Description:

In this swap, we will exchange a kit with the materials needed to make a completed craft project. Kits should include the directions to make the craft and everything needed for the final product (except common household items like sewing needles, scissors, tape, or an oven). Ideally, a kit would be homemade and for a craft you yourself are proficient at, but a purchased kit would be alright as long as it otherwise meets the requirements. However, the total cost of your swap materials should not exceed $5(US), and it's perfectly fine to buy nothing and just use stuff you already own.

For example, if I were to swap a kit to make a polish star, I would send a bunch of cut pretty paper circles, some embroidery floss, and detailed directions. If my kit was to make a beaded necklace, I would include beads, wire, a clasp, and directions. A feltie or dotee doll kit would include cut fabric (or uncut fabric and a pattern), a little wad of stuffing, thread/embroidery floss, some embellishments, and directions. A stamped card kit would include card stock, small stamps, a stamp pad, and directions.

These are just some ideas, you can make a kit for whatever craft you like, from paper (or magnet or shrinky dink) crafts to jewelry crafts to sewing crafts - maybe even something more out there, like a baking craft (include all the ingredients except liquids) or soap- or candle-making. However, make sure to check your partner's profile to make sure that the craft seems like something your partner would want and be able to do. Please don't send a specialized skill craft to someone who doesn't have that skill. For example, don't send a knitting craft to someone who doesn't knit, but basic hand sewing should be fine for everyone (unless your partner mentions arthritis or carpal tunnel).

Want some more ideas for craft kits? See this Etsy link.

If you have a special request, feel free to post it in a comment, but realize that it may not be granted and that anything within the guidelines is to be accepted graciously.

Down to the nitty gritty rules:
+ international
+ 4.7 rating and higher
+ at least one 5 rating in a real mail swap
+ no 1s in the last three months (PM me about unfair ratings)
+ not more than $5(US) before shipping

Now get out there, have fun, and try a new craft! If there is anything unclear or that I forgot, don't hesitate to ask.

are zines considered a craft?

I guess they could, sure! Just make sure that you can supply everything the person may need besides common household items (which doesn't include a copy machine) and creativity!
