Description:

Yay for monthly swaps! This swap is for January 2009. The theme is Winter Blues. Whether that's a mood, a weather pattern, or a color scheme--that's up to you! Please send a postcard that is somehow related to the theme, and write on the blank side why you chose that particular postcard and how it relates to the theme. You will send 1 postcard to 1 partner.

This is a snail mail swap, not email. The postcards should not be naked. Please remember to include your reason for choosing this postcard and how it relates to the theme!

Envelope or no envelope, please specify in the comment section below. Also, you can indicate whether or not you prefer store-bought or homemade postcards, but please be understanding if your partner can't fulfill that request.

Newbies welcome with a full profile. No minimum rating but please talk to me if you have a questionable swapping past, especially no-sends in the last 3 months. We can try to work something out.

Have fun with the theme. I can't wait to see what everyone chooses!

THIS IS AN INTERNATIONAL SWAP.

this is a test run for the monthly themed swap. what i would like feedback on is 1) should all monthly swaps be international, or should some be regional? 2) how many partners is a good number? and 3) should we separate store-bought postcards and handmade postcards into separate swaps? it will be good to see how this swap plays out and how these issues will be handled. please feel free to comment here or to message me.

also, i will be experimenting with creating a flickr group for our monthly swaps. if you have any information on how to implement this, please message me.

happy swapping!

Just my 2¢: 1. I like swaps to be international. If it's regional or just US, I don't usually participate.

2.As to the right number....hmmm....3 sounds like a good number.

  1. I like to get/make my postcards when I sign up so if swappers don't want handmade, I'd be up a creek if I made them already! So, I guess that means I'd like them separated into store-bought and handmade cards.

Cool to have themes and I like this one!

It's hard for me to imagine why someone wouldn't want a handmade anything! So I'd rather not have them separated. I like the surprise of sometimes getting handmade, but purchased is fine too.

I do like international. It's not that much more for most places I've sent to, especially if we limit the number to no more than 3.

I like themed swaps too! Sounds like fun!

  1. International please..........I'm from Europe......sigh there are so many swaps that are USA-only. For larger mail swaps/fat envies or boxes I can understand that postage could be a problem....but for PCs? or a few ATCs?

  2. A few partners is good, maybe 3 or 5.

  3. I love both storebought and handmade cards, but I don't have time to make cards for every swp I'ld love to do..........so a mix swap would be great: I can or cannot send handmade cards as I have them available and I always love recieving handmade cards!
