I don't know, because to me, the consequences would be the whole point of changing history; yet I could never predict what the consequences would be. But that's not really answering in the spirit of the question, so... I'd change history so that reading was the main form of popular entertainment, because I'd like to see more people reading. But, even if I did that, I couldn't predict what books people would read, and so it goes on...
