Moose wood block painted by my daughter and bobble head was a gift from husband. They reside by my computer monitor and keep me inspired

Do you have an animal totem or familiar you work with? Or do you just have an affinity for a particular animal, for whatever reason?

This swap is to give one partner two special items honoring their chosen animal.

When you join, please give at least two animal choices in the comments section. When partners are assigned, please look at your partner's choices, pick one, and:

  • Create a card-an ATC, skinny, notecard, inchie/twinchie,postcard, whatever you choose. This can be a painting, sketch, collage, whatever medium is your favorite. This should feature your partner's totem animal. This is to be made by you, not purchased. Make something you are proud of!

If you happen to have a commercial card that features the totem animal you are sending and you know your partner will love it, feel free to add as an extra, but the swap itself is for something you created.

  • Create or purchase a charm or trinket relating to your partner's totem animal.

Some ideas for crafting:
amigurumi
embroidered item
art doll
plushie
dotee
clay amulet
altoid shrine
decorated boxes
felt ornament
leatherwork
... whatever you enjoy working with and feel inspired by.

It is perfectly fine to purchase the gift item if you don't feel that you can craft it.

Make this something nice and thoughtful that your partner will enjoy seeing everyday. I am leaving the interpretation of the item up to you, as long as it honors your partner's chosen totem animal!

EDIT for clarification. Received a message and wanted to clarify here.... This is open to YOUR interpretation. You can be literal: the totem animal you are sending is cat and you make an art doll or plushie of an cat or embroider a lovely Bast and frame it. Or, you can interpret into a useful object: If you see on your partner's profile that they love tea, create a tea wallet with cat fabric or decorate a tin or box to store tea, or silk screen a cat onto tote bag. I hope this helps!

This has a short sign up date, but am giving a 5 week turnaround to give you time to craft or find just the perfect items.

Recap: ONE partner, TWO items (a paper craft and a dimensional gift)

If you have not commented with your animals by the time to assign partners, I will sadly ban you.

My totem animals are turtles and cats and bears. In Native American astrology my totem animal is an owl.

Octopus & Luna Moth are two animals that have been repetitive in my life and seem important right now.

I love the variety of totems we are seeing here. Awesome.

I walked into a coffee/chess house and a very interesting shaman called me over. He said he saw my totem and had never had one come to him so fast. He put a few things down on paper before he called me over and had me talk about myself. He had written all of the things I had said down before I had said them. He said I had hunted animals as a child for food and I had taken care of sick family members when no others could stand to be around them because of their illness. True. I protected all around me as a young women .. TRUE. I was the shoulder for all to come and spill their souls upon, as I would never tell them what to do or tell their tell to anyone else. My totem is the mother bear with a wolf walking in it shadow, an Owl, and a Turtle as I take life in the slow lane. There is no since in speed as we get to the end fast enough.

Wow, that is awesome @ cracker. The turtle has been with me through out my life and always around in time of trouble but a very good Indian friend who is one of the shaman for thier family tribe said a bear is very important in my life. I see bears in my dreams often when they are troubled.

My "crows" seem to be Ravens - well both are black ???? Maggie

I have been so inspired by this swap (and my partners in both swaps I am hosting) that I have worked almost nonstop for two days on these. I hope everyone else is enjoying the process also.

I have liked the challenge. I tried many, many ideas until one night I knew exactly what to do. I think it came out great and hope my partner does too.
