really cute idea!!! My color choices are any bright color with brown.

ThePinkPosy 07/22/2009 #

so its SENDERS choice...............correct?

crochetjunkie 07/22/2009 #

Personally I'd prefer no solid fabrics. I prefer prints if possible. Thanks!!

perkl8r 07/22/2009 #

yes, Senders choice....because it would be too hard otherwise sending two different color choices from one sender....I appologize for any confusion this may have caused...I should have thought before I hit the "create swap" button, but like I told crochetjunkie, the hand was quicker than the brain....please forgive and join for the fun of getting the only calorie free Honey Buns around! We'll do better the next round of this swap. Thank you!

NickysNickNacks 07/22/2009 #

Yes!!! This sounds like tons of fun!! I hope you have more of these swaps, so then we can end up with enough to make a quilt. So fun !! Thanks for starting this great swap!

ugachica5990 07/22/2009 #

I have no idea on how to quilt or anything, but i saw this under the new swaps, and i LOVE the name! It's so cute!! :D Good luck with it!

Maggles45 07/22/2009 #

Good one - I'll keep a watch on this for awhile. Thx

perkl8r 07/28/2009 #

Yes, to NickysNickNacks, we will be having enough of these to make a quilt, and be watching for it's partner swap TURNOVERS coming soon. We will also be having enough of the TURNOVERS swaps to make a scrappy quilt. Enjoy!

So I need to cut my honey bun strips in half length-wise and send one half strip to each of the participants?

perkl8r 08/ 3/2009 #

to caseysgal, yes, you have it right-on,! I am also making myself a batch of Honey Buns to match those I'm sending out. Thank you for your question, and I hope you enjoy this swap.

caseysgal 08/ 3/2009 #

I am so excited! I don't mind prints over solid colors, either one will be wonderful to receive. On my way to my very first quilt!!!

I am excited too! make sure to check out modabakeshop.com for projects using the honey buns and turnovers. they add new stuff all the time! also - I am hosting a fabric strip swap, but signups end the 7th so hurry over and join in!

Just so everyone knows. So there is no confusion... MODA and the Bake Shop has a different definition of honey buns. Their definition is 1.5" strips x WOF (width of fabric). Jelly Rolls are 2.5" strips x WOF. I wanted to clear this up just in case you go and try to make a project using your "honey buns." They will be referring to something completely different.

perkl8r 08/10/2009 #

imjustaguywhoquilts, yes, you are correct, and thank you for that clarification...but just for the fun of swap-but, our honey buns are special and we will always designate exactly the size of our honey buns at the first of each swap description. Folks that participate in our honey buns swap should always keep in mind that ours are different than those found in sewing shops and fabric lines. But regardless of what we call them, we can have fun collecting them and making quilts from them. Thank you again!

No problem perk. Great swaps!

potatocraft 08/12/2009 #

This looks like fun, I have tons of fabric, I'm in.

cakemaker 08/13/2009 #

sorry - I didn't realize there was a difference (blushing) This will be my first time using any honey buns - swap-bot style or moda! didn't mean to be confusing.

caseysgal 08/14/2009 #
