Description:

This is a USA-only swap but feel free to start an international version.

Below is a list of categories of items, all with three specific choices. You need to choose SIX of the categories, and then chose ONE item from each category to send. At least TWO of the items you pick should be profile-based, the other FOUR can be sender’s choice.

Category 1. DESK SUPPLIES: new 2 gel pens OR 10 sheets of memo paper (at least 3 designs) OR 1 letter/stationery set

Category 2. 2D CRAFT EMBELLISHMENTS: 25 stickers (larger than a fingernail) OR 15 shaped paper embellishments OR 15 non-paper flat embellishments

Category 3. 3D CRAFT EMBELLISHMENTS: 3 different pieces of ribbon (12” at least) OR 15 brads (a variety) OR 10 prima flowers

Category 4. FABRIC/SEWING: 5 different charm squares (5”x5”) OR 25 different scrap vomit squares (2.5”x2.5”) OR 20 different buttons (about the size or larger than a fingernail)

Category 5. PAPER: 5 book pages OR 5 different squares of scrapbook paper (5”x5” at least) OR 10 different ATC-sized (2.5”x3.5”) papers

Category 6. MAIL: 4 unused/new postcards OR 3 new greeting cards OR 3 different handmade envelopes

Category 7. EPHEMERA: 25 used postage stamps in excellent condition OR 5 stamped images on white cardstock OR 15 pieces of other ephemera (playing cards, tickets, labels, et cetera)

Category 8. MISCELLANEOUS: 15 return address labels for your partner OR 2 recipe cards with recipes OR a piece of your own art (an ATC, some inchies/twinchies, a Zentangle, anything you’ve made yourself).

For example, I might choose to send memo paper from Category 1, ribbon from Category 3, buttons from Category 4, book pages from Category 5, stamps from Category 7, and a piece of my art from Category 8 ... though based on my partner's profile, I'm sure to actually send different items than these.

You may not combine items within a category - for instance, you cannot send 1 gel pen and 5 memo papers from Category 1. You must send one or the other.

It would be nice if you additionally sent an small profile surprise or some extras, but this isn’t required. I know I always send extras.

These items must be high-quality materials. It is okay if an item has been removed from its package, so long as it is still in good, usable condition. In other words, no trash. Only send items you would be delighted to receive yourself.

MAKE SURE your profile is filled out with your likes, dislikes, favorites, interests, et cetera - so your partner has some clues as what to send for the profile-based items!

You will have two weeks to send once partners have been assigned (on March 13). When you receive your package, please rate a 5 if your partner followed the rules and all the items are included and in good condition. Give hearts as you see fit.

Usual swap rules apply. Again, this is USA-only swap. Users must have a rating of 4.95 to participate, and I will ban anyone with questionable 1's or 3's. Newbies are welcome with a filled-out profile and 15+ sent Type 3 swaps (if you don't meet these requirements and want to join, please message me! Preferably prior to the night before the Sign-Up Deadline!). I expect NO FLAKERS to join!!! If necessary, I will angel this swap - notify me as soon as you suspect trouble.

If you have any questions, please comment on the swap or private message me. Looking forward to this swap!

Do sticky notes count as memo paper?

lttleetoile 03/ 5/2014 #

If they are interesting and decorative, yes. But if they are just plain old yellow sticky notes, no. Thanks for asking!

I'm going to put a note in the swap itself, but also wanted to leave it as a comment: MAKE SURE your profile is filled out with your likes, dislikes, interests, et cetera - so your partner has some clues as what to send for the profile-based items!

To say send only quality items could be in the eyes of the beholder. I found stationary from the antique store that may seem like trash to receiver but to the sender was an adorable item. May cause rating problem.

To say send only quality items could be in the eyes of the beholder. I found stationary from the antique store that may seem like trash to receiver but to the sender, me, an adorable item. May cause rating problem. What do you think? Should I send it or not?

lttleetoile 03/ 6/2014 #

Perhaps send it as ephemera instead? Or send it, as well as some nice stationery, with a note explaining that you thought it was adorable. If your partner's profile indicates that they do not like antique or vintage items, I wouldn't send it at all. I hope this helps!

Please keep the questions coming if you have them!

She does like vintage! Solved!!
