Description:

Okay w/ June right around the corner, I've got weddings on the brain and so I came up w/ this swap: "Something old." "Something new." "Something borrowed." and "Something blue". Here are a few guidelines so we that we all know what to send and what to expect.

  • For something "old": Think thrift store, vintage, recycled, empherma, etc. Not old, musty, smelly, dirty, torn... junk.

  • For something "new": Look at your partners profile (and have yours properly filled out)!! Send ANYTHING "new" (as in still in the original packaging). Candy, package of notecards, stickers, pens... embellishments, anything THEY would LOVE. NEW here as in store bought. Not handmade.

  • For something "borrowed": Lets re-gift it. Something maybe you got (in a swap or otherwise) that you just can't use or haven't used. Anything you might have received thats just not your color or your style, etc. Pass it along. THIS IS THE NEW PART: Another idea would be to "borrow" something from your likes as long as its not something that your partner dislikes. Maybe a fave candy of yours or a craft or technique demonstrated that you like and/or they wish they could do. For example: I can't knit but admire those that can. I make ATCs and greeting cards but not everyone does.

  • For something "blue", I think that's obvious. Anything in any shade of blue or shades of blues. This CAN be HANDMADE but does not have to be.

Thats it! FOUR (well thought out) ITEMS to ONE PARTNER. I don't want to put a price limit but I'm thinking less than $10, more like $5 depending on what you get "new", before postage. Please make this swap something personal and specific to your partner. Lets aim for "fives" and "hearts"!! Put some LOVE into it!!!

THIS SWAP IS INTERNATIONAL and YOU ARE MAKING A COMMITMENT WHEN YOU JOIN, TO FOLLOW THROUGH.

Great idea but I don´t know what the borrowed thing would be...as when ever I get something I tend to keep it even though it´s not my style etc.As I like to think that it´s special on it´s own if someone has taken their time and effort to mail it to me.

But I´ll be watching:)

My mother in law is terminally ill and has been given days (maybe wks) left on her life. So, partners have been assigned early, so that I can get my swap out w/in the next few days. The send by date however remains the same. So please don't feel rushed or pressured. My apologies but this should not change the swap at all just the number of participants. I'm glad that you joined my swap. I'll be distracted for a lil while and will be back to swapping and hopefully hosting again soon.
