If you are like me and you like to hold on to some of your own creations BUT you like the encouragement of a partner to keep you motivated then ........... This is the swap for you!

When you sign up for this swap you are committing to create a page that is at least 5x7 inches in size (a loose page or in a book, your choice) and you will follow the assigned theme.

Round 1

Theme: My first name

(interpret as you wish: splash your name all over the page, or explain where it came from or what you wish you had been named.... your choice) You may begin creating your page immediately or wait till partners are assigned.

Partners will be assigned. By the "Mail by" date you must email your 3 partners a photo of your page (or a link to where they may see your page.... Instagram, a website or some other place.... if you choose Instagram or another site that requires an app or account creation... please consider posting elsewhere or sending an email)

Because you have to create the page (even though you don't mail them) this is a Type 3 swap.

Every couple weeks there will be a new theme.

Rate a 5 for a finished page and although not required please tell your partner what you liked about it. Please reach out to your partner if you can't find an email from them before you rate them down. Often times things go to junk mail.

Love this idea!

cynaemon 04/20/2021 #

What fun! I hope we do a bunch of these.

Virginie 04/21/2021 #

Like the idea will be fun to work on the same theme and share our pages

paperlover 04/21/2021 #

This sounds like so much fun!

Like the idea, This will be a great way to use what I have received through the Art (Junk) Journal Experiment swaps. I am being a little less creative with family issues vying for my attention and now my husband has had a heart attack today I am more stressed. Need to do some creating to relieve the tension.

I have never made a junk journal before, but I am excited! How many pages are we planning on doing?

soyprincesa2 04/26/2021 #

@amccracken109 I am new to junk journaling as well but wanted to attempt to give it a try and see what it is about. I am enjoying it so far and finding different styles and methods. I would like to do this project to get everyone started with a journal that will motivate each person to continue to create without prompts. I would like to definately do 2 layouts per month from now through the summer.

@SurfinNan I am so sorry to hear about your husband. This is so stressful and hard that you have this happening in your lives right now. welcome to this swap! We all need a distraction at times. Hugs to you and your husband.

Can you define the difference between Junk Journal and Magpie journal? Then there's glue book, and ......so many kinds of journals I'm confused about the distinctions between them!

Foxears 04/28/2021 #

This swap is such a good idea! I got really exited and inspired, which is good because I always struggle with what to do in my book.

For people posting on instagram and other social media, may I suggest we post with a unique hashtag to this swap series so people can find the work of others they don't swap with as well? Something like #swapbotjunkjournalingproject :)

I love this idea too, and will definitely join all of the swaps that @soyprimcesa2 creates. @surfinNan I’m sorry to hear about your husband,

@Foxears I am into posting on Instagram under a unique hashtag too. I’ll email to my 3 partners regardless but that would be fun .
