Squares are to be 6'x6' (6 inchx6inch)

any colour, any style

Though you may ask your partner if they are looking for a particular colour of square.

i plan on trying to host one of these every month :D so feel free to keep an eye out for them

note: i am just calling it granny squares as i know of no other name to call them, samplers? call it what you want :D

another note: please remember that there are those out there who like myself do not have a wide variety of colours to choose from to knit, we will try to get the colours to what you are requesting in the comments, but please remember, yarn does cost money, and not everyone has the money to buy new colours on a whim. thanks for reading this little note at the bottom.

btw yes I am a newbie but you will get my squares, I don't want to be flaked on nor will I flake. My word is all you have but my word is good. :]

EddyG 12/21/2011 #

ooh another one chantal? Count me in dear

jenthehoover 12/27/2011 #

would really LOVE all shades of teal :)

tigermousecat 12/31/2011 #

Quick question....how many squares do we send out to partner? Thank you.

EddyG 01/ 1/2012 #

hey tigermousecat - you get 2 partners and send one square each to each of them. I don't mind what colour or patterns I get as long as the yarn is acrylic - so I can wash it and either a grade 3 or 4 yarn (sport, DK, worsted) this is just so it will all go together.
No arans or chunkys please

This is my first swap! I am an avid crocheter and knitter and love the color red!

thunnina81 01/ 2/2012 #

i love cotton yellow/orange

ChantalB 01/ 4/2012 #

i would just like to mention as i see alot of people requesting colours

i myself in the oct-apr season am extremely limited in cash, so i use the yarn i currently have when knitting my squares, if you get me as a partner, i will try to knit your square in the colour you want, but until i get money it might have to be in one of the colours i currently have in stock.

another note: i am experimenting with alot of new stitches and most of them are 'lacey' in stature, which means when you get it it might look smaller than the 6" x 6" that is required, but it does stretch, and is meant to be stretched to get the proper look to it.

so please bear in mind these facts.

thanks everyone for joining in on my swaps, it has been a blast for me

I am like ChantelB and will try to do the color you want but may have to make do with what I have. It will be acrylic and washable.

I'm going to look for the next one! I just got a really cool knitting loom that I want to practice on before I sign up for something like this!

Is it possible to make a group for these swaps? Then we'd know when you have a new one and don't miss it....

crosss1angel 01/ 6/2012 #

I love to crochet...I will take anything that anyone sends me...I am making a blanket that I am calling "Everything but the kitchen sink". I can't wait to see my squares!

CoffeePotPeople 01/ 7/2012 #

I love the idea of a group! I love color. All of it. I do love a black edge to make those colors pop, but I can always add that when joining the squares...

So, color me easy, lol!

ChantalB 01/ 7/2012 #

i will go make a group up :D

bugsmama 01/ 9/2012 #

Thanks!! I sent a request and I'm going to practice with my loom and see what i can whip up! if I can successfully make a couple I'll probably join this swap :) if not, I'll get on the next swap

ladeebug 01/ 9/2012 #

I was in a swap like this on another site, we made larger squares 9x9 I think they were, then one of the ladies agreed to put them together into a throw for a homeless shelter. This might be a good idea for another swap. meanwhile count me in on this one too.

ccirwin1971 01/ 9/2012 #

Would love to join but with International shipping so costly - could you do one just for the US?

cwing 01/ 9/2012 #

Hi everyone, I am also a newbie, (two swaps under my belt). I love to knit and crochet. Most any acrylic will be great, even if it is a white or off white. I would prefer not a bulky or aran, but if that is all you have, then don't go buy anything, use it. It will be fun to incorporate it into the whole. If you really want to get a color I would most heartily want, it would be browns, blues, reds, tans... but I will embrace it all of the colorsssssssssssssssssss!!

Color, you choose, love all colors including the shaded. If possible, acrylic or cotton, nothing bulky. I do make these for the homeless, so if you have them darker colors don't show the stains and dirt.

flowerchild 01/12/2012 #

acrylic and washable for me too. but please no eyelash or really chunky yarn. multi colored, monochromatic, or even a solid color will work!

ica1986 01/14/2012 #

I want to join It should be fun if i could do a square in blue and yellow.. it is like swedish flag :) can i do it in these colour i want to know before i join

rattissia 01/14/2012 #

Ica it's senders choice so as long as it's the size specified its upto you how you do the square :)

heritagedecouleurs 01/15/2012 #

terilowe60 01/20/2012 #

If i am not too late for my partner.....crocheted in either primary colors or pastels...I use them to make blankets (binkies) for ill and abused children. Thanks:0) Teri
