Description:

We did this once before and I really love the piece I received! So lets do it again in honor of the spring equinox.

the images can be anything that relates to spring for you!

This is a nice simple embroidery swap. You will stitch 2 'penny squares' approx 6"x6" in size and send them to your partner. Nothing fancy, just a nice simple swap to welcome back the light days.

Whats a penny square? "In America, dry goods stores sold 6 inch muslin squares marked with a variety of designs for a penny each. These "penny squares" are often seen incorporated into old Redwork bedspreads and linens. The patterns are usually simple line drawings."

as some people are working on these squares for a redwork quilt, please list your preference below. red work or anything goes!

as always, i will be checking profiles before assigning partners. Groups rules require a 4.9 for participation and a good history!

Ack! Drat my newbie status!!! If the planets align and my other swaps get rated before the sign-up deadline for this, I'll be so happy! This is right up my ally :)

oh I love this, only I think I'm embroidery/hand sewing overboard right now! lol

for designs though things like flowers, suns, budding trees, that kinda stuff???

luckily I have a few more days to decide!

penny squares are simply 6 x 6 inch squares, usually on white muslin or other white cotton fabric. they were then sewn into quilts etc.
