Description:

Welcome to the 'Craft Supplies DESTASH' swap! I've been wanting to host one of these for awhile and I'm pretty excited about it. :) If this one goes well, I will most likely do another one.

Rules / Guidelines

  • I'm going to say no newbies for this one, just because it's a bigger swap and I'd like to get a feel for it first. This is also a regional swap for USA only
  • Must have a rating of at least 4.8 with no recent threes or ones (within the last 4 months).
  • This swap can be profile based but it's mainly just to destash supplies that you don't want or need anymore.
  • You should send enough to fill a small, flat rate box. Don't send a whole box of the same things, mix it up and add all sorts of supplies.
  • When rating your partner, do not go by whether or not you liked what you received (you can leave a heart for that if you want). It's based on whether or not you actually received the swap and if what you received followed the guidelines.

Some on ideas on what to send: paper scraps, beads, buttons, jewelry findings, ephemera, charms, paint, stickers, chipboard, die cuts, stencils, yarn, fabric, felt, etc. Anything that will fit in the box!

If you have any questions or suggestions for this swap, please post in the comments section or leave me a PM. Have fun and happy swapping!

This sounds like a fun swap but 4.5 is extremely low!

megalynn 02/ 1/2014 #

I will raise the ratings minimum if it will make everyone feel more comfortable about swapping. :)

Deeno1105 02/ 3/2014 #

I, personally, like the higher rating. So many sign up and don't send either intentionally or don't have time due to joining too many swaps at once.

megalynn 02/ 4/2014 #

I've changed all my swaps to minimum rating of 4.8. I agree with you, @Deeno1105

artist60164 02/12/2014 #

How much is a flat rate box?

beenebag 02/13/2014 #

According to the USPS
Small Flat Rate Box Priority Mail® 8-5/8" x 5-3/8" x 1-5/8" $5.80

megalynn 02/14/2014 #

Thank you for answering that question, @beenebag :) You can get the boxes for free on the USPS website (or your local post office might have them). I ordered a bundle of 10, free shipping and everything! It just costs a flat rate to mail them out. I believe anything that fits in the box up to 70 lbs will ship.

@megalynn - Can we use the Flat Rate Padded Envelope? I can certainly stuff more in this envelope instead of the Small Flat Rate box. It cost a little more, but I am okay with that. Let me know...thanks.

megalynn 02/22/2014 #

Yes, @Love2ScrapNCraft that's fine!

fireyvalkyrie 03/ 5/2014 #

I join the site because it sounded fun but I think I'm going to just forget about it cuz I'm new and nobody wants to let me do anything just because I'm new to all of this is very disheartening

KawaiiCollection 03/ 5/2014 #

I just signed up for swap-bot but I would really like to join this swap. I have a ton of kawaii stickers and stationery, craft supplies like paper, glitter, glass bottles, jewelry findings, cabochons, etc... I understand you set certain rules but I'm having trouble finding any kawaii trades that I can join! Please let me know :3

Leejas72 03/ 6/2014 #

Just so I understand, these things can be used? Like possibly dies or stamps? Things like that as well?

grayeyes9093 03/ 8/2014 #

I agree. I just signed up and I have a lot of stuff to swap too, so how am I supposed to get started if I am restricted on the only one I found?

marchy 03/10/2014 #

Do you know of an international version of this I can join? I've joined one in the past and loved it!

megalynn 03/10/2014 #

@Leejas72 Yes, things like that can be used. You shouldn't buy anything new for this swap. It's to destash things you already have and may not use.

As for newbies, you can check out the Newbie Helpers group. They are great at helping newbies get established. You can also do some quick email swaps to get easy ratings. I may do a newbie friendly version of this later, but since it's my first "big" swap, I wanted to keep it to veteran members. So I apologize. I don't know about an International version.

Watsonc7 03/10/2014 #

Oooh if I can get one more rating (some of my ATC partners are taking their time) then I can join, fingers crossed for the next few days! Signing up for the quick-rating newbie swaps just feels a little too cheat-y for me....but I'd love to be in this one so I might have to go that route :(

megalynn 03/13/2014 #

If this swap goes well, I will consider doing a newbie version. I've had a lot of newbies show interest in this!
