Description:

I posted this swap in a different group but was requested to do one for this group. I hope you participate!

After I finished watching the collage episode of Make It Artsy hosted by Julie Fei-Fan Balze, I got so inspired! The episode only airs for a week (for free) on their site but I have the link from their vimeo site here. I don't know how long it will be on their vimeo site but the segment I would love to do a swap on is the first segment with Julie and you can also watch the youtube of just the segment here!

I love the layering of stencils technique over painted scrapbook papers. It's a great way to use some of your less favorable papers. Who wants to make some mail art using this technique? I have a hard time with collage so seasoned collagers might not find this technique new but I hope it was just as inspiring.

So, let's create using a large scrapbook paper as shown in the video. If you don't have any scrapbook paper to use, I don't see why newspaper or magazines or anything printed can't be used! Once we finish, we can cut it down to postcard size and glue it onto some sturdy cardstock so we should have enough for at least 2 postcards. It's your choice whether you want to use the painted papers as is or cut them up to continue the collage element further.

All the normal rules apply! Please send the postcard naked and at least 4x5 in size and to 2 partners. And most importantly, have fun!!
