Description:

Round 14! And thanks Thefinderofthings for the idea :) For this swap, we will be cramming flat rate boxes full of anything and everything. You want to go for miscellaneous, random, varied items.. and of course, you probably want to make it as heavy as possible.. just because you can :)

Be aware that this isn't necessarily about getting stuff you need, so if you get stuff you can't use send it to your local thrift store or re-swap it. or freecycle it. or whatever. NOTE NOTE NOTE: You will probably receive used items in this swap. That's kind of the point. Just use good judgement in sending and rating, eh?

Also-- for possible hearts-- I encourage you to have a look at your partner's profile and send things they might enjoy...

And in keeping with the original this is US ONLY. NOT INTERNATIONAL

If you have any questions, PM ME.

As far as who can join-if you are new you must have at least participated in 3 real swaps. and you must have at least a 4.5 to JOIN. i'm leaving this pretty open since we're not exactly swapping diamonds here. if you don't meet these requirements and still want to join, PM. I may make exceptions on a case-by-case basis.

Which size flat rate box?

LongVacation 07/ 3/2009 #

Is this the $10.35 flat rate box, or a different one?

Dibrittain 07/ 3/2009 #

Love to join but I keep getting flaked on in these swaps. with a 4.2 that is room to flake. Plus flat rates are not worth sending unless your swapping books or marbles.

Hi- Dibrittain I hope you've rated the partners who've flaked with 1s... as for flat rate boxes, well, that's part of the fun of the challenge... to try to find items to make it as heavy as possible.

but of course, if it would be cheaper for you to send an equivalent box that is not flat rate per se that's ok too.

I did the last one and putting it together was so much fun, but I agree... It's way too easy to get flaked on. And as we all know getting flaked on really sucks. I will watchlist and decide in a few days.

By the way, there is an upper limit in weight on the flat rates but it's tough to get to... 70 lbs is the max weight for domestic flat rate priority mail boxes.

this does look like a fun swap, but I do agree that 4.2 is way too low. I will watch, if you change rating requirements I would do it.

Laurel22 07/ 5/2009 #

Whoops. Sorry for the multiple posts.

beadeful 07/ 5/2009 #

Okay, I'm watching. I've been flaked on only once and this would be too expensive to be flaked on. "4.2." probably means a lot of ratings of 1 for not sending. I'll decide for sure when I get the reminder.

cat 07/ 5/2009 #

Hi- oops, not sure how it got back to 4.2 as I changed it awhile back in swaps to 4.5. A 4.5 is now required to join again.

Hope to see you all here. Cat

Okay, just came from the PO. There's two $10.35 sized - would it matter which one (squared (10") or longer squared(its either 12" or 13")?

beadeful 07/ 6/2009 #

Duh! Scratch my last - the larger of the two is the up to 70# one. Sorry for the comment.

cat 07/ 6/2009 #

nope- either one is fine.

Cupcakexcore 07/ 9/2009 #

If whoever get me finds a vintage or vintage style dress (size 6) or vintage hat I would be VERY happy! Thrift stores are GREAT!
