Description:

Let's build a cookbook! This is the first of a series of recipe card swaps. When the series ends, you should have enough recipe cards to fill a handmade cookbook, or enough to keep in a recipe card box to make a very nice collection! So here are the details

3 partners 2 recipes for an APPETIZER

Recipes must be on a card no larger than 6x5.5 - they can be hand written or printed, but please put them on a sturdy cardstock, not just a computer paper printout. Handmade recipe cards are preferred, but not mandatory, there are a lot of awesome store bought recipe cards out there! Please make sure recipes are easy to read and directions are understandable if you are handwriting them :-)

Be creative but try not to over embellish cards so they can easily fit into a collection box or book!

I'm going to rate this a level 3, so please put some time and effort into making your own recipe cards, OR decorating store bought one, OR decorating the envie you mail them in in some way. I will also allow newbies with a well filled out profile, and make it international. It is 1.15 to send a letter from the USA to anywhere else, so this should be very affordable! There will be three rounds going at the same time, and we will repeat each category at least once, as long as the swaps are going well!

I WILL angel this swap if necessary, but I will also be removing anyone prior to assigning partners that doesn't have a well filled out profile, or with any unexplained 1's or 3's. Please rate your partner a 5 if they send you a recipe fitting the category on time, even if the recipe isn't one you like! (I'm sure that goes without saying, though!)

Any questions? Feel free to ask!

Your swaps are for flat mail, which is a type 2 swap. Please change them :) I hope to participate in some of them!

It would be nice if the send dates were staggered by a week so all three swaps are not due at once? I'll watch and see if I can manage all three at once for now....

Babsmomof5 07/20/2014 #

Margo, I rated them a 3 because of the creativity level for handmade recipe cards. Little red, I'll change the end dates, but these aren't profile specific, so you could really have them all ready to go, and just address them at the assigned date :-) Thanks for the comments!

hello, does the 3 partners 2 recipes part mean each partner you send two recipes to?

Babsmomof5 07/24/2014 #

Yes! You'll send three different partners, 2 recipes for different dishes for this swap. :-)

What are the different categories that will be given, so we can work on them before hand. I make mine all by hand so it does take a lot of time.

You need to decide on a recipe card size, Ie., 4X6 or 3X5"., that would be very helpful.

msrhetta 07/29/2014 #

A standard set size, not "No bigger than"., if we all make cards the same size, then we know they'll fit. I say 4X6" gives more room for creativity and fits in a standard recipe box.

Babsmomof5 08/ 1/2014 #

4x 6 will be the standard size listed from now on. I haven't decided on every category yet, I wanted to see how well the swap took off first. Right now I am planning appetizer, soup, salad, chicken/turkey beef, fish/seafood, casseroles, dessert. I may split dessert into cakes, pies, and cookies/candy. I'm also thinking a veggies/side dishes category would be nice. I'd love everyone's input! What would you like to see?

halewis1213 08/ 2/2014 #

I would like a veggie/side dish category. I'd also be interested in categories for beverage, sandwich, separate dessert categories including a general dessert, brunch, breads, quick meals, pizzas, & pasta.

Excellent suggestions! Thanks! Halewis1213

No efforts put into the cards I received. One was even smudged with what looked like something that had spilled. The cards can be cute and creative and still lay flat. I was very disappointed. Since the swaps met the requirements, I will rate them as "5'., however I would love to see you bring out your creativeness.

Sorry you didn't like your cards msrhetta! I received some really nice ones. Hopefully you will have better ones next time!
