Description:

Not sure if this will work but I want to give the idea a try.

Have you heard of bookcrossing? I just recently heard about this website and I love the idea. Here is the official term: BookCrossing is the act of releasing your books "into the wild" for a stranger to find, or via "controlled release" to another BookCrossing member. There are currently 1,931,250 BookCrossers and 13,706,973 books travelling throughout 132 countries.

Book Crossers purposely leave their books where they think it might be picked up, and anyone is free to take it as long as they pass it on. Random acts of kindness = free books!

For this swap, let us do the same but with a twist. Make it a habit if you can for 2022.

Swap: send your one (1) partner a postcard/notecard and tell them:

- what book you left "in the wild" - date of the event - title & author. I highly suggest leaving a note for the "finder".

Bookcrossing recommends putting in a plastic baggie if you leave outside

You can give more information (to your partner) such as:

  • did you watch to see if anyone picked it up

  • have you been bookcrossing for years or this is the first time

  • did you highlight your favorite quotes in the book

  • did you leave a note or use a BookCrossing free template

  • is BookCrossing popular in your area or US state (it's really popular in Germany, Australia & US)
