This is a US swap. 1 partner, 2 - 3 snippet strips made by you! What is a snippet strip? A snippet strip is a long, decorative collage of paper or fabric scraps, lace, and other flat embellishments (used postage stamps, die cuts, punchies, etc) attached to a base (paper, fabric or ribbon). The snippets can be stitched or glued to the backing. Simply layer small "snippets" onto a backing and glue or stitch them down. These are mixed media snippets, anything goes but don't make them too lumpy as they are designed to be accents for cards, junk journals and other paper crafts. I think of them as extended paper clusters, only much neater. Please limit your use of stickers (no white edged stickers) and washi as the snippet strips should be mostly paper, fabric, lace or ribbon. This is a great way to use up fun paper scraps. Each snipped should be at least 1/2 inch wide and 9 inches long - just the right size to mail flat in a business size envelope. Do not use a small envelope as the snippet strips should be not be folded. Edges can be straight or varied, your choice. Tutorials can be found here and here. Please send general colors and themes, senders choice but designed for use on notecards, junk journals or other paper art. If you are on IG, post a pic with the hashtag cpgswap. Ideas: | |
