This is encompassing the idea of swap-bot in one envie! An alphabetical scavenger hunt of sorts...see it as a swap-bot kit! Be creative, have fun, send something you would like to receive, be generous. Notes & Tips given below:

Creative Interpretation: Most items on the list are open to your interpretation. think out of the box, improvise, interpret creatively. Some of the prompts are literal - (Magnets, Ribbons etc.), whereas some can be interpreted in different ways, eg.

  • Oriental - Can range from a pair of chopsticks to a Japanese Origami papers
  • List - Can be any list - playlist, movies to watch, bucket list etc.
  • Instagram - you can follow your partner on instagram if they have one, or send them something made form your instagram photos
  • Quotable Quotes - write it nicely on a pretty piece of paper or do a simple decoration - your partner might want to pin it up by the desk or something..
  • Haiku - Make an ATC out of it or just write it nicely on a pretty paper - add a doodle maybe...
  • Unbirthday surprise - wrap it... make it more fun! Put some effort in!
  • Mail art - if you are going to make an envie from scratch, although its senders choice and you can pick any theme, might as well check for partners preferred themes...

Quantity: There are no firm rules on how much of each but be generous! The envelope as a whole should loosely be around $6- $8 in value

  • Balance your envie - If you are sending notecards and address labels instead of note pad and ATC's - balance it with Hair accessory instead of Haiku..
  • If you are sending sending Kawaii Sticker instead of Keychain, atleast send 2 sheets - imagine what you would be happy with..
  • If you are sending ribbon - atleast make it enough for one project or send an assortment, not just a tiny bit.. or a fabric piece - atleast make it 3x3in..

Handmade vs. Store Bought:

Senders choice - as long as your bookmarks arent sticker slapped and your postcards aren't printed at home on flimsy paper .. handmade is good-- even better if it is profile based or customised (not compulsory) do not send Junk! ATC's or zines can be handmade or by another artist - give the artist full credit - ATC's are meant to be traded.

Senders choice vs. Receivers choice:

This is senders choice. But... since the quantities are not fixed and the preferences like store bought/ handmade etc are not set - its best you read the profile of your partner.. always nice to send them what they will love..try to find things with their fav themes (although it is not compulsory) and please read the dislike sections - dont send them things they specifically have asked not to be sent.

Lastly:

You may say I dont sew - I have no use for fabric or I'm not into postcards - what will I do with them.. or I have no idea what a zentangle even is... Let this swap be the start of something new.. try it out, nobodys perfect.. maybe you will end up discovering a new hobby..Think of it as a chance to de-stash too.. also the beauty of swap-bot is you receive all kinds of things and you find some use for them even if you have never used it before.. if we could control exactly what we received then we could just buy it! So get ready to be (pleasantly!) surprised! :)

Requirements/Flaking:

  • Rating requirement: 5.0 only, exceptions maybe included on a case -to case basis.
  • Atleast 10 Type 3 completed swaps. No newbies.
  • I can not angel this swap right away but will check profiles very very throughly.

If you have any questions/suggestions, Pl. PM me or leave a comment.

Received some messages to make this a little more flexible - hence the edit! :) You have to pick a minimum of 20 alphabets & send 20 items to complete the swap. Finding items for the entire 26 can be done, but is not compulsory.

I believe that's the longest swap description in swap-bot history.
