Description:

January is International Coffee Gourmet month. Start the new year with a buzz! Gourmet coffee IS NOT folgers crystals or some pre-ground flavoured dirt from the 'exotic' corner of the QuickE mart. Read here for an interesting story:

January is International Gourmet Coffee Month

For this swap, we will trade fine coffees tailored to our partner, as well as one of your favourites. Include a little note that explains why you like so much. Whole bean ships best, but make sure your partner has a means to grind it. Also, add some sort of coffee accessories - cup, spoon, special flavour, history of your beans' roast/origin, the perfect sweetener, chocolate accompaniment. Something that makes your coffee experience complete. EDIT BIT This should be for about a pound TOTAL of coffee. If it is several varieties in separate packs, but still comes to about a pound, that's good! END EDIT BIT

This swap is a bit of a commitment, so you must have a rating of 4.8 or higher, and no newbies without pm'ing me first. (sorry guys!) but international is allowed.

So, you must send items to your partner you would wish to recevie yourself, they can be anything you want. The minimum amount spent should be $10. No swappers with ratings below 4.8. Newbies welcome with a VERY complete profile. I will check the profiles of all who sign up for this swap & reserve the right to ban someone who appears questionable.

I have put it on my watchlist!

BigHillGoddess 11/23/2008 #

Most definitely on my watchlist... can't commit that far in advance, but I am known as Coffee Queen at work.

I WOULD LOVE A BOLD WHOLE BEAN..I like no LOVE chocolate bars with my chocolate LOL...I mean coffee...

BigHillGoddess 12/ 8/2008 #

Okay, I couldn't wait.... I signed up. I love strong bold coffees, like columbian and african coffees. I even like chicory, like they brew in Louisiana. I am not a fan of flavored coffees, prefer the actual coffee taste. I do like flavored creamers, however! Whole beans are marvelous, I love to grind the beans as a start to my day.

I am glad you guys are here. I am really looking forward to hanging out with the roaster down the street so I can personally select my swap. If only the beans were still warm when they arrive at my partner's mailbox.

I love COFFEE. I like dark roast coffees, not any flavored coffee. I love the rich taste right after I blend the beans, nothing better.

Hiya I was just rereading this. And do you mean send two types of coffee, one you like personally and one to suit your partner. And is it a pound each or two half pounds? Want to make sure of the specifics before I sign up. Thanx

Fittzwm 12/30/2008 #

Thanks for checking in, Ingrid. I was going for a pound total. (roughly $10 US before postage) If shipping to an international partner, keep total weight in mind. If you & your partner have similar tastes, send more of the one type. Maybe iclude something you like to enjoy with your brew. A recipe, a letter, a cookie...

I, myself, prefer whole bean. Easier to get just the right, fresh grind for my French press.

Hi, Please use a Customs Declaration label when you send to New Zealand. Only send ROASTED whole coffee beans or course ground coffee, must be in a sealed packet in original manufacturers packaging. Thanks, any queries please ask. Please don't send any creamer or dairy products, they may be confiscated. But any other processed food like chocolate/ flavour/ sweets/ cookies are fine to send. I often buy expresso blend, but I like to try new flavours/strengths, so surprise me.

I love a bold stong coffee with caffeine. No Decaf please! Ground is good for me!

Debimrtn 01/ 1/2009 #

I LOVE COFFEE...the real thing best, but decaf is fine for the late night sips.....and I enjoy biscotti with coffee in the a.m......french vanilla (fat free) creamers are wonderful also.....this should be yummy!
