Comment: These are awesome!! I love that you take the figurines out on your hikes so you can get the perfect background! Octopus and Raccoon are going up on my art wall... very inspiring! Thank you so much!! ♥♥♥!!
Comment: Rebecca, I really enjoyed reading about your days in February. I love how you appreciate little things like windchime's sound and the smell of flowers! Just imagining it makes me happy. Thank you for the beautiful postcard and the lovely pamphlet, I love the colors! I hope both of you have great days and may 2021 be a better year 💙
Comment: WOW! This surpassed what I expected to get in this swap! You did an amazing job! I LOVE the post card of the little girl. Victorian art can be so amusing! The musuem looks amazing! They did a beautiful job in designing it. Not only does it hold art, but the building itself is art. I checked out your blog and really enjoyed reading it. I love, Love, LOVE the pamphlet you made! Sweet little things like this make my day! THANK you so much!
Response: I'm *so* glad you liked it all : ) And thanks for this great feedback: your kind words really made me smile!
Comment: Thank you for the lovely photos. I too take pictures of clouds and pretty much anything in Nature. How did you get them printed on post cards? Love that idea and would love to do so with some of mine. Thanks again.
Response: I'm glad you enjoyed the photos! Walgreens printed the photo postcards I sent, but I think they're phasing out that size of card (which is a bummer). I've also tried the photo postcards from Walmart (which can be hit-or-miss on quality) and Moo.com (which are high quality but pricier). I hope that helps!
Comment: Thank you for these precious works of art.
1 of 2: I love the title you chose: "sprung tune". Description and erasure poem in one, how clever! I also like the combination of booklet and leperello binding and the scrumptious creamy paper.
2 of 2: Another intriguing idea, brilliant! I like R and T best; both are poems in their own right.
Thank you for these utterly charming items. You are a true artist.
Response: Thank you so much for these kind words--they made my day! And, of course, I'm so happy you enjoyed the booklets!
Comment: Thanks for the autumn flower postcard! I'm at work, but I think it was a type of orchid, right? or lily? Anyway, of course, I loved it. I reminded me of a photo you'd sent to me a couple of years ago. Thanks, too, for joining in!
Response: Yes, it was a member of the orchid family! One of our neighbors knows a lot about Arkansas wildflowers, and she was really impressed that I came across one. It's the first year either Chris or I had seen them, so I'm wondering if they're fickle bloomers or if we'd just not noticed them before because they are so small and delicate.
Comment: Belated, belated (I thought I was up-to-date with rating, but I am now finding mail that was mislaid by family members) thank you for the whimsical, intricate salad oil art and colorful Jimi Hendrix stamp :) I also wish more products were simultaneously beautiful and functional! Hope you are enjoying the fall <3
Comment: Thanks for the lovely card and letter--and for the holiday greeting that had nothing to do with the swap! Oh--and for the Mt Fuji postcard. I'm placing it in my planner so I can look at it every day. Your greeting is on the way!
Comment: I fell in love with your photography the moment I saw it! Would love to talk to you more on how you took these beautiful pictures, Bec!
Response: Thanks so much, Tearryn! I'm not a trained or technically clued-in photographer, so for me it's lots of trial and error as I learn how to hold my camera in such a way to catch the play of color and light as if the water or a wet window were a kind of canvas. It brings an element of chance to the enterprise--I'm never really sure if I'm going to "get" something or not....
Comment: Thank you very much for your wonderful letter. It was an interesting experience to read a crossed letter and I enjoyed reading your musings. A pleasure to get such a thought-provoking letter! I adored your "Alphabetical Austen" and beautiful photos too. Thank you again :) I hope you don't mind if I write back, I would love to comment further on what you wrote.
Response: Thank you for the warm reception of my crossed letter--it was such a fun experience to write! And, yes, it would be lovely to hear back from you, but (of course) no pressure....
Comment: You spoiled me with this swap! Thanks so much for the update - hope the plan for monthly quality time goes well - the postcards, and the wonderful quotes. Good luck with your paper! Wishing you the best for the rest of the semester.
Comment: Love, love, love, love, love, love swapping with you! I thoroughly enjoyed reading your letter (will be reading it again when the house is quiet). I appreciate that you wrote it on such beautiful postcards! Thanks for the tips...I'm recording them in my "work" notebook so I can have them WHEN I need them! I love the journal too. I am a journal addict. I have about 10 going right now (slight exaggeration). I, sadly, haven't sent your letter yet. Crazy first week of classes, of course. I plan to sit down this weekend and write. Thanks again! Hugs and hearts!
Response: Thanks for this great feedback! It was such a pleasure to write to you, and to choose cards and strategies to share. The first week back to school is always nuts--you will deserve a restful weekend ahead!
Comment: Thank you for the wonderful cards and messages. Sounds like you had a very exciting 2012 and a great 2013 coming up. Your work on fairy tales is intriguing. Best of luck with your publishing company. What a wonderfel endeavor!
Comment: Thank you for the beautiful rose PC, the note and the quote. They certainly brought a smile to my weary face today! How lucky you are to witness these beauties twice a year! Thanks, too, for participating in the swap!
Comment: I love the idea to use cards for the journaling - I would have never thought of that, but it is a good way to use up a lot of the extra cards I have stashed away. Your hand writing is exquisite! I enjoyed each of your entries. I am glad to know that someone else out there requires tailoring on their pants - but you have a whole inch on me! (Which I say as I wear my jeans rolled up in cuffs... lol)
Comment: You are so very sweet! I love both of the postcards, you did a wonderful job. I would love to learn how to do my own postcards. Any hints? Bonnie
Response: Thanks, Bonnie! I use winkflash.com to have my photos printed as postcards--it's super easy (and addictive). To tinker with my photos digitally (as I did for the bird postcard), I use Photoshop Elements. Have fun, and happy swapping!
Comment: THANK YOU so much! Your generous package came right on time--at the end of a particularly trying week. I quickly read everything, but will spend time savoring it later when all is quiet. I love the postcards (your photos, right?), the quotes, the STAMPS (awesome! Wm Johnson is one of my fav artists). Thank you, thank you, thank you! Many, many hearts!
Comment: Thanks for the great postcard and all the details about what you teach. How exciting to teach "ancient" languages and work with students to translate the Book of Ruth! Kudos on still standing with an overload. Are you compensated for teaching the extra course? If so, I hope you do something wild and fun with the $$$!
Comment: Hello Rebecca,
It is wonderful to meet up with you again, some 5 years later. Thank you for the pleasant note you sent along with your quote from A.A. Milne. Yes, when I see a balloon I am always cheered up. So, I will put this postcard somewhere special so when I need a little cheer I can look at it. Thanks for a great quote and postcard that work so well together.
Comment: Thanks for the TWO beautiful flower postcards. My husband grows sunflowers in our garden but the blooms have finished now. Next year I will have to remember to photograph them. Thanks for organising the swap also.
Comment: Beautiful flower and quote, thank you! Thanks also for the extra PC. You take great photos and I would like to learn more about photography, as I love to garden. Where do you get your PCs printed; I love the finish!?
Response: I'm glad you enjoyed the photos & quotation! I upload my photos & have them printed as postcards at winkflash.com. The matte finish came out very nicely I think....
Comment: Hi Becka! Thank you so much for the pretty black and white photos, they are great! I love black and white photos so much. I really like them all, you have a good eye. The dunes from Death Valley is my favorite image - so much depth and mood. The hand on the tombstone is amazing, the dirt and weathering over time really gives it character. Good use of space in the image with the utility pole. The moth image is so gritty, I love the textures. They will be going up on the wall in my loft. I try to fill the walls with inspiration. The envie of quotes is such a neat idea. I will read one every day. :) Thanks again for swapping with me. Your package is going out today. Look for a white and green package. :) Take care, Aloha.
Response: Thank you very much, Dana, for your kind words!! I'm glad you like the sand picture--it's a quiet image, but it's one I keep coming back to myself....
Comment: Dandelions are one of my fave flowers-i esp. love them when they go to seed like this one! Yes, i still make wishes on them, but i didn't know i get one wish for EVERY seed! Beautiful image-thanks for sharing! Happy swapping & shooting!
Comment: You will never believe this...the Fitzgerald fairies PC you sent me...well I received the exact same postcard for this same swap on the exact same day, but from a different person!! What are the odds? Good thing I like the PC so much, huh? Thanks so much for being psychic with @darzy30.
EDIT 10/22: I received your other card today. You totally didn't have to send me another just because I got a duplicate. I love them both. The Midsummer card you sent is great. Thank you so much!
Response: That's a crazy coincidence, for sure.... I just wrote a new card for you that'll go out on Monday. If you receive(d) that card from someone else, as well, then we'll know that the universe is trying to tell us something--but what?
Comment: Thanks! Got your card several days ago but couldn't decide who it was from, I've looking all over swap-bot for Pat Conroy! - what a quote! I haven't even been to ukulele group all summer - I miss it a lot, it so much fun. Good Luck to you! Hope this years' class will be delightful!
Comment: Rebecca, thanks for sharing your days with me! I loved hearing about harvesting honey from your bees. I taught a class during summer term once because my department was in dire straights; I wouldn't do it again - six weeks of six hours each week plus prep was a lot to do in addition to my own coursework, plus a full time job. :) Have a relaxing summer! Jolene
Comment: Beautiful postcard. Wish I knew how to make such professional looking pcs out of my own pictures.
Response: Thanks for the rating, and I'm glad you enjoyed the postcard! If you want to have your own photos printed as postcards, there are a couple of good sites I've found over the years. I use winkflash.com (the least expensive), but in the past I've also tried cafepress.com and moo.com. You just digitally upload your pictures, and they do the printing (it's really fun). Have a good day!
Comment: Hello... I liked your postcard very much!
Thanks for sending the extra one, also! That is a very pretty rose. I do many photos of roses, too. I especially like to do them very closeup. Happy swapping. ~Gail
Comment: Thank you for sharing your diary postcards with me. You seem like a busy, happily married woman, an involved teacher who enjoys what she's doing and someone who's in touch with each day. I hope you get a real good group assembled for your summer trip to London.
Comment: AWESOME photographs! Thank you so much, I love the negative picture and the black and white forest is just crying out for a spooky companion. Thank you so much. I take lousy photographs so I can truly appreciate someone's talent. You are very talented.
Comment: Rebecca - Thanks for the great card! The roses remind me of a Motawi tile I have. (Motawi is one of our regional tile studios: http://www.motawi.com/store/index.php You might like them too!) Have a good weekend! Jolene
Comment: Dear Rebecca,
Thank you so much for the quotecard and the extras beautiful photocatd with nice quotes and best wishes.
I wish you and your husband all the best through out this new year 2010.
Take care & have a nice time.
Comment: I loved reading your list. It was a nice way to get a glimpse into what 2009 meant to you. Thank You so much for your gorgeous photo postcards as well. They are hanging on my inspiration board.
Comment: Hey Rebecca, sorry it took so long to rate you. I thoroughly enjoyed reading all of your postcards and I really enjoyed the photography on them. It's so neat to have a peek into the life of others and I think that photography and writing is a wonderful way. Thank you for sharing with me, I appreciate your letters. Take care and I hope you had a wonderful New Year's Eve/Day.
Comment: WOW! My very first postcard through swap-bot and it is wonderful!! I love it! It's nice to know that people actually pay attention to your profile and the type of cards you prefer! Thanks so much!
Comment: Thank you for the lovely card! I'm a Winnie the Pooh fan too. :-) [Edited: the second card arrived today - beautiful, unexpected and very much appreciated. I wish I could give you another heart!]
Response: Thank you, Jenny! I'm glad it got to you relatively smoothly & quickly; I was worried that the strike might hold things up.
Comment: Thanks for the pretty postcard. I gave you a heart because you included two poems for me on one card and both are Asian in nature and one was even a haiku! I love haiku poems. Did you read about me before you picked these poems or was it a wonderful coincidence? Either way, Thank You!
Comment: HI, Rebecca,
what a lovely postcard!! That is really amazing, I had to look at it more than once to be sure it wasn't a painting!! Very awesome postcard!!
Thanks so much...
--your swap pal,
Comment: Wow! This might be my favorite pc ever! I love the artwork! I have been storing all my PC's in this little 5x7 photo album that is clear and now I have to slide this one on the top for the cover! Thank you!!
Comment: Its great receiving your postcards, Rebecca. Thank you very much.
Response: You're welcome! It was a pleasure writing to you, and I feel grateful to have had you as a kind reader on the receiving end. (I hope both envelopes of postcards have arrived on your end by now, but if one of them doesn't make it, I hope you'll let me know.)
Comment: Very cool!! Thank you for the neat postcard, too!!
P.S. I'm not really a Vegan. The name confuses everyone. I'm a Native to Las Vegas, NV = nativegan. It was actually the name of my mock architect firm while I was in college. :~)
Comment: Thank you again for the lovely pictures. Clouds always make good pictures to me, and the details captured in the leaf picture is great. I will enjoy adding them to my photo album! The quotes are great, and thanks for the compliations of quotes, I really enjoyed reading them!
Until next time....Dawn
Comment: I received picture #1...I love it. I love old signs in historic districts. Great shot. Thanks for sharing.
I will update my rating comment each time I receive a picture so that you know I received.
Well I received all the photos now...all of the photos were great. I enjoyed seeing your travels and all the intersting places you see.
Comment: Sorry I didnt rate earlier! I thought I had already done this before now :)
I love the picture. Great architecture...great shot, thanks for sharing. Also, thank you for hosting such wonderful photography swaps. I like the varieties and challenges. I really enjoy them.
Comment: Lovely clementine photo postcard to illustrate and define your special word. I did not know Hesperidium and hope to remember it since I like fruits with rind that are divided into segments. And what a terrific concluding line about liking "the idea of food with mythological resonance."
Comment: Green is my favorite color, so all those different shades were great! Thanks for sharing your work! :) ...and all those green quotes were the perfect finishing touch, I enjoyed them a lot.
p.s.- I also like your handwriting!
Comment: How wonderful! A photo taken by you and what a great one it is! My husband said no one could take a picture like that. Imagine what a discussion that turned out to be! ( I so won!) Thank you very much - I also loved the quote!
Comment: Beckra, I can always count on you to make me emote...I love the quote you sent, but I especially love the photo you took, and the wonderful wishes you sent along!...You deserve more than one heart, darlin'...so here's some homemade ones! <3 <3 <3 Thanks so much!
Response: Thank you so much for your kind words; it is always a pleasure to send something to you!
Comment: What a fascinating note! I loved hearing about your childhood. I have been involved with theatre and the arts most of my life, and I think you received a real gift to have your background. And I received such a lovely gift of the postcard you sent. I had never heard that belief about dandelions, and I am enchanted. Thank you for a truly wonderful swap!
Response: You're so welcome. It felt so good to write about my childhood that I feel like I should be thanking YOU instead!
Thank you for your postcards. I loved how you sent me two so I could follow your progress. Funnily enough a lot on your list was similar to what I had one mine.Other than read something in another language.
Comment: Oh my gosh! I absolutely love my new set of photos! Rebecca thank you so much! I feel so lucky to have been your swap partner. I have never heard of a lomo fisheye camera, but of course the effect is timeless. Beautiful, just beautiful. Sorry to gush, I'm just overwelmed :) Thanks again, I hope to return the favor sometime in a future swap!
Response: You're so welcome--I'm glad the photos have a good new home! Thank you!
Comment: I got not one but two beautiful pictures of the moon:) Quite unique too, as you've made them yourself. Thanks for the stuff you wrote on the cards. A Persimmon tree sounds lovely, I'd like to have one too if I lived there :)
Comment: I love this card!! B/W photos of children are my favorite and I love everything to do with Death Valley. I have visited their twice and I think it is such a cool place. Thank you!!!!
Response: When I saw that you were my partner, I immediately thought of that postcard--I had bought a couple of them the last time I was in Death Valley, and I was worried that I didn't have one left to send you. But I was relieved to find that I had one more, and I'm so glad to know that it really was the right card to send to you!
Comment: received the card its great! i have never used a photograph for a postcard, do you have to prepare it in any way? thanks a bunch i love the picture of the moth! glad that you like the group so far!
Response: I'm glad that the card arrived so quickly & that you like the photo! I just upload my photos at winkflash.com & they can print them as postcards, which is really fun.... See you in future swaps!
Comment: We meet again! LOL! We have been partnered up a lot lately! But hey, I'm not complaining because I LOVE your photography!!!! Thank you so much for another wonderful work of art! I have my own mini gallery of your work :) And I'm still lovin' the square too!
Comment: I think your goal was a good one. You mentioned it might seem small but it's my opinion that anything that gets you writing is worth going for. You'll hear back from me before the contract period is up. Good luck! (And I'd love a copy of your written work even if it's not completely finished.)
Comment: I really enjoyed reading your notable things in 2008 list. I also love kayaking and having my own boat. Thanks for the chocolate vegan cupcake recipe. I'm breastfeeding and my daughter has a dairy allergy so therefore I can't have it either. I've been looking for some dairy free desert recipes and I'm excited to try it. Thanks also for the page of quotes and postcard.
Comment: Thank you for the lovely photo. I like taking pictures of architecture too. And the fabric postcard is lovely. Maybe you could use the fabric as a wall hanging so you dont actually have to cut it. :-)
Comment: What a wonderful idea -- the Big Book That Makes Writing Fun!! I'm going to send you and Chris copies of what I'm putting in mine. The Mount Fuji postcard is lovely, and the writing quotes spot on. Thank you so very much.
Comment: Thank you for a most insightful review. It was a delight to read through your year's progress. The included postcard was most delightful. In fact, when I am due to transfer in 18 months, we are hoping for a posting to Japan, where we can climb Mt Fuji. Lastly, the quotes were great, especially Gertrude Stein's. Not only is she one of my favorite authors, but the words you chose were spot on for my 2008. Thank you again, and I hope you have a wonderful 2009!
Comment: Rebecca, your note was such a GIFT - I loved reading what you wrote, and the quotes, too! The notecard itself was gorgeous. Thank you so much! Best for the holidays and the new year, with all its changes. <3
Take good care, Susan
Comment: I got both your cards today - because I just got back from visiting Canada, and then working in my brother's winery. What a treat! I love both pics of the moon and of labyrinths (my sister has one in her front yard!) Thanks so much for sharing - I love how they both came out!
Comment: Thank you. The postcard with the Phillies is great. I grew up in Philly, and my grandpa smoked Phillies (cigars). The recipe actually sounds good and we already use soy milk. Hmmm. Might just have to give this one a try. HA HA. Thank you
Comment: Thank you for your very thoughtful and thought-provoking card. I actually had a hummingbird build a nest on a large windchime on my front porch. I had the extreme privilege of watching 2 sets of baby hummingbirds grow and fly away. :)
Comment: WOW! This is the coolest postcard! I have no idea how you made it and I have never seen one like this! Thank you so much! I LOVE the hummingbird and the glossy like finish of the card! I just got the extra one, too. Thank you!
Comment: We have swapped quite a few times now, haven't we? lol I just adore your packages when I get them and this one was no different. The rock photo is very interesting and I love the classic feel of the sign :)
Comment: What a lovely (and appropriate) lotus and frog notecard you chose to write me such a nice message. You have a gift for writing - I feel as if I have visited your garden at various times of the year and experienced all the little details that you described. I'm also honoured to receive the wonderful microfiction of my friends hedger & psyche, I'll treasure it always! Thank you ever so much. Sam xoxo
Comment: Thank you so much for the ATCs! I knew I wouldn't be disappointed when I saw your name on my partner list. Your ATCs are hanging up in my cubicle at work. You rock! Oh, and I joined your Diary Postcard group. Thanks for the invite!
Comment: It came! Thank you for being such an awesome coordinator and for being such an awesome partner! I'm so glad you were able to finish your translations and get stated on your other goals at least. Thank you so much for the encouraging post cards and for the recipe... love it!
Comment: the anagrams are a really cool and unique way to do this swap...it could be a swap on its' own!...i liked the grim one, but at least you told me about it...great fun, super swap...YOU ROCK!...(you got a heart for the quote)
Comment: BOTH cards you sent were definitely unusual! I'm so amazed that you created the one yourself. It looks so professional! And that Native American sculpture is so sad and true (but most certainly unusual!). Thank you!
Your presentation was outstanding. Wish I could give you more hearts. What delicate wildflowers, and since my husband has 6 perenial gardens, I sure can relate to the beauty of nature. Also, thanks for the quotes from other minds, enjoyed reading them.
Comment: Thank you for sharing your dreams. I always find the connection we have to the important people in our lives beautiful. When my sisters call, I know it's them. It must mean our spirits are attached to one another like your student, your mother-in-law and you.
Comment: Oh, wow... these pictures in particular were stunning in my opinion. The moonflower has a GORGEOUS shape to it, and i -never- would have guessed the other picture was a dandelion! ...and the colors on the rose on the front of the card... I am truly impressed!
Comment: Rebecca....Thank you so very much for the interesting photos and your letter that blew me away. I felt while reading it, I was on that walk with you and had a lovely time. It was so nice of you to include the quotes also. I love them. Tuesday
Comment: What a delight to receive your notecard. I felt like we had had a visit, and a quite enjoyable one too. Dragonflies add a touch of magic into the world, waiting for all of us who take the time to enjoy them. I really appreciate the page of quotes...and the dragonfly postcard. Such a wonderful envelope filled with things to give me joy. Thank you.
Comment: wonderful centos! thanks for coordinating this swap and for sending not one poem, but three!
I am always pleased when I find that I am paired with you in a swap, either sending or receiving.
Comment: Thank you, many times over, for the lovely note you sent me! I'm interested in the graphic novels you've been reading. I hear a lot about them at work because the teens like them so much. I'm glad to have some specific titles you've recommended. Your 'Other Minds" sheet is great, too. THANKS!
Take good care,
Comment: Rebecca, I loved the card with the fairy, and really enjoyed reading your note. I sometimes forget how fortunate we are to have these trails. I am still finding new adventures when I had thought I'd seen them all. Letterboxing has given us a lot of new places that we'd never been. Your place by the lake sounds lovely. I love taking pictures with my digital camera and have gotten some really great sunsets this season from the Irondequoit Bay in Webster. I like your quotes as I collect them also. I didn't know what to do with them at first, then I started cutting and pasting them into my journal. I like Your idea too of the newsletter. You should definitely do at least the seasonal newsletter, maybe even utilizing swapbot somehow. In any event I would love to read it if it continues. Have a great day, Tracy
Comment: Oh, what a beautiful card (I have one of those winter blooming cactus plants and it's flowering at the moment!). It's lovely to learn more about you too! I love "other minds" and I especially like the birdsong quote of Ralph Waldo Emerson. Thank you so much. Sam xoxo
Comment: Hi beckra,
Thank you for the lovely cards you were so thoughtful sending one to David and to Aaron and the stamps are perfect for Steven's collection. All the boys say thank you too. A big heart for you. Cheers Linda
Comment: Thanks for the two postcards, the Arkansas landscape and the bees. Funny you said the bee postcard was for my son because I doubt he'll ever see it. My husband has kidnapped it! He's also an amateur beekeeper.
Comment: What a lovely swap and very thoughtful to read my profile too. Thank you for all the warm wishes and for the card for the girls too. You're so very sweet! THANK YOU BUNCHES OF HUGS
UPDATE Rebecca is a sweet person she replaced one of her cards that got eaten up by the USPS. If I could give her 5 hearts I would. She sent way more than the swap called for and than even replaced one. She's a wonderful person in my books. Thank you so very very very much. This one I'll take with me to the hospital to look and search for fairys!
Comment: You've gone above and beyond again! 2 wonderful, thoughtful, well written letters! I'm so glad we only had one partner but you thought we had two - i enjoyed both cards -or should I say mini-books? - tremendously. I admire your organization and focus as I'm pretty simple - I tend to ignore things that are upsetting or reframe them in a more positive light - but I think your way of dealing with happiness is much more proactive. Thanks for sharing your story and all the happiness quotes. You certainly gave me someting to think about! Thanks for swapping! Starwatcher
Response: Thanks, Starwatcher! It was a pleasure to send my thoughts & accumulated quotations your way!
Comment: Thank you for both your cards! I especially like the thistle one, and that you describe it as "monumental." The image definitely conveys that impression! I hope to host more digital art postcard swaps in the future, and I hope to see you there!
Comment: I absolutely love the Geronimo postcard, yes he's famous in Canada too, we know the story, however I didn't know he did autographs at the 1904 World Fair! I loved his quote too, you rock beckra! :-)
Comment: hey, thanks for the shaky card. i was really into the plays during my high school/college years (SO long ago). it is nice to be reminded of his work- i will be getting my readers out again and re-read some great stuff! thanks so much for your notes. that really makes it nice to receive a postcard! good luck w/ your reading goal!
Comment: for some reason your note about the tree touched my heart. I was reading it walking from my mailbocx to my house and I was looking at all the trees in my yard. They are birch and spruce and very pretty in their spring glory. thanks again. Amy
Comment: I'm so lucky! An art postcard with a lovely quote as well. This was so well written and sweet, thanks from the bottom of my heart. As for the weather here in Sunny Queensland, it's just starting to get cooler. Winter is on the way I think. I love winters here, they are so mild and cool. Cheers Kim
Comment: at first glance I was lost with the picture then i read that it was a beehive? Thats amazing! 8)
Response: Thanks for the rating & the heart! I love taking close-ups because they can be disorienting (or re-orienting?) in a good way: you're not sure what you're looking at, then you find out what it is and--bam--a new perspective!
Comment: The lovely close-up of cemetery statuary was right up my alley! Thank you so much for such a special card, along with the story of the Czech inscription and the great Gibran quote. You did it up right!
Comment: What a great surprise to receive two beautiful cards from you! I absolutely love both! (Though the angel made me feel silly wondering why I haven't done that yet!) The Fairies came on a day I really needed a smile and isn't one I am sharing with Dev! Thanks so much! :D
Comment: CLYDEESMOM 3/20/2008 THANKS FOR THE CUTE POSTCARD. WHAT CAME INTO MY MIND IS "DON'T PUT ALL YOUR EGGS IN ONE BASKET" BUT I LOVE YOUR QUOTE. I KEEP A JOURNAL WITH ALL MY FAVORITE QUOTES AND THIS IS ONE FOR MY BOOK. LOL LORRAINE p.s. i just found the second card at the bottom of my pile of mail. it's a perfect match for the quotation. (both are.)
Comment: Beckra, I love the ATC and would love to have the stamp you made!(lol) Do you carve them into linoleum? I've never tried making my own (except potato carving when I was a girl scout), so I'm curious about your technique. Lovely work.
Response: I'm so glad you liked the stamp! I used to carve into linoleum, but it was tough on my hand. Now I use rubber blocks (either Staedtler or Speedball brand), and it goes much more smoothly. I have really fond memories of doing potato carvings myself when I was young; I keep meaning to try it again as an adult!
Comment: I love that you hand-carved your own stamp! I've wanted to try that but just have not gotten around to it yet. Very cool stamp!
The post card was super cool too.
As for the address...kids are always taking the street sign! I live in a college town (Rowan University) and all the streets in our area are college names so there are ALWAYS some missing. Where in NJ did your hubby grow up?
Well, I guess you would say I liked your swap! Thanks!
Response: Hi, Lauren--Thanks for your kind words! My spouse grew up near Mays Landing, and when we drive from the Philadelphia airport to his parents' house we see signs for Rowan University.... I'll look forward to our swapping paths crossing again!
Comment: Thanks Rebecca - My favorite is the windmill, even tho I'm a nature lover. I love photography with spirals and circles, and I also know of a windmill which is kind of creepy, but very unique, out in the middle of nowhere, here in Colorado....
Comment: I got it! Thank you so much Rebecca! The Polaroids are lovely. It was very nice of you to send two. I especially liked the quote page you enclosed. What a lovely package! Thanks again. &hearts
Comment: Sweetness! I especially enjoyed the mythological puzzle! And the photograph of the bees, lovely and made me yelp when I saw it! (secretly I am scared of the creatures). Thank you for the labels too, they are much appreciated.
Comment: Thank you for the amazing card/note! I'm also curious, where do you get your cards printed? I've been wanting to try with photos of my own.
Response: Thanks for the kind words! I've been using winkflash.com to have my photos printed as postcards, though moo and cafepress can also do it.... I really like being able to share my photos via postcards--if you do give it a try, I think you'll enjoy it, too!
Comment: 2/16/2998 clydeesmom HI AGAIN BECKA, I JUST RECEIVED YOUR "SEND WHAT YOU LOVE" POSTCARD AND I MUST SAY YOU HAD ME BAFFLED WHEN I FIRST LOOKED AT IT. BUT IT MADE A LOT OF SENSE AFTER I READ IT. GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY. THANKS. LOL LORRAINE
Comment: Thank you! What a great picture. It's amazing what you can do with a little digitalizing! If you look at the picture long enough, you can also begin to wonder if it's the roots of the tree or the straight up view from under the tree. Very interesting!
Comment: thanks for the beautiful photo and quote! it was made even more special by your lovely letter and other quotes! i love the sky, so your pic really made my day! especially since i haven't seen any BLUE sky for awhile! :D
Comment: Quits quilts quilts...How do I love thee?...and I love thee, Rebecca, for sending me the old quilt...And hey, you can quilt, just take some basic lessons at a quilt shop in your area...It's not as hard as you think!...Thanks ever so much for meshing two of my favoirtes, history and quilts!...
Comment: The inchies are great and the packaging on them also. Enjoyed the desciptions and I think the whole page will go in my collection. I just may steal your method of sending them.:) You may have started a new thing with the inchie craze.
Comment: A wonderful handmade book with great rainbow mosacics, Thank you for all your work and I love it. I download and print odd poems, add a picture or two and this book is just the right size to glue them into as I use pretty writting paper I have been given to print them onto and they are the same size. I love the postcard as well, there was a great lunar eclipse here the night before last :-)))
Comment: OH MY GOODNESS! I love the photo! I love the birds and the rock and the composition. It is wonderful! That was so sweet of you to pick something from your portfolio just for me from my profile. I would give you 50 hearts if I could!
Comment: thanks so much! i love the binding on the notebook, it's beautiful :) the goreyesque birds were cool as well. very classy notebook! the atc is one of the nicest i have in my small collection, i think i might find make a tiny frame for it and rotate sides every now and then :)
Comment: These were the best cards I've ever gotten! I absolutely love the grillwork shot! I've never seen a headstone for two people before and you're right- they are shaking hands! Odd??
Thanks so much!
Comment: Your ATC is gorgeous!! It reminds me of doodles I do, only you have nicer pens than I do! Also, thanks for including the etymology of the word 'doodle.' Very interesting, and I've been studying linguistics lately, so it was fun to read. Plus, absolutely love the card you sent - Edward Burne-Jones is one of my fave artists! And your ATC matches the card. :)
Comment: Thank you for the beautiful pc. Your garden must be amazing. Everything really sounds yummmy. And btw, my great-grandmother had a grape arbor, with strawberries at the base. She made her own wine and strawberry preserves... Have fun. :)
Comment: Love the ATC's. Is one of a gate? If so I want that gate! It's pretty. Also, I'm not sure if the wallet sized prints are cheaper than a 4x6 but I sometimes open up Photoshop and shrink my pics down to fit 2 on a standard 4x6 print for ATCs.
Comment: Hi Rebecca.
Thanks for the beautiful atc's and "quilt block". Your photos are beautiful and very professional. I love the bee hieroglyph. It was a lovely package and beautifully presented. Thank you so much,
Comment: Hello Rebecca, I want to begin and say thank you for the very nice note and for being excited that we were partners again. That made me feel really good. Thank you for the 4 incredible "Orange Close-Up ATCs" you created for this swap. The photography is great and I was able to recognize most. The beehive one was hard for me. I will proudly add these to my ever-growing ATC collection and they will have a prominent place under "Orange Close-Up ATCs" as well. Thank you for taking time to share your creativity and talent with me. I am sure we will cross paths again. Until we do, Happy Swapping!!
Comment: Hello Rebecca, Thank you for the beautiful cloud paper quilt postcard you created for me. I especially like the use of the silver as part of the quilt and your reference to not being able "to resist adding some silver lining..." What a great connection you made. I will add your postcard to my swap-bot collection, proudly and will display it in my room. I hope we meet again in a future swap(I know we have just recently). Until then--Happy Swapping!!!
Comment: Great package! You went above and beyond as usual and sent for all 5 categories. Wonderful selection of stuff. (I'm thinking about that Ozark chocolate gravy recipe even as I type this :-) I had lived in Florida for a while so I know about the biscuits and gravy - had not heard of this recipe though, so I really appreciate it as I'm a bit of a chocoholic myself! the envelope and postcard wil surely come in handy (I've done the yellow and the blue postcard swaps - maybe green will be after pink postcards?). The black swan will come in hand as well as the quote. Thanks again!
Comment: You get a heart because you sent me 2 cards! I actually think the scenery card would still fit the swap requirements because it was not a photograph (besides, I believe in the IDEA of the swap, not the exact definition. The picture of Mt. Unzen was not a standard "picture" or photo but an artistic interpretation of Mt. Unzen. Besides, I liked the card better! Thanks again for sending them - both!
