of detail. Beautiful job! <3<3<3
Response: I'm so glad you like them! I can't wait to get home and see the ones you sent to me. You're such an amazing artist! Thank you for the kind words and positive rating. :-)
Comment: These inchies are wonderful and just right! Thank you so so much. I love love love them! I can't wait to be able to put the quilt together. ♥♥♥
Response: I'm anxious to get home and start collecting the pieces of my quilt, as well! That was a wonderful introduction to the world of inchies, Paige. Thank you for hosting the swap and for the positive rating. :-)
Comment: Great first attempt! The inchies you made are beautiful and presented so nicely. I'll be working on my first ones this weekend and can only hope they turn out as nice as yours! Thank you so much:)
Response: Good luck! Thank you for the positive comments and rating. :-)
Comment: OH Allison..........First attempt...NO WAY.......darlin.. they are outstanding!!!!!......... and your use of materials is so clever!... I truly love them.. Thank you sooo much.. HUGS a Bunch!! cj
Response: Yippee! I'm thrilled that you like them. Thanks, cj :-)
Comment: L O L !.......Girl i am still giggling from unwrapping and rewrapping that yarn.. My sides are aching from laughing at my DH......... When i got the box I was on my way out the door... So I only had time to open the box and left the ball on the coffee table.. Later when I got home my DH says, "What kind of decoration is that? Is it patriotic?...I think it needs some stars." I just broke out in laughter.. and said, "It's a Surprise Ball."... "Oh"... was all he said.. then sat down to watch me unwind... As things dropped out he would go chasing after beads, and buttons.. and soon it was a game and the dog just keep staring at him.. and by the time we reached the candy he was wanting to take over and hurry it up and I wouldn't let him.. Very interesting Halloween goodies and tags... so cool!.. love the keys/brads. and already drank the tea.. YUMMM!!... That was S O O O much fun.. I sure hope your sis enjoys hers.. HUGS A Bunch ... cj
Response: That's great! If I had known they would enjoy it, I would have sent one for your DH and the dog, too. LOL Hope you don't step on any stray beads with your bare feet in the morning! I'm glad you guys had fun with it. I'm looking forward to seeing my SIL's reaction. :-) Thanks for the heart.
Comment: Woooow! The ATCs are absolutely amazing. The collage is is awesome and so moving in itself and then your drawing skills are making me really envious ^.^ I loved your note, the note card and the envelope too. For swappers like you there should be a million hearts option ^.^ I'm also happy that you liked the poems by Rosenstock, he's definitely special ^0^
Response: I'm very happy you like your ATCs. I think they went to a good home. :-) That was one of my all-time favorite challenges. What an ingenious way to plan hand-drawn ATCs! Thank you so much for the kind comments and rating.
Comment: I am astounded by the wonderful journal that you sent. I love it! It is very inspirational and very beautiful. I have not had time to fully explore it but am looking forward to taking time to enjoy a more indepth exploration of its contents. Thank you so much for your wonderful work. I would be happy to do a private swap with you at any time. I wish I could give you 100 hearts!
Response: I'm so relieved to know that it made it into your hands! I hope you enjoy it. Thank you for the heart. :-)
Comment: My.... OH MY! What a beautiful and generous selection of napkin transfers! I had so much trouble with this process, and you did it so beautifully.... thanks so much for sharing and for all the extra pieces!!
Response: I'm glad you like them! Who knew napkins could be so much fun??? Thank you for posting a heart. :-)
Comment: Your cards are beautiful and Abbie was sooo excited to get something - she loves it! She said "My first swap! Can I keep it?" lol. I think you made her day. I checked out your butterflies - I especially like the collage. (Hope your zucchini brownies were good!)
Response: I'm so glad Abbie liked her card! Tell your son I thought of him too. I just didn't have any party favors for boys hanging around in my odds-and-ends drawer. Thanks for the heart and quick rating. :-)
Comment: Thank you so much for the Snow White matchbox! It is so elegant and beautiful. I love the color scheme you chose (consequently red and black are 2 of my favs.). I thought all the little trinkets inside were so smart - esp. the coal/gold and sewing needle! I wasn't quite sure about the sticker bling at the bottom though (a music note?). Thank you again, this was def. a fun swap! Yeah, I did see the red sparkles and thought they were blood :-p Ok, now I know it's a 7!
Response: I forgot to tell you to ask if there was anything that didn't make sense in the box, so I'm glad you mentioned the bling! That's a number seven. I used the 1857 version of the story. Black, white and red are strongly symbolic in that version, as are the numbers three and seven. The red jewels on top are supposed to represent the three drops of blood in the snow. I'm not sure if that was apparent. Thanks again for doing this with me. It was a great experience! And, thank you for the rating. :-)
Comment: Thanks for the great egg! I loved the card as well! I know my profile says that I am from Colorado, but what it doesn't say is that I was born in Grand Junction and lived there until the 5th grade. Small world, huh?
Response: It IS a small world! That's really weird! :-) Thanks for the rating.
Comment: This is one of those "extra special" swaps that puts other swaps to shame. *This* is how it's done! From the beautifully made mail art envie, to the extras (4 teabags! And address labels in the swap theme! And a great, chatty, picture laden intro letter!) But most of all, I'm blown away by your artistic ability as shown in the ATC. Abstract, yet immediately recognizable. Evocative. Stunning. One of the best swaps ever.
Response: You made me feel like a homecoming queen with this comment! I'll be doing the "parade wave" for strangers all day! Thanks so much, Pam!
Comment: Beautiful card and title - thx! (";) Update April 9: I finally had a chance to see your PC "live" (I rated it from a scanned copy sent to me by DH). It is absolutely amazing - you are so talented!
Response: Thank you, Terry! That kind of feedback is so encouraging! I love TPD and the Bot!
Comment: Oh My Gosh! This was way beyond my expectations! The care you took and the presentation was so wonderful! Everything in my favorite colors! WOW! I love your playing field--I wish everyone swapped like you! Thank you so very, very much!!!
Response: After reading your profile, I could tell you were due for a special swap! (I feel your pain! LOL) I'm so glad you liked everything. :-) Thanks for rating.
Comment: Thank you so much for all the trouble you went thru to get this to me. I love it the card is very unique I would love to learn to make cards like that. The bird stickers were great Birds are so hard to find here lately. The ATC was great and I do love a good rum and coke. Hope we get to swap together again.
Response: Thanks, Marlene! I had a lot of fun with this swap. :-)
Comment: Allison!!!! What can I say? But WOW, AWESOME, TREMENDOUS! The best stickers I have ever gotten in a sticker swap!! And the best extra surprise........your Frida is amazing! If I could give you a million hearts, I would. We can trade anytime and you can join any of my swaps! You're a keeper :)
Comment: Okay, I opened the card first like you said....but I couldn't stop at the card. LOL I tried....for about 10 seconds maybe. LOL They were staring at me begging me to open them. They were all nicely individually wrapped like little gifts. I couldn't help it....Thank you very much.
Response: That's funny! I should have secured them with little locks and sent you the combinations on the correct days! LOL. Glad you had fun with it. Thanks for the heart and the quick rating. :-)
Comment: Thank you for the lovely card. I love the combo's of papers you used. The env liner really tops it all off. Thank you very nice. The stickers on the mailing envelope are nice and you have beautiful calligraphy.
Response: I'm glad you like it! Thank you so much for rating quickly and for posting a heart. :-)
Comment: This isn't a sticker...it's my heaven!! You did a wonderful job on your background ..I can hear the waves... So glad you saved the sticker for me!! Loved the envelope it came in the gorgeous card and your re-cycled big envelope... Perfect swap... Thank you I am very grateful
Response: Those materials were so YOU! I couldn't wait for you to get that swap. :-) Thanks for the heart.
Comment: OMG!! Loved my envelope and all the Tim Holtz goodies. He's my favorite!! Wish I could give you more 5's and hearts, cuz you deserve them. If you ever want to do a private swap just let me knowk looks we kind of have the same style!! Awesomeness....have a great week!!
Sorry for all the exclamation marks, but I was super pumped when I opened my mail box. You really made my week!!!!!!
Response: SO glad you liked it. Thanks for the enthusiastic response and for posting my first heart! I'll be looking forward to a private swap. :-)
