Description:

I don't know many people who don't love vintage t-shirts. I also don't know many people who don't have a TON of them. So, let's swap!

Terms of this swap:

  1. Vintage means 1980 or older. DO NOT send a new shirt!
  2. T-shirt means COTTON; nothing besides cotton.
  3. T-shirt MUST have something on it. Can be a band shirt, vacation shirt, word shirt, scenic shirt, etc. It CANNOT, however, be a blank/ plain shirt. SEND SOMETHING YOU WOULD NOT MIND GETTING!
  4. Be courteous. By nature, vintage means soft, thin, faded, etc. However, DO NOT send a shirt with rips or holes in it or nasty stains. Again, SEND SOMETHING YOU WOULD NOT MIND GETTING!
  5. You will send to TWO people. If you do not have TWO vintage t-shirts that you are willing to part with, DO NOT sign up for this swap.
  6. This is an International swap. If you are NOT willing to ship Internationally, DO NOT sign up for this swap.
  7. You are free to ask your swap partner what size they prefer. However, you are not obligated to send this size. There are tons of things to be done with vintage t-shirts. Get creative if you don't get a wearable size!
  8. That being said, ADULT SIZES ONLY! No kids or baby sizes!

I will do the best I can as moderator of this swap. However, if you happen to get a deadbeat swapper and end up without a shirt or with an undesirable shirt, I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IN ANY WAY FOR THAT!

If you DO get a shirt that goes in any way against the guidelines here, please email me and I will ban that person from being part of any swaps I have in future.

Feel free to ask any questions you have about this swap.

Thanks and HAPPY SWAPPING!

I will accept 1988 or older, I love 1980's stuff

user2493 11/ 4/2006 #

Has anyone besides me actually sent anyone anything?

user3693 11/ 4/2006 #

I sent my items last week - approx 10/31. They went to petiscos and germanfrancie.

user2493 11/ 4/2006 #

Would you want to trade items with someone who treated you this way? "Look, I'm sending your shirt back to you, which I really didn't have to agree to do. You DO NOT have to be a witch about this. Why couldn't you just agree to disagree about this and let it be done? You are getting the shirt back. Don't write me again. Also, you can REST ASSURED that I would NEVER bid on ANYTHING that you were selling. Grow up."

user3693 11/ 4/2006 #

Which was in response to:

"Just so you know, I didn't receive any shirts though I sent 2, and I don't expect to receive any. You have some no-send people signed up for the swap. I didn't care because I thought I was doing a good deed. Silly me. My ebay user ID is *****, I'm just letting you know so you can refrain from bidding on my auctions in the future. I would appreciate it. Rebecca"

I stand by it, Rebecca. GROW UP!

And learn what VINTAGE truly is.

user2493 11/ 4/2006 #

I stand by it, too. You have no manners, I know what vintage is. Who died and made you vintage expert?

user2493 11/ 4/2006 #

By the way, you yourself admitted the decal on my shirt was vintage (and in good shape I might add). You were upset because it was ironed onto a shirt that may have been slightly more modern. My boyfriend is sitting here saying "change it to may have been slightly more modern" because he doesn't believe it was newer. I did some research and found out T-shirts with messages on them weren't even manufactured until the 1970's. So the oldest you could find are 1970's. I sent you a shirt that was no less than 12 years old that I had paid over $20 for at Ragstock, a prominent thrift and vintage shop. I'm sorry you threw a fit over something so minor.

user3693 11/ 4/2006 #

Apparently, you have a pesky habit of sending things and then asking for them to be sent back (see feedback she has left on another swap). I'm sending your beloved NON-vintage shirt back to you. That should be the end of story.

And, just so you know, ANYONE can claim most ANYTHING to be vintage, mark it way up and get SOMEONE to buy it.

But, that is enough of this. Replying to you isn't worth the effort or space here. I won't reply to you again and I WILL delete any more retorts you have. This isn't the place for impertinence such as yours.

To the Vintage Tee swap participants:

This swap was a bust. I will admit it and I'm sure the THREE others of you who signed up will admit it too. There were very few of us and, of those, one had a HORRIBLE rating that I did not notice before the swap actually began. For that oversight, I am sorry. However, this was the first swap that I was the organizer of and I wasn't overly familiar with the intracacies of moderation here. Even so, as the moderator, you all have my apologies. To those of you who didn't get shirts, apologies for that too. Those of us who DID get shirts, didn't get the right kind of shirt (aka: VINTAGE) so maybe that will make you feel some better. As I said, this swap was a BUST (and I fully expect certain ones of you to chime in and agree whole-heartedly and be as catty as you can be about it... that is fine and, from you, what I expect.) So, that is all. Just wanted to post quickly and say... better luck in other swaps that hopefully have more active participants and more seasoned moderators.

KB

P.S. In the somewhat unlikely event that I organize a swap in future, the participant here with such a low rating will be banned from it, as will another participant on this swap who caused more trouble than anything this frivilous should entail. It is, after all, JUST A SWAP!

About GERMANFRANCIE... This girl has been harrassing me for an issue that I asked her to agree to disagree with me over. Not only has she posted things about me here, she has sabatoged my MySpace account, getting her friends to send me nasty, hateful messages. This is the blog she posted to her friends, complete with a LINK to my MySpace account:

"Hey! I'm signed up for a group called swap-bot. The purpose of this group is to exchange things with strangers, ostensibly in a 'friendly' way. Unfortunately, I am learning that is no longer possible in today's world. I just had to pay this person $3 to get my own T-shirt back after she complained about it.

Picky Picky Picky

She's upset because it was supposed to be pre-1980, and the shirt I sent was 1980's. She was my partner and hasn't sent me anything. This is the second time this month someone who didn't send me anything acted in very poor taste.

Don't you feel bad for this girl? I think she was mad because my vintage T-shirt said "I'm spoiled" on it with cute vintage graphics. Sometimes messages hit too close to home. Looks like from her page she's a doll collector. I feel sorry for her. I happen to be a great cheap source for most of the dolls she collects. Some people just like to burn bridges before they build them, I guess..."

GERMANFRANCIE has no clue about the world, life, dealing with other (sane) people and she certainly doesn't know anything about Vintage. I am sending her shirt back to her because she asked that I did. She paid me for the return shipping but, even so, I DID NOT have to agree to send it back at all. She CANNOT LET IT GO. She is flaming me all over the Internet and, if you will see from her other feedback, she has done this before.

I did send her something but now, I wish I hadn't. I'm sure that when she does get it, she will have some sort of problem with it no matter what. This girl is NOT worth the trouble and needs to GET OVER IT! I have already put this issue out of my mind but she won't let it go... she keeps harrassing me and being immature and silly over something that is moot. She is getting the shirt back, I told her I didn't want anything else sent in return and that is that. Why can't she just MOVE ON!??

user3693 11/ 5/2006 #

One more thing... You can see that Germanfrancie has done this same thing before... http://www.swap-bot.com/swap/show/1035
