art journal pages

Not all of us have the time to create full art journals to swap. Then there is a chance your art journal will never be returned .... A lot happens in life ... that's why I can't join a swap which takes a lot of pages to create or takes a lot of time to create.

Do you have the same experience? Join us in this swap and let's have fun!

Prompt 1: If you only had one more day to live, what would you do?

Prompt 2: If you could tell your younger self one thing, what would it be?

Quantity: create TWO art journal pages and receive two back. 2 for 2.

Size of the pages: 5"x7"

Margin: leave a 1" margin on the left of the page free from embellishment. This margin is meant for binding.

Orientation: Horizontal Only!

Finish the back of each page you create, with your art or with patterned paper. State your swap-bot name, real name, the themes of the pages and the name of the swap on the back of each page. Nice is if you sum up the mediums/technique you used.

Art journal pages is a way to express yourself. But leaving pages white/gray of just slapping some paint on a page is too easy. So get it and be very, very, very creative. Keep the quality high!!

Any kind of cardstock can be used (please recycle; time is financially tough, so buying is not necessary!!), but of course it is sender's choice. On art journal pages water is a normal addition to mediums, so use scrap cardstock which is sturdy enough to carry the water layers on it. Please be sure that the cardstock is of substantial weight, because these pages may eventually be bound into a journal.

P.s: any ideas for prompts are welcome; just send me a message. I am willing to host.

Ok, I'm a dork...are we doing one page for each prompt? Or...are we making one page from either of the prompts? Thanks

Lucine 02/23/2012 #

We will be making two pages for the partner; so we receive two pages back. Each page a prompt. I'll add this info to the text. No, you're not a dork! It's a good question, because this info wasn't there☺ Thank you!

question - the orientation says "horizontal only" so the page is oriented lengthwise rather than tall like in a book - right? Basically - is it Landscape or Portrait that we're supposed to be doing? I'm confused by "horizontal"...sorry. :-s

Lucine 02/27/2012 #

Aha, the position of the page will be landscape. The position of the page is just for us to have the pages oriented the same for binding. It's okay if you're confused; you had it right! Your art may be landscape or portrait. Hope this info helps. You're welcome☺

Now I'm confused. The book will be bound landscape, but the art can be either?

Lucine 02/29/2012 #

Yes.

Ok, I'm gonn give this a try, but if I screw it up, please don't get angry with me...I'm still learning all the ropes. I'm pretty sure I got it now...so...here goes nuthin'!!

Lucine 03/12/2012 #

In fact, you can't screw it up, whytewillow. There are millions of possiblilies to create your page. Use different colors of paint, good cardstock or watercolor cardstock, draw and your imagination:-3

Follow the description. You can google and find lots, lots of information about art journaling. It definitely is not meant to slap stickers on your page and send that to your partner. I added two links in the description here above; just click and take a look☺
