Description:

This is the Category Challenge Swap for people in the US. Because of postage increases we thought we would give people on a tight budget a chance to join in on the fun too :)

Basically you will choose things from each category (quantity for each category varies, see below) and send them to your partner.

You will have one partner. This is sender's choice but please take into consideration your partner's interests and dislikes. However, if you don't like something you get, but it meets the swap requirements, they still get rated a 5.

Typical Swap-botty Type Stuff Category: CHOOSE THREE!

a) 1 decorated/altered and filled 32 count matchbox (senders choice for theme)

b) 20 random assorted buttons

c) 10 personalized swap cards

d) 10 random assorted brads

e) 1 sheet of personalized address labels

f) 2 handmade envelopes

g) 1 handmade ATC (senders choice for theme)

h) 3 postcards (1 touristy, 1 artsy, 1 random)

Fancy/Inspirational category: CHOOSE THREE!

a) something interesting you found on the ground

b) a list of songs that you think your partner would like (that they should look into getting from iTunes or somewhere else) based on their interests

c) a quote that you like that you put on paper and somehow make fancy (decorated, on cardstock, printed, etc.)

d) a profile surprise

e) a list of 30 things that makes you happy

f) a one page introductory letter to your partner

g) 1 baby food jar sized whimsey jar

h) 1 thrift store goodie/surprise

Challenge Category: CHOOSE ONE!

a) empty the contents of your wallet or another place where you might keep keepsakes. pick out random items that you think represent you. place them onto a photocopier (you can also tape them onto a piece of paper so they stay easier when you flip it over) and make a xerox of your momentos. the xerox is the finished copy. number the items on the xeroxed copy and write a corresponding key/legend for your partner letting them know what each thing means.

b) participate in and document a random act of kindness (i.e. photograph what you do while not giving away your purpose to strangers) such as leaving something nice/special out for someone to find, putting a quarter in a parking meter that has run out of money, or give someone begging for money on the street some food or money, etc. anything to brighten someone's day. write to your partner a little note about what the act was, how it made you feel, when/where it was done, etc.

c) a mini version of the 365 photo project: take a picture each day for one week and print your pictures off and write on the back of each photograph what the picture is of, what it means/represents, when it was taken, etc.
