Description:

I have been re-enacting 23 years now and I'd love to meet other re-enactors from different groups/countries. I'd love to share my ideas for new costumes and rant about anything interesting, hehe. I hope I am not the only one ;)

  • In this swap you will write letter (preferably by hand, but printed one with fancy font is ok too) to ONE partner.
  • Letter should be at least 2 pages long. Tell about your hobby, what period you do, are you a member any specific group (like SCA etc) Talk about your (more interesting ;) ) historical life and leave modern worries behind.
  • Anyone with filled profile and no recent 1s and 3s can join. Newbies welcome!

Have Fun!

This is such a cool idea! The description makes it sound fun and makes me wish I could join but I know next to nothing about period acting hahah.

I find this very interesting. Is it only about the civil war periods or can it be any time line of life and or group of peoples ( Indians, Victorian era, etc.)

@naeco : This is not exactly only for period actors ( like actors in American RenFests) but more like wider variety of people. Like historical interpreters in historical tourist places (Think Williamsburg in US or several castles+battlefields in Europe), hobbyists (like SCA.org and similar groups), groups that travel historical events and 'shows off' authentic living in camps etc, Historical LARPers etc Most of us don't think they are actors ;)

@rarjones Every period of time from pre-historic times to WWII (or even later, if there is something like hippi-re-enactors etc out there) is ok. As European, I did not even think about American Civil war re-enactment (as it is not at common as European periods like Middle age etc).
