Description:

This swap is for tea lovers across the globe. You won't be sending just tea though. This swap is about all of the wonderful tea accoutrements for both crafting and sipping.

You'll have two partners. Send each a tea-related package valued at about $8-$10 (US). You can send several small or inexpensive items or a single more expensive item. That's up to you. Postage does not count as part of the dollar amount.

I've been flaked on a couple of times and that's no fun at all. So this swap will be restricted to people with a 4.5 rating or higher, a completed profile and no 'no sends.' Newbies, there will be time between the day I'm posting this (May 17) and the sign-up deadline (June 17) for you to get some ratings.

Wondering what to send? Here are some ideas to get you thinking, but feel free to send any tea-related items:

a tea cozy

stickers

tea canisters

infusers

a honey dipper

teapot

rubber stamps and/or stamped images

note cards

a notepad

tongs

a teacup or mug

a tea chest

books and/or magazines

tea towels

And of course, tea can be a part of your package, but it will be an extra.

Let's keep it fun and simple. Any tea preferences you have (black, herbal, green, etc) should be in your profile, not listed here with the swap.

One week between signup date and sending date isn't much for international postings considering: a package send by airplane needs at least 7-10 days and we need time to buy the items ( love to look at the preverences from my partner )!Before I did buy many things as soon as I signed up but I had 3 cancelled swaps lately . ( did buy items for nothing :o((( ) Can't you add 1 week more ? If you do I'm in :o)

Hi lamazon:

Thanks for your post and question. In my swapping experience, shorter gaps between the close of the swap and the mail date helps people avoid forgetting (or flaking) on their swap committments. For this swap, everyone in it LOVES tea, so catering to a partner's wishes should be pretty easy.

You're absolutely right ! But for internationals, one week is very short : to go to the shops ( not near to me ) , make the package , go to the postoffice to send it and make it arrive on time . When you send from overseas ( at least 7 days by air more 10 to 14 ) it never will be on time before rating day . I do think two weeks is enough time to send it out on time and not forget the swap . Perhaps I want to do my swaps to perfectly :o)) Greetings from overseas

Yeah I'm in !!!!

I'm new here, but doing some weekend swaps so I am hoping to get reating so I can do this one. It really sounds like a great one!

Tip :If you have to send a package to Europe please wright the 7 with an extra line in the middle . Offently postmen take the overseas 7 for a 1 !

Little question : If possible can you put real stamps on the packages ? Not those ugly white postoffice things :o))) I know many stamp collectors overhere and real stamps are very rarely this days .

THANK YOU VERRRRRRRRRY MUCH

Hi there, lamazon and all participants.

I can't make any promises about the stamps, but I will give you a heads up on why you're seeing more labels instead of stamps. The U.S. Postal Service recently changed not just rates but the way packages and letters are sent out. The clerks at the post offices aren't even sure what counts as what type of mailing: letter, large envelope, parcel. We've never had the distinctions before so the best way to make sure a package headed overseas -- or even across country in the U.S. -- gets there is to go through the post office.

Just today for another swap I mailed packages to Oregon, Australia and Singapore. The clerk didn't know if the one going to Oregon (within the U.S.) should be counted as a large letter or a parcel. And the two going overseas aren't considered air mail anymore, but First-Class International. I don't know if they'll get to the destinations any faster, but the process is more confusing than ever.

I thought you'd like to know why you're seeing more white labels than stamps lately.

Received my package form kgeslab today and I am blown away by the special attention she showed by picking out the items. I received a gorgeous tea cup, saucer and matching plate. I also received a cute honey pot/bee tea infuser and a bunch of different teas. I will be posting a picture tomorrow after I get home from work as I have to go now and sleep! Talk to everyone later!
