Description:

A friend recently told me about "Send kids the world", a page where you can get the address of a sick child and send him/her a postcard to cheer them up. It's such a great idea and I've been sending postcards to some children since. So I thought it would be great if we could make a swap out of it.

The idea is, that you send your partner one postcard and at least one postcard to a sick child. The postcards are senders choice, but please choose something that is suitable for the child you pick and check out the rules, your message is supposed to cheer them up, so a nice quote or a simple "Greetings from ..." is a good idea. Don't write "get well soon" or something like that since some of the children probably won't recover. You can get more information and choose one/more child/children here: http://www.sendkidstheworld.com/index.php/home.html

So, to sum up: one postcard (can be send naked and stamped or in an envelope) to a child you picked from the page AND another one for your partner. Lets spread some happiness!

I absolutely love the Idea of this swap! Ive been wanting to do something like this but didn't know of any websites like this to send to, Ive already picked a child out ( she has the same name as my daughter ) <3 I will definatly be sending out more postcards in the future for these poor children. It just breaks my heart of all the things they have to go through. :/ Thank you for creating this swap =]

I belong to this site and unfortunately they don't keep their addresses up to date. I have sent out at least 3 or 4 that have been returned to me with the statement they are undeliverable. I do keep trying however out of the 10 I have sent 4 have been returned.

Thank you for your comments! Momskii, that's sad! I don't know any other sites like that that do have their addresses updated. Does anyone else know another site? Still, I hope we'll succeed in bringing some joy in the life of a sick child!

Love this idea as it hits home for me, my 3 year old grandson is currently battling leukemia and undergoing chemo treatments, etc.

kacka, yes, that's the idea! I'm also sending postcards to different children, I really hope this cards can make a difference in the life of that child. I used to cheer up a friend when he was in hospital (but too far away so I couldn't visit him) with nearly daily postcards and it really helped him to get back on his feet, so I'm hoping they'll have the same effect on the kids!
