Description:

For this swap you will be sending your partners a postcard with your favorite quote written on it! You will have 2 partners to send a postcard to. The quote can be about any subject. It can be from a book, a television show, a movie, a famous person, etc. Please write the source you get the quote from (it could be anonymous). If you like you can explain why it's your favorite quote, but this is not necessary.

The postcard can be store bought OR handmade. If you decide to make a handmade postcard please make sure it is nicely decorated, shows effort was put in to making it, and it is postcard sized.

Summary: ONE postcard to each TWO partners with your favorite quote written on it. Two postcards total.

If this goes well, I will continue to do more of these quote swaps! I will be manually banning anyone who looks like they will flake. I will give those who are unrated a chance (you have to start somewhere!) and I am willing to send a postcard to anyone who receives nothing. Happy swapping!

Hi, since it's just a quote on a postcard, must the postcards be store bought?

Good question! I will clear this up in the swap description. You may make your own postcard if you like, as long as it's nicely decorated and shows effort was put in to making it.

I prefer that my card is sent unwritten and in an envelope please. Because written and stamped cards arrive here mostly dirty, damaged or bent. Thanks.

@HesapliParlakBulasik You ask this in ever postcard swap I have seen lately -but the swap clearly states - write a quote on the card. I would be in violation of my swap duties if i did this.

sammalmquist 11/13/2012 #

Littletiscrafty - You are absolutely right. For this particular swap, it is required to write the quote on the postcard, that's the whole point of the swap! If you like unwritten postcards I'm sure there are swaps that will fit that need. :)

Being it is international, the cost would be the same for me if I sent it in an envelope to her, would that be Ok, if I wrote the quote on the card and put the card in an envelope if she is my partner?

I do understand damaged postcards, I get about three a week on a busy week and this is the USPS, doing the damage, so I can understand worst postal systems not caring.

However, if the host says no to the envelope then @HesapiliParlakBulasik you know we have no choice. And that would go for all the swaps you are in, that the host makes the final say so.

@fawnscrafts as long as @HesapiliParlakBulasik sends her partners the required postcards (like the description entails) I would have no issue with her partners that are sending a postcard to her putting it in an envelope. But that is the choice of her partners. If they would rather abide by the swap description and send the postcard naked, then they are not doing anything wrong. I think that is the most fair way to do it!
