Description:

You have finished reading a fantasy book and want to pass it to someone else? Here's the opportunity! Send one (1) used Fantasy book to your partner. I'm keeping this to Fantasy genre books because in "general" book swaps, the risk of having to send to a partner with a completely different taste in literature is too high. So, in this swap, all subgenres of Fantasy are allowed.

When you join this swap, please write in the swap comments which language(s) you speak. The language of this swap is English. So please send only English language books or books in another language the recipient has stated in the swap comments.

You can also state your preferred Fantasy subgenre(s), however, there is no guarantee that your swap partner will send something like it. This is just in case your partner has several books to choose from and is trying to decide which one you'd probably like best. (Examples of fantasy subgenres: High Fantasy, Sword&Sorcery, Urban Fantasy, Dark Fantasy, ...)

Sender's Choice, but please check the swap comments and your partner's profile in case they mention favorite author(s), and to get a feeling for what books they might like! (If your partner mentions genre(s) that are strictly-speaking not-quite-fantasy, but close to it - like mythology, SciFi or Steampunk - you may send also something from that genre! But only then! Otherwise it has to be firmly fantasy.)

Only send books in decent, readable condition - some creased pages, small scratches and, in case of pocket books, bent spines are okay as a normal sign of use. However, please don't send moldy or otherwise gross books, ex-library books, books falling apart, or books smelling strongly of smoke or animals. Really, any book that suffered something cruel and unusual should be off limits here. :)

To join this swap, you need to have a well filled out profile and at least 10 finished type 3 swaps. No newbies this time, sorry!

I understand English and German. I prefer reading books in the language they were written in. :)

Preferred Genres... um...

The books I enjoyed lately are summarized under the cute nickname "Grimdark". (Authors like Joe Abercrombie, George RR Martin, Richard Morgan, Mark Lawrence --- I have all the books by the mentioned authors, but if you have something similar in style by another author, I'd be totally happy!)

I also like epic fantasy and classical Sword&Sorcery and I enjoyed some Urban Fantasy novels quite a lot. I also like SciFi, Cyberpunk, Steampunk, and "weird" fantastical novels that are not easily categorized. Genre crossovers are fun! :) Really, I read a lot and you can't do anything wrong. If you're not sure whether I have already read a book, you can ask me in a PM.

(The only thing I really don't like so much is the whole Vampire Romance subgenre starting with Twilight. I don't mind a love story in my books and I'm not offended by sex, I just like the focus of a story on an actual plot, not on teenager relationship troubles.)

I read English, Arabic, and some Spanish (but it's hard!). Also Latin but I doubt you'll find those.

I can only read English, but I don't mind what sub-genre I get. I have some of my favourite authors on my profile, but I've got all of their books. I love discovering new authors so don't be worried about sending me something a bit different!
