Description:

It's been a long time since I last did this but I had a request to run another Monogram swap so... here we go! :)

We will each have three swap partners and this will be international. (Swappers with ratings lower than 4.5 or with blank profiles will be dropped. If you're new, please fill out your profile!)

When you sign up, please leave a comment on this page specifying the letter of your first name (or whatever letter you want to receive).

Once you are given your partners to send to, you will check to see what letter they have requested. If you're not sure, ask (either here or by e-mail).

You will send each partner (at least) one item (worth at least $5) with the initial they have requested. Some ideas:

  • a set of note cards or other stationery with their monogram printed, stamped, embroidered, etc. on it
  • a key chain of the requested letter
  • a coin purse with their monogram on it
  • a (good quality) charm or pendant of the requested letter
  • a journal or small notebook with the monogram
  • a nice (not tiny) rubber stamp of the letter
  • a handkerchief, towel or pillow case with the monogram embroidered on

If you can think of other ideas, please post them! In the last swaps, some of you were very creative! (I got a little book called "The Best Things in Life Begin with A", a post-it pad shaped like the letter A, etc.) :)

A handmade item can be fine (perhaps you can ask your partner first, to see if they would mind), as long as it's really, REALLY NICE and meets the requirements.

Three partners should ensure that everyone gets at least one or two nice items. :)

I'd love either an "L" for me or a "J" for my 7yr old daughter :)

xing5683 01/ 2/2008 #

"M" for both my first name, my fiance's and my soon to be last name.

Handmade of good quality is fine.

dddd89 01/ 2/2008 #

I'd like a D please!!!!!!!!!

Marionsmom 01/ 2/2008 #

Either the letter "B" for myself, or something with the letter "M" for my 3 year old daughter... If you do decide to do something for her that is absolutely wonderful and we would not mind a bit ^_^

paulavelosa 01/ 3/2008 #

for me is "P" and it can be a baby item with a "P" as well...

SetDancer 01/ 4/2008 #

I'd love the letter "K" - great idea Velveteenrabbit!

VelveteenRabbit 01/ 4/2008 #

OOh, goody, people have signed up! :)

Of course, I forgot to say what letter I'd like! :P

I'd be happy with A, J, M or C.

Tanks! :D

dandelion 01/ 5/2008 #

Yeah, I'm so glad you're having another go 'round VelveteenRabbit!!

I'd love the letter 'D' please.

Mags 01/ 6/2008 #

C or G for me! Thanks!

Shash 01/12/2008 #

It's 'S' for me!

jpwillett 01/14/2008 #

I'd love anything with a 'J' or a 'W'

VelveteenRabbit 01/16/2008 #

Hi JP, I see that you're brand new at swap-bot... welcome! I did set a requirement about having a rating of 4.5 or higher but I took a look at your profile and I think I'll give you a chance here. :) Happy swapping, and hopefully you'll get high ratings really soon!

3YorkieMom 01/17/2008 #

D for Darleen. Or rHd for my complete name.

ChicCityGal 01/17/2008 #

Velveteen Rabbit I have no rating and would like to join if possible and if you look at my profile you will see it's probably filled to capacity.

If I am allowed to join I would love anything with a "K"

VelveteenRabbit 01/17/2008 #

Since you asked so nicely, ChicCityGal, let's give it a go! :)

And, yup, that's a pretty thorough profile! I was going to comment that you don't mention anything about the crafts you enjoy but then I remembered swap-bot isn't only for crafters (though many of us seem to be)! :D

ChicCityGal 01/17/2008 #

Thanks Velveteen for the speedy reply!

I am not a crafter I wish I was! I do so enjoy looking at the different things people do. I guess I should pick up a book or something. Lord knows I need a hobby.

moonbrooke 01/20/2008 #

Letter S for me.

I am also a newbie, but I'm looking forward to this!

debbi 01/20/2008 #

Thanks for running this swap again! #2 was the first swap I ever did, so I have to come back for this one! Glad I saw it before it closed.

I would like either an "S" or a "K"!

chieffa 01/21/2008 #

Letter C please

bluehairedmary 01/22/2008 #

I'm the letter "M" please! Thanks! But if you want to make something for the baby with an "I" that would be cute!

dddd89 01/22/2008 #

When are we gonna get our swap partners?!?! I'm so excited!!!!!!!!!

chieffa 01/22/2008 #

C for me, or P for a baby boy

VelveteenRabbit 01/22/2008 #

Sorry... the link wasn't up for me last night and I was just able to get here now. :) Gimme a minute and we'll be good to go! :D

VelveteenRabbit 02/ 1/2008 #

If anyone has suggestions of good places to find monogram stuff, please mention them here! Although this swap was my idea, I always struggle to find nice items, at least locally. I found a couple of little items on Etsy and I can make things, but I'd love to hear about where you're buying things! :)

moonbrooke 02/ 4/2008 #

I have also had a hard time finding things, but I don't have any real good suggestions...

I have spent much more time on this swap than I originally expected.

dddd89 02/10/2008 #

Kohl's jewelry department always has monogram stuff, Target's stationary aisle has monogram stationary. It's a matter of finding the exact initial because they don't always have every letter!

VelveteenRabbit 02/12/2008 #

I ended up ordering a couple of things from Etsy (I hope they arrive my the mailing deadline or I will be a very very bad hostess!!!) I know people like this swap but I don't think I will host it again! :) I have been far too busy to go out shopping these past few weeks and there's only so much you can find on-line (shipping costs are often prohibitive, even if the item is not expensive).

Anyway, I appreciate everyone's participation and hope we all had fun! :)

VelveteenRabbit 02/12/2008 #

Oh yay! My stuff arrived today so I'll be able to ship on time. :D

dandelion 02/15/2008 #

I was able to get one of my packages in the mail today but will need a little extra time for the other two. They should go in the mail on Tuesday, since Monday is a holiday with no mail service. I've messaged my partners.
