Knit or crochet or quilt TWO potholders (square, round, a mitt, etc) and send them along with one of your favorite recipes (appetizer, main dish, veggie, sweets, etc) to one partner.

NOTE CHANGE IN QUANTITY:

Knit, crochet or quilt TWO potholders (square, round, a mitt, etc) and send them along with TWO of your favorite recipes (appetizer, main dish, veggie, sweets, etc - you choose!) to one partner.

NEW RULE FOR THIS SWAP:

Due to so many people abusing swap-bot for their own personal gain and not fulfilling their end of the swap, you must have a minimum rating of 4.5 to participate. Contact me if you are in process of getting your rating changed and explain the situation.

However, if you're new to swap-bot you won't have a rating. To participate, you must have a valid email (I will be checking) and your profile must be filled out when you sign up. If I am unable to contact you prior to the end of sign up, you will not be allowed to participate. We really need to be sure that everyone plays fair, right?

If you have any questions, contact me via my profile or contact me via my blog (the link is under my contact information).

Have fun!

I crochet pot holders and collect recipes. would like to trade with a swap friend.

user4810 11/ 6/2006 #

I would like to see what kinds of potholders other ppl make. Also I have many good recipes to share

1CrazyQuilter 11/17/2006 #

Does it need to be crocheted or knitted i am a quilter and could make a quilted potholder?

Cakers 11/26/2006 #

Note the change in the swap - we will now allow quilted potholders as well as knitted or crocheted. :-)

Crinolinelady 11/29/2006 #

sadly I fail to see why us International ladies cannot get onto this one a pot holder and a recipe sounds simple enough to post and do........O! well I guess I'll just watch for international one. :o)

user5150 11/30/2006 #

This should be fun I have been making potholders and I do collect them also and recipes I have plenty to share . cannot wait to get started . Love Lucky lady

user5147 11/30/2006 #

user5150 11/30/2006 #

When are you drawing names? and How do I get partner for the swap? new at this .Loveluckylady

alwaysjoy 11/30/2006 #

Hi, I would love to do this swap... Can I send to someone and have them send to my mom? I just think she would love to get a surprise in the mail... Is that Acceptable? If it is whoever gets me can email me and I will send them her address.

user4802 11/30/2006 #

I have been collecting family recipes for a family cookbook and my friends at work have gotten so excited about giving me recipes that I have become a recipe junkie. Bonus! I need potholders desperately. Looking forward to sharing.

Hi everyone, here are some answers to your questions and comments.

To Country Christmas: As for this being only US for now I did that because I honestly thought this wouldn't get a whole lot of attention. Seriously. I figured it would be just my US knitting pals that I've met through swaps and secret pals. Silly me! What's the phrase? Never ASSume or you make an ASS out of you and me? Mostly me, of course. :-)

But I'm going out right now to set up an International and US swap for February. Just think, we can go with a Valentine's Day theme for the recipe and the potholder. Yeehaw!

To: Love Lucky Lady: As for how do you get your person's name you will send to, the system will generate that automatically and you'll get an email when the swap sign up is over.

To AlwaysJoy: And for wondering if you can have the person who is sending to you send to your mother instead, we can arrange that. You can and I and the person you'd be receiving from will talk about that once sign up has ended.

I thnk that's about it for now. Have fun everyone!

user5150 12/ 2/2006 #

Thankyou Knitgirl for repling I 'm getting excited . looking forward to my e-mail to come . Lovelucky lady

user4802 12/ 2/2006 #

I was viewing your new international swap and I like the idea of sending two potholders. I guess they do sort of come in pairs. Is it ok if I send two to whom ever I recieve?

Cakers 12/ 2/2006 #

Jendle - absolutely! It's never a problem if you want to send MORE! :-)

user4802 12/10/2006 #

I love the patterns you gave the links to in your email... Gave me lots of ideas. Thankyou.

user5270 12/13/2006 #

Since the quantity is now 2 potholders, should they be a matched set, two different designs, or sender's choice of either?

Thinking about what recipes to send keeps making me hungry...lol.

Cakers 12/25/2006 #

This is a message to the group and I'll email this later this week as well.

If you are unable to participate in this swap afterall, please remove yourself from the swap no later than 12/31/2006.

Thanks so much!!

Cakers 12/25/2006 #

Hi terrymcclary - I'd say senders choice. I don't mind having different colors or patterns in my kitchen. But you could always ask your pal once you know who it is if you'd like. Or just surprise them!

alwaysjoy 12/29/2006 #

I just finished my potholders and typing out the recipes! Hope you enjoy them all as much as I did making them!

KarlaKC 12/30/2006 #

Oops, I was looking over my swaps I'd signed up for and noticed this one has changed since I initially signed up. Instead of US only, it's now International, and instead of 1, it's now 2 potholders. There's nothing wrong with those changes per se, but not what I signed up for. I liked the idea of starting another swap to include International, but this one changed, too, instead of remaining US only, and the amount of items we're swapping changed, too. Again, no problems in themselves, but this is not the swap I signed up for, so I will bow out. Have fun everyone! I hope to come and play in a future Potholder/Recipe exchange! :) Thank you, Patty, for hosting this one.

1CrazyQuilter 01/ 2/2007 #

I just put potholders in their envelope and they are ready to be put in the mail tomorrow. I posted a picture and would love it if everyone posted a picture too. Most of the swaps that I have joined do not post any pictures and would love to see what everyone is sending out or getting. Thanks Pam

user1938 01/ 2/2007 #

Working on mine this week. Excited to send them. Can't wait to receive!

Cakers 01/ 2/2007 #

Very nice potholders, Pam. I wish I had the patience for quilting but I don't. :-)

harleychick27 01/ 5/2007 #

Just received an email from my partner, Elizabeth, that she's dropping from the swap since her email would be 'shared globally' with everyone on swap-bot and she doesn't want any more SPAM. What??? The time to drop from the swap is BEFORE you are assigned a partner! Patty sent several reminders to drop if you couldn't fulfill your obligation before the swap closed! You said you've already finished the pot holders, sent me an email (which provided me with your email address) so I think you should send them and THEN remove yourself from swap-bot. I have been working on mine for my partner and it is TOTALLY unfair if I don't recieve anything from you.

Thank you for understanding, Kathleen aka Kiki

Cakers 01/ 6/2007 #

Hi Kiki, I just heard from Elizabeth who said she had deleted her profile and I think she thought that would drop her out. But she also said she's sending you the potholders she had ready to go and some recipes. Let me know when you get them, okay? Hope you had a great Christmas and New Year's!!

harleychick27 01/ 6/2007 #

Hi! Guess what? Pot holders arrived today! Thank you, Elizabeth, they are very nice! Looking forward to trying the recipes, too! Thanks so much for the follow-up, Patty!

Neenbug 01/11/2007 #

Knitgirl63, I am ready to send my potholders but in looking back on the post on 12/30, the person I am to send to dropped out! Please let me know if I send to her or if I need to send to someone else. I do not want an active participant not receive anything. I have tried to email you but no response. I will wait another day then I will go ahead and mail to KarlaKC.

alwaysjoy 01/11/2007 #

I rec'd beautiful knitted/crocheted potholders today. Such a beautiful red! I'm excited!

KarlaKC 01/20/2007 #

Thank you, MustangGirl, for the potholders and recipe and note that I received on Thursday! Loved how thick the cotton potholder was and the second one was soft and fuzzy. I think I will use it as a hotpad. Love the colors of it. :) The spaghetti salad recipe looks interesting too. I will have to try and make that sometime! Thank you!

KarlaKC 01/20/2007 #

Karmah, I was running behind, but I finished packaging your goodies last night and will be mailing your package on Monday, Jan. 22nd! I wanted you to know that I was just running behind but your package is coming in a few days!

KarlaKC 01/20/2007 #

Karmah, your package was mailed today (Saturday!). I expect you should see it next week! Let me know when it arrives, ok? ENJOY! :)

Chef Sheela, I received my potholders from you right away and absolutely love them! They are perfect for my kitchen. Thank you! Before I could get you a thank you note off in the mail, my husband cleaned up my "mess" and tossed the envelope with your address on it. I'm so sorry! I always try to send a note... )o:

I received my pot holders this past week. Thanks so much Joy! I love them. Love the colors and the mitt is really going to come in handy. My boys are excited for me to try out the soup recipe that you sent. They said that it sounded delicious. I will probably try it this week since it has been sooo cold here in Southern Cal. :0)

Cakers 01/25/2007 #

Whoever has not received their potholders, leave a comment on my blog (knitgirl63.wordpress.com) or send me an email (knitgirl63 AT hotmail DOT com) and I'll try to contact the person who is supposed to be sending to you.

Thanks, Patty

JayJay 01/30/2007 #

I sure hope patience does pay off! I still haven't gotten anything. :( This was my first swap, too (and perhaps my last).

user3814 02/ 1/2007 #

My partner is purplemorgan. You should have received my pot holders by now. Please send me an email when you get them. My son has bronchitis and it has been really difficult for me to get to the post office the past few weeks. Thanks!
