Description:

This swap is to run along side the delightful daughters swap which is being run by squintgrad, i thought i would set one but for our sons. I am using the same method as Squintgrad to make it simple.

Specifics: Fill a box (at least shoe box size - what about 5"x4"x7"- or larger) with goodies that a Son might like. Check your partner's profile to see the age of her son(s).

No specific requests (unless there is an allergy involved), let your son(s) be suprised.

Because most of our sons are under 18 (I would include college students as part of the swap population), please do not include their names - simply mail the package to the mom.

Because children are involved, I'm going to be tough on the guidelines - nobody with a rating under 4.8 will be admitted, no no-sends, no newbies. Sorry, but I'd hate to see a child disappointed. It will be an international swap.

There will be one swap partner for this and let's stick to the standard $10-$15 US (before postage). And, as always, please send only nice items that you would like.

:) I kind of figured someone would pick this up for the boys. I hope everyone has fun with both - & that everyone that signs up sends!! I can just picture some 6yr old bawling because someone flaked. I cross-reference your swap on mine for those who have both sons & daughters.

What a great swap! My daughters are too young to participate in the other swap, but my 7 yr old always wants to do a swap. Thanks for starting this one.

How fun! My son is 4 and 1/2 and will love this.

My son is 12 years old.

My son will be 5 in June. He will really be excited about this swap. I am going to let him help me choose everything for our swap package. I think he will enjoy that part as much as getting a box himself! He loves animals and science. He never colors, but he loves to build things. He loves Play-doh and K'nex, stuff like that he can make anything out of.

I know we can't list a "wish list" and many of us like to surprise our partner with who we are, but I would ask that the person who gets my name (and thus my son's) contact me so we can communicate. My son is almost 16 but he is severely disabled with autism, auditory processing disorder, severe communication disorders, seizure disorders and a few other odds and ends. But he is bright and inquisitive and has certain things he loves-being autistic he ignores things he doesn't like. Whoever gets him will know the joy of suprising a boy that never gets anything in the mail, doesn't understand what it is to have a friend, and probably will make his mom cry. PM me for my email address and we can talk through email. He is a very special boy and I am thrilled to death that something has come along for him!

I think it wouldn't hurt to e-mail and ask a partner for a few ideas as i always find it difficult sometimes chosing for other children.

Hi,

My under 18 son is 11 going on 12 (Birthday is June 30, just after the send date).

hello, have asked the same question for the daughter swop...does it have to be a box?, expensive to send if international.

donnasaurus1 04/29/2007 #

What i would suggest is that at home you fill a box with the size stated and then tip out contents and then put the items in a envelope or other packaging, remember to wrap items well, maybe put in a plastic bag and then in an envelope to prevent spillages.

Austin is 8 and Alex will be 7 by the time he gets this swap. They are boys and love swaps. Even wrap the items they love the surprise even more. Dollar items are find. Just no junky toys. Love candy... No problems with anything... So no warnings on them.

Wow are we excited about this one! My son is 3.5, he is really into construction equipment, John deere tractors, anything that goes basically! He is a chocoholic, and loves sweets, but not too many please. He loves to play pretend, but we do not allow gun play in our home, however pirate stuff is okay. :)

I hate to have to do this but with the postal increases I am going to have to back out on this one. I am more than a little dismayed at what the US Postal Service is doing with the prices - it is definitely affecting my decisions on International swaps which is a shame because I really like them. Everyone have a lot of fun with this one!!

Hi,

My 4 yr old will love getting mail. He opens all the junk mail because he thinks it is his. If whoever get he wants to email me I will give you some of his likes.
