Description:

I recently finished my first hexagon quilt and am in love! The pieces are a little more time intensive to put together but create such beautiful quilts.

You will have 4 partners that you will send 3 hexagon blocks to. That means you make a total of 12 blocks. Hexagon "blocks" are 7 hexagons sewn together to look like a 6 petal flower.

We will be making hexagons that when finished each side of each individual hexagon is 4 inches high. These pieces are big enough that they are easy to sew together

This: http://tallgrassprairiestudio.blogspot.com/2012/02/sewing-hexagons-by-machine-without.html is a good tutorial on how to easily make hexagons.

The best tool to use to make accurate hexagons is this: http://www.createforless.com/EZ+Acrylic+Template+Easy+Hexagon/pid206322.aspx I bought mine at a local chain fabric store. You cut strips of fabric and then cut the ends to make 6 sides.

Or You can print out a hexagon so that the hexagons are 4 inches high when finished (This measurement is taken from one side to the side opposite it)

Fabrics should be clean, preferably new (if your partner wants vintage fabric that is ok) and 100% cotton. Make sure fabric is of good quality, If you can see thru it it's probably not a good idea to use it.

Fabrics used are sender's choice but try to take your partners tastes into account.

No newbies. Must have completed at least 5 type 3 swaps and have a rating of 4.8 or better. No 1's or 3's in the last 6 months.I will check. I may make exceptions for newbies who haven't been rated yet. Message me if you've done swaps but just haven't been rated. If you don't get anything from your partner let me know.

Also.... I couldn't find a good print out template. If someone finds one please let me know!

hi, I couldn't get the first link to work, but on the site found this address for the page (I think the only difference is the '.co.uk' instead of the '.com')

Yep! that's it! Make sure to make your blocks 4" high (length from one side to side opposite it). I highly recommend getting the hexagon ruler i linked to
