I am confused by the paper thin comment. My jeans I am wearing right now are thinner than paper I like to use. I highly doubt you are meaning what I think you mean.

MamaMay, I suspect she means no cheap, low thread count fabrics. They are terible to work with and the edges fray very easily.

nanetteyf 12/29/2012 #

Yeah like the Walmart $1/yard. I've been on many fabric swaps and gotten these cheap fabrics back. Just basically have to throw these out since they're no good for any of the projects that i do :-/

Ok, that makes sense. I was thinking, "what weight of paper is she thinking?" So tissue paper/cheap toilet paper weight? Is prewashed ok? I have lots of batiks and older garment cottons I have used in the past and I always prewash that.

Thank you to all my buddies, @MamaMay @bgailk @nanetteyf for the questions and clarifying what I mean by "paper thing fabrics". You are EXACTLY right!

Quilting fabric is thinker and has a higher thread count making it much better for the lasting projects we will make from these 5" charms.

When I started our quilting bee at church last year he first 3 quilt blocks I taught them to make were from my stash of 5" Charms. I always try to keep a supply on hand for any project I might decide to make! They are so versatile!

I hope this year brings lots of new participants in this time-treasured swap series. We've been doing this series longer than I've been in swap-bot, as I inherited it from one of my former swap-bot friends. Swap-on, and enjoy!

Looking forward to this one. I have a nice stash of charms already cut.

Just printed fabric any design or image or solid?

perkl8r 01/ 7/2013 #

any colored print 100% cotton good quality fabric, senders choice of colors

I've been cutting charms this evening and getting ready for this swap. I need to find some yellow fabric in my stash so I can cut some to add to the stack. I have just about every color now except some yellows. I like to have a variety of colors and prints ready.....just in case!

Ok, so I just went over my $ stuff for the year and I can only send so many packages out per month. I will see if I have money saved for next time!

nanu 01/21/2013 #

I thought about cutting a selection of colours and patterns but as I have a few ready cut charm packs left from projects i will send from a pack. That way they will coordinate and can be bulked out easily for any project. I hope to post these by the weekend.
