Description:

Round 9! And thanks Thefinderofthings for the idea :) For this swap, we will be cramming flat rate boxes full of anything and everything. You want to go for miscellaneous, random, varied items.. and of course, you probably want to make it as heavy as possible.. just because you can :)

Be aware that this isn't necessarily about getting stuff you need, so if you get stuff you can't use send it to your local thrift store or re-swap it. or freecycle it. or whatever. But please, please do NOT send trash or anything downright disgusting. Your partner can rate a 3 for that. But be aware-- you will probably receive used items in this swap. That's kind of the point. Just use good judgement in sending and rating, eh? Also-- for possible hearts-- I encourage you to have a look at your partner's profile and send things they might enjoy...

And in keeping with the original this is US ONLY. NOT INTERNATIONAL

If you have any questions, PM ME.

As far as who can join-if you are new you must have at least participated in 3 real swaps. and you must have at least a 4.2 to JOIN. i'm leaving this pretty open since we're not exactly swapping diamonds here. if you don't meet these requirements and still want to join, PM. I may make exceptions on a case-by-case basis.

What size flat rate box, or am I being ignorant & there is only one size?

Swan 12/21/2008 #

I would assume that it's one of the normal size flat rate boxes. There are two shapes available that both have the same price for postage. You'd want to use the one that works better for the items you're sending. There's also a large flat rate box and at some point next year, I think in January, there'll be a small flat rate box, too. I'm just assuming it's not one of those. The small one will be pretty small. And why spend extra for the large unless you have to?

Swan 12/21/2008 #

Oh, cat, you've set the location for the swap as International, you should change that to Regional - USA...

cat 12/21/2008 #

I can't - there's some kind of technical issue which prevents me from doing so :/

But yes, Swan's right. There are two sizes flat rate boxes which are a little over $9. (I can't recall the exact postage right now off the top of my head)

Large ones would be for possible hearts. No small ones.

There are two boxes and I believe the square inches is about the same, if you were sending book or bottle shape items you would want the long one other wise you would want the square one.

You might wanna put the "USA only" note on the first line. I just read half the description for nothing :p Sounds like a neat swap though. Would you consider hosting an international one at a later time? We dont have flat rate boxes here, but Im sure I could find an equivalent if you post the measurements of the box.

Hmm... maybe in the near future I will do an international cereal box swap :)
