Description:

This is a pretty simple swap. All you need to do is find a nice fold and send envelope, write a letter to your partner on it, and obviously fold it and send it!

A fold and send envelope is a piece of paper which you write directly onto, which you then fold into an envelope. This means you don't put the letter in an envelope and send it, but the letter becomes the envelope.

The only criterion are that you must have a fold and send envelope, which are easy to buy and easier to print out yourself; you must at least write a letter the size of your envelope - but ideally you'll add an extra page into the envelope itself; you must remember to put the swap details somewhere on the envelope; and you must be sure that this is something you'd like to receive. Wouldn't it also be nice to have a Christmas or New Years themed envelope?

The rating minimum is only 4 for this swap, and newbies are allowed, but please don't let this put you off the swap as I will angel (although I like to think we're all reliable here)

Why such a low rating? You are just asking for loads of flakers. Your swap - but I wouldn't want to be angeling oodles either. Food for thought.

what is a fold?

PukeFacedFreak 12/ 7/2012 #

@FunkyZ the swap description explains. Check the second paragraph.

@Snuggles555 I like to have a bit of faith in people, but like I said, if anyone flakes I'm willing to angel. I personally know what it's like when someone flakes, but I also know what it's like to be burdened with a low rating for a reason you couldn't control, so I've decided to make this swap open to people with a low rating because sometimes it's just not their fault. I totally understand people not wanting to join because of fear of flakers, but I like to think that most people on swap-bot are reliable. Christmas faith!

To make your own fold letter with any 8 1/2" X 11" size paper, just google Mennonite Fold Note for the instructions. You can write on one side, fold it into an envie, address & stamp it on the last little fold then mail it - no glue or tape is needed.

I am really busy right now, but would love to do this in the new year

Back in the day, (1970s - 80s) when the only way to communicate was phone and letter these used to be called Send a Note cards. They could be a little smaller than the 81/2 X 11 They always had a sticker with them to seal the note when you folded it over.

@DonnaLeeDesigns I'd quite happily make one for after New Year, if you'd like to do one then?

@vick302000 Most people still call them Send a Note cards/ letters here in England :D
