Old calendars pictures make great envies!

Paige1900 11/26/2012 #

Yep!!! I love hand folded envies...I have a huge problem with using them though...I just want to keep them all to myself. :(

djcamp04 11/27/2012 #

Paige, are the ones I sent you in your stocking considered "mini's"?

TerryF 11/27/2012 #

Paige: Would it be safe to say that any size approved for mailing by your local Post office would be acceptable?

Paige1900 11/29/2012 #

YES! That would be very safe to say. : )

djcamp04 12/ 1/2012 #

Moving to my watchlist for now.

Paige1900 12/ 4/2012 #

Trust me I understand...I wish I could move some of these to my watch list (so my dash wouldn't seem so cluttered, but uhm all my swaps I am in, I am hosting. O_o

Woohoo, finally found a use for my 2012 Tokidoki calender come January!

What is the minimum size for an envie in the US?

Paige1900 01/23/2013 #

Around 3.5 x 6 is about the size of a standard US letter envelope.

tiggerkitn25 01/23/2013 #

3.5 inches by 5 inches is the smallest acceptable envie according to the US post office site.

Giddyanni 01/24/2013 #

Thank you, @paige1900 and @tiggerkitn25 :o)

Do the envies have to have double-sided tape affixed to the flap or can they be left plain?

vronica 01/27/2013 #

Where does the return address come? I usually put a label on the backflap of the envie,(so I actually don't need any specific spot on the envie) but I think in USA it's common to have the return address in the upper left corner in front of the envie

Paige1900 01/27/2013 #

@couchart - a means to adhere the envelope is NOT required (however; I do add it LOL)

@vronica - normally the return address is in the left upper corner...however it is not required for it to be there and the back flap is fine. In fact some of the ones I have made have the return address on the back flap.

couchart 01/27/2013 #

If the paper has a cool image element happening in the upper left corner, then I put the return address on the back flap so I don't have to cover it up.

And thanks Paige, I have some of that double sided tape that has a peel off cover, but I am running low. I have ordered some more though, so as long as it arrives when expected, I should be good to go.

gillman 01/27/2013 #

Do we decorate them or leave them unembellished for mailing?

17Papergoddess 01/28/2013 #

nice to hear others do the same by putting label on back flap so as not to interfere with the 'framed' art on the envie ;-)

TerryF 01/29/2013 #

I am thinking that embellishments are not required for this swap because of Paige's wording, but have asked her to come and confirm.

Paige1900 01/29/2013 #

Embellishments are not required, (but welcomed if you so choose). With postage being as it is, the less embellishments the cheaper. : )
