Description:

My swaps are changing for 2024, so please read the details. (This note will probably remain until March.)

Please do not comment on any swaps. SB does NOT alert hosts. Message us directly!

Because it's a project-based item, angel-ing is difficult for me. Ratings must be 4.5+ with NO 1s in the past year. Please have completed at least 5x "level 3" swaps since Jan 2023. Thanks!

One partner, USA only.

Round 5! This year, MGA will have a theme. You can interpret that theme however you want!

This rounds' theme is BOOKS. Do you want to make a book? Are you inspired by a favourite book? Do you like the Lord of the Rings aesthetic? It's up to you!

Because this is a craft-related swap, postage will likely be over 2oz and either USPS small mail or heavier envelope rate will apply. It can get unexpectedly expensive to send overseas. Sorry! US only on this one!

Also, if your package is not flat or is too heavy for the paper used for the envelope, it may not be machineable or it may tear in transit. Please make sure it's mailed appropriately. <3

This project can be done in advance so it can be done before you sign up- but make the project RECENTLY. The deadline is one week to mail out.

Make one item based on a craft or project from a Youtube video or something the other person can copy, like a tutorial that has clear photos and instructions.

You can make cards, paper dolls, sewing books, a fabric ornament, junk journal items, whatever. The project must include handmade elements. No running off printables or covering something with stickers. You can send more items if you want but it isn't required.

Since the project might take thought, getting stuff together, have to be made between 'life stuff', etc. It might be a good idea to message your partner when you send your mail, to know about when to expect it. I don't think SB alerts people when the "sent" button is clicked.

Try your best! Include your name, the Youtube creator's name/channel name, and what the project is- then I can find your video. Like Neil Gaiman said, "make good art." Any art that is made is good art. Be sure to include a note with your SB NAME and SWAP NAME inside the envelope. You may also want to give a brief note on how your item relates to the theme.

When you get an item, remember that the other person probably also did their best. Their best may not be the same as your skill level. Please rate well.

Remember that all responses should be on positive aspects of art received: did you like the colour palette used? Do you recognise a camera-related visual effect, like the 'rule of 3s'? Let the artist know!

The people on Youtube are good enough and well-practiced at what they show on camera, and that usually takes years to get that good. This swap assumes that you have not, in fact, been doing ANY of this stuff for years.

Have fun! Make mistakes! Get messy! And then mail the item out!
