Description:

This is an easy, fun swap.

  • Start with a note card, used or new. It can be blank inside or have a greeting.
  • Tape 2 sides of the card closed. These 2 sides, along with the natural fold, will leave one side open. It will either be the top or the bottom depending on the card orientation). This creates the pocket.
  • Into the pocket put some papery items from your stash (stickers, pretty papers, recipes, punch-outs or die-cuts, decorative tape samples, stamped images for them to color, a note card, post-its, etc.). It’s always nice to check your partner’s profile to see what you have that they might enjoy. Also add a little happy note telling about your day - please add more than "here is the swap."
  • Aim for making it a little puffy (one to two stamps worth).
  • Tape the pocket closed. This sealed card pocket will be sent “naked” (no envelope) through the mail. (See "P.S." below)
  • Address the backside of the card (it may not be plain; that's ok), add appropriate postage (see note below), and mail it off to your partner to brighten their day. :)

Note: For USA participants, please read the "IMPORTANT POSTAL INFORMATION FOR SENDING MAIL WITHIN THE USA" information on my profile.

Lastly, anyone can join. Flakers have no place in this group and will be dealt with accordingly. Please play nice.

P.S. Please make the sides of your pocket are securely fastened with packing tape - we don't want anything falling out in transit. Another option someone gave in the first round is to put your card pocket into a see-through plastic pocket or bag.

Please watch when you put your card in a plastic wallet or bag, they can go mouldy if they get wet. I have found that out the hard way.

Sorry to hear that @tigerlily2110 I've sent and received them this way and haven't had any problems. But it should be a good tip for us all - if we do choose to use plastic, to make sure it is dry & tightly sealed before you mail it. Of course, we can't help what happens to it once it leaves our hands.

Hello.
This sounds like a fun swap! :)

When you say puffy, one or two stamps worth, how much are we talking? For us non-USA people. ;P 40-50 grams?

ArtyBeth3 05/17/2016 #

@JustMeCreating that's probably about right. Here in the USA, the it would be 1 to 2 ounces; running an online converter showed me that equaled roughly 28 to 56 grams.

Inevitably I always stuff heavier. LOL :)
