Description:

The September 2013 Fandom in a Bag swap is Studio Ghibli. All studio creations are fair game.

Step 1: Please list in the comments your favorite characters, movies, moments, or any other preference you may have.

Step 2: After partners are assigned, check to see what your partner likes. You can follow-up with a message if you need to know more. Then scrounge up, buy, and/or create items that fit in a bag. Your bag must contain at least 7 different types of items although more is certainly encouraged (PLEASE try to make it look full).

Some ideas of themed items: stickers, ATCs, postcards, toys/action figures, comics, note cards, pins/buttons, magnets, jewelry, trading cards, legal music CDs, charms, ornaments, books, bookmarks, address labels, postcards, plushies/stuffies, promo stills/autograph cards, fainfic, zines, etc.

More specific ideas: Totoro plushies, Noface mask, yarn/wool dust sprites, dragon naming guide, zine about how to survive if you suddenly find yourself in a Miyazaki world, mini broomstick, cat stuffie/statuette, tribal face/body paint, manga, etc.

Be sure to check your partner's profile so you don't send anything he or she might be allergic to.

Step 3: Put the items in a ziplock-type bag. Size: 1 gallon (measures AT LEAST 10 inches by 11 inches or 28cm by 26.5 cm). You can decorate the bag or incorporate the bag into something (mount it or sew something around it). If you want to make or buy a bag instead of using a ziplock plastic one, that's fine as well, but it should be at least a gallon in size. All items you gather or create should fit into the bag (if a couple are too big, that's fine).

Assemble your bags during the month of September and please send by the deadline (October 1).

NO FLAKING ALLOWED! All flakers will be turned into pigs.

My favorite character is definitely Totoro. I can't get enough of him and the other little forest spirits.

My favorite movies are My Neighbor Totoro and Howl's Moving Castle

I LOVE the environmental themes in a lot of Miyazaki's films.

Studio Ghibli films I've seen and loved are: My Neighbor Totoro, Howl's Moving Castle, Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, Castle in the Sky, Kiki's Delivery Service, Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, Whisper of the Heart, The Cat Returns, Arrietty.

I wasn't so fond of Porco Rosso. The others I haven't seen yet.

I saw Spirited Away first. It was weird, but I loved all the imagery and characters and it made me very curious. I love the dragon, the little suit creatures, Noface, etc. And then I saw Kiki's Delivery Service, which was super adorable. I loved Kiki and Jiji and the concept of having a useful witch around. It was a light and playful movie. When I saw Howl's Moving Castle, I fell in love. What a perfect studio to bring that book and its characters to life. I love every bit of that movie.

I've you've got any specific questions, send me a message! I love cute things and useful thing. I love wolves and nature and movies that make you look at life a little differently and creatively.

Oh goodness, Howls Moving Castle, Spirited Away, Ponyo, and Princess Mononoke top my list though you could honestly include any Studio Ghibli stuff.

I especially love the Wood Sprites from Princess Mononoke, I do love pigs so if you wanted to include something like that in reference to Spirited away that would be awesome. :) And I love the little soot sprites. :) If you want more details or any concerns about my likes please feel free to message me. I will happily respond ^.^

My favorite films are Princess Mononoke, Howl's Moving Castle, Spirited Away, The Cat Returns, Laputa Castle in the Sky, My Neighbor Totoro, Kiki's Delivery Service, Ponyo, Arrietty.. I like almost all of them :)

The only ones I don't like so much are Nausicaä, Porco Rosso, Pom Poko and My Neighbor the Yamadas.

Some characters I like: the white wolves (Princess Mononoke), Haku as a dragon (Spirited Away), Totoro, Mei and the Catbus (My Neighbor Totoro), Jiji (Kiki's Delivery Service, my penpal made me a Jiji plushie and it's adorable!) and Ponyo. I can't choose characters from Howl's Moving Castle, I love the whole movie! ^-^

I'm pretty sure I will be happy with anything that has something to do with my fave Ghibli movies :) This is my first swap in this group so I don't really know what to wish for! ^-^

I love all Myazaki's movies but my favorite is Princess Mononoke (the first one I watched ^^) Spirited Away and Laputa are close seconds, I enjoyed Nausicaa, Howl moving castle and Arrietty.
I love the wolfs in Mononoke and the Dragon Aku in Spirited Away
I have a soft spot for Totoro and Jiiji (Kiki's delivery service) I adore the anime Conan

I'm not creazy about Ponyo Porco Rosso, Pom Poko and My Neighbor the Yamadas.

It's difficoult to make a top list I love them all and I'm sure I'll be happy with anything you'll get me!

My favorite movies are Spirited away, Howl's Moving Castle and My Neighbor Totoro.

Spirited away was the first Ghibli movie I saw so it has a special place in my heart. I don't have any specific favorite character in that.

My all time favorite character is Hauru (Howl; I like a lot more his original japanese name!) from Howl's moving castle. But I also like Calcifer and Markl. This movie is probably my favorite.

In totoro I love everything. It's just so cute movie. Of course totoro itself but I've always liked the catbus very much!

After all I like everything related to those three movies. I like animals and dragons and male characters more than female ones.

If you have any questions feel free to contact me.
