Description:

I had this idea for a swap and I hope it hasn't been done before! If so, please PM me or comment below and I will credit the original host!

I saw a video online a while back about doing one granny square per week for a full year and at the end of the year, you can connect them together for an afghan that will remind you of the entire year! I loved this idea, but I loved it even more as a swap series.

For this swap (and all future swaps in this series), you will crochet 2 6-inch granny squares. The pattern and colors are completely up to you. However, keep it as close to 6 inches as you can and the yarn should be a worsted/medium weight (to make our afghan at the end of the year more uniform). As for the material of the yarn, make sure it is machine-washable, but that is the only requirement.

Yes, this means some of the yarns may be fuzzy, some may be smooth, etc - but every granny square you send (and receive) should be worsted/medium weighted yarn AND 6 inches, so you will be able to crochet them all together to create a lovely afghan.

Crochet your two granny squares and send them with a note with your Swap-Bot ID and swap name (be sure to include the entire swap title with the week number)! Send on time!

If you receive two 6-inch granny squares, sent on time, and with a note with your partner's ID and swap title, you should rate a 5 since they met all requirements.

If you sign up for every swap in this series, you will be able to create an afghan at the end of the year!

Such a great idea! I have no patience to finish big projects. And what a neat idea to make a blanket that is a part of different people!
