I love homemade four cheeses pizza. I always make it myself with four kind of cheeses and creme fraiche. Why? Because a homemade pizza is so much better then one from the freezer. The taste is to die for. Fresh ingrediënts and an explosing or different flavours in your mouth. There is nothing better then a homamde pizza (well, maybe one in a restaurant) other then that, a big no!

My favorite dish is steamed white rice, with butter. It is my go to for comfort food. I grew up eating rice, and you wouldn't think it would be something you would crave if you didn't have it, but it is. I love the fragrance of it when it is cooking, and I love the taste and texture of it. I also love that it reminds me of my childhood and brings so many happy thoughts. So simple and so good.

One of my favorite dishes as of currently is heavily seasoned--and buttered--fish! I love to try a variety of flavors when it comes to cooking fish. I've made chili garlic & maple syrup (yup, odd food combo!), shallot & butter, lemon & parmesan seasoning and lastly, panko fish! I honestly just really love seafood.

Fruit parfait!!! I like purchasing Zoli greek yogurt, fresh strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries...bananas...and sometimes kiwi to my parfait, and a little dollop of whipped cream will do! Dont forget the cherry on top!!

I love my wife’s Beef Stroganoff. It is creamy and tasty. Though her recipe is from her grandmother, it is pretty much the same as in the Betty Crocker cookbook. The three notable exceptions are that she makes it with ground beef, instead of sliced tenderloin steak; freshly crushed garlic and; she adds a teaspoon of brown mustard.

We don’t have it often as it is rather rich and not really the healthiest choice. She tried making some changes once, to healthen it up, but it was just no longer a treat that way.

There may actually be another exception. This one to the way her Grammy served it. Gram's recipe card has another recipe, on the opposite side, for home-made egg noodles. They would probably be good but…

Chicken Tikka Masala with a side of garlic naan is my favorite food dish right now. 🥰😋 The smell of it brings back positive childhood memories of being in a big, warm house, surrounded by love and family! I had a very kind nanny who was from Fiji. I would go there after Kindergarten class was over and play in the backyard with her older daughter who was always kind to me. We picked fresh lemons in the tree they had and then cut them in half and salt them to eat - one half each! I recall smelling the spices stewing as we played...then when sun had set, we would go inside and eat this delicious meal together with aromatic basmati rice. It’s a true comfort food for me in more than one way!!! And the biggest PLUS is it’s completely soy-free so I can eat it as much as I like, despite my thyroid disease!!! YAY for 🤤 YUMMY FOODS!!!

My favorite dish is chicken schnitzel with pasta and mushroom sauce! I prefer homemade ones than buying in a restaurant because when I cook it myself, I can make it the way I want it and also I can pick all of the ingredients by myself.
I love the crispy chicken schnitzel with some pepper on it and also don't forget the well-cooked pasta, I use spaghetti or fettuccine. last but not least, the creamy fluffy taste of mushroom sauce! I really like the creamy yet still light-textured of the sauce also the taste of mushroom can blend well! don't forget to add cheddar cheese and a bit of mozzarella cheese to make them more creamy! This kind of taste always made me happy and lift up my mood! I really enjoy eating it. All of them combined are like food from heaven!

I love our homemade pasta sauce. We make it with onions, mushrooms, minced meat, tomato's and herbs like basil and oregano. At the end we will add some red wine and then it has to cook slowly for about 2 hours. It is real comfort food, especially in the winter. We eat is with spaghetti or it is also a great to make lasagna with this sauce. I always make it in the weekends and love the smell it give the house. The warm smell of the red wine and oregano just heaven.

For the summertime I have another favorite dish. Chicken gyros and a Greek salad with feta and Kalamata olives. I make everything fresh and when the weather is hot this is perfect meal. Pita bread and some tzazika make it perfect.

Chicken Pot Pie is one of my all time FAVORITE Recipes. It is a number one comfort food in my house and I have my own recipe where I make it in both the Instant Pot and the oven both! The chicken is so tender, the noodles and carrots get cooked to perfection and the sauce is an absolute delicious combination of chicken stock, milk and butter! Mmmmmmmm!

I like to use chicken breast and saute it to a medium tenderness in oil in my instant pot. I add garlic salt and some pepper and just let it sautee for 5-7 minutes. After the chicken is no longer pink I add some cut up carrots, crushed garlic, a tsp of better than bouillon paste and a handful of the big, wide Amish noodles to the pot with a cup of chicken broth. I set my pot for 7 minutes. The smell is divine as it is cooking!

As it cooks I prepare my crust that i put over the top of my casserole before it goes in the oven! I simply combine about a cup of flour with a large tsp of shortening and mix it together with my hands. I slowly add water until my dough pulls away from the bowl and off my hands. How much water and flour really depends on how humid it is in the house! I roll the dough out in to a circle.

After the mixture is done in the pot I do a quick release and add a whole stick of butter and about a cup of milk. You can use a cup of heavy whipping cream also if you have it. I let the butter melt and mix it all up.

I scoop the mixture in to a round casserole and pour some of the liquid it cooked in all over the top. I lay my dough over the top of the bowl and pinch it together to make a little decoration to it. I cut a few slits in the top of the dough so the steam can escape as it bakes then in the oven for about 30 minutes or until the crust is brown!

It is absolutely delicious and a true favorite here! I’m a big soup and bread lover and maybe that is why it is one of my favorites because it is both in ONE!

Give it a try! :) Christine Sawvell (Christy Ann 235)
