Description:

Do you love the idea of creating and sharing a beautiful art journal, but are afraid to work for months on end only to receive nothing in return? Would you like collaborative journals, but don’t want to spend bucket loads shipping a massive journal which may be lost in the end anyway? The idea of page by page art journals seems to be gaining ground, and it makes perfect sense. Join as many or a few themes as you like. Participate when it is best for you and start assembling your one of a kind masterpiece!! This journal will be for size 4 x 6 pages, the size of a standard postcard. The small size means a lot more effort can be put into maximizing the space available and pages can easily be stored in a photo album, bound into a small book, or pasted into a larger journal!

Paint/Collage/Draw artwork. No stickers and if you use a computer print out, it must be part of a larger collage and be of such high quality printing that I can’t tell it isn’t a store bought piece of ephemera. Remember this is an art journal. Decorate the front only.

Every few weeks I will pick a new nature theme. You may suggest themes for future swaps in the comments section if you like.

This months theme: Red-Winged Blackbird

The following description is from The Cornell Lab or Ornithology: One of the most abundant birds across North America, and one of the most boldly colored, the Red-winged Blackbird is a familiar sight atop cattails, along soggy roadsides, and on telephone wires. Glossy-black males have scarlet-and-yellow shoulder patches they can puff up or hide depending on how confident they feel. Females are a subdued, streaky brown, almost like a large, dark sparrow. In the North, their early arrival and tumbling song are happy indications of the return of spring.

Your journal page must feature the red-winged black bird (Agelaius phoeniceus)

Who may join:

I’m going to be strict on this, although the art page is only slightly larger than an ATC, I want everyone to receive beautiful art. Therefore:

No 1’s ever

No more than three 3’s due to late swaps

If you have received a 3 due to not fulfilling the requirements of a swap, you cannot join this one

No late swaps on your dashboard after the last day of sign-up

No newbies, you must have completed 10 type 3 swaps

You must have signed into swap-bot at least two days before the sign-up deadline

I will check profiles and ban as necessary. Newbies may come back and play as soon as they have enough rating.
