Description:

Brighten up the day of your partner AND postal workers by sending one handcrafted postcard!

  • Your post card must be a minimum of 4" x 6" (10.16 cm x 15.24 cm). Your card can be larger than this, but not smaller. Check your local postal requirements; a large card may require extra postage.
  • Stamp, paint, color, zentangle, collage, sew, draw... on a base that is sturdy enough to go through postal machines.
  • Art is sender's choice, but be a thoughtful partner and don't send anything that would offend the recipient.
  • Use art techniques that are interesting and that take more than 15 minutes of your time. Do not just put some stickers on a piece of card stock and consider it done. This can earn you a 3 rating.
  • Write a message on the back to your partner, something more than, "Here is your postcard." Maybe explain how and why you created what you did.
  • Mail your postcard naked (not in an envelope).
  • Mail ON TIME. Mailing late can earn you a 3 rating.
  • Rate promptly and accurately. This is one of the responsibilities of being a member of SB.
  • Communicate with your partner and host if there are problems.

Edited to add: A postcard is a flat, 2-sided card. It is NOT a folded card that fits in an envelope. The back will look something like this:
