Description:

Hey guys I noticed there isn't really a fill-a-random-envie swap going on right now that starts soon so I figured I'd start one!

This is an international swap as postage should be rather light and you will have TWO partners.

For this swap I'm not going to specify how many items you must send of each item or how many items you must send in general. Use your own judgment. Fill a 6x9 (or bigger) envelope with various flat items. If you are having trouble coming up with ideas I think I have a list below that will help you out:

  • bookmarks (blank, store bought, or handmade)

  • envelopes

  • stationary

  • notecards (with corresponding envies)

  • postcards

  • magazine cutouts

  • ATC blanks

  • scrapbook papers

  • cardstock

  • die cuts

  • stamped images

  • stickers (loose and sheets)

  • personalized address labels

  • swap cards

  • mix CDs

  • pictures/polaroids you've taken or printed

  • paper punches

  • maps

  • paper scraps

  • valentines

  • ribbon

  • pieces of fabric

  • art(work)

  • brochures

  • comics

  • ribbon

  • crafts

  • bookplates

  • journaling pages

  • info cards/recipe cards

  • lucky star papers

  • new or used stamps

  • chipboard pieces

  • temporary tattoos

Any of these are acceptable and good ideas. I'm sure that I have forgotten some but that's to get you started.

Who can join? Well, newbies are welcome (with a filled out profile and make sure you contact me first) and seasoned swappers are welcome with a 4.9+ rating and no no-sends within the past 3 months.

Other Notes: I don't really want people commenting below and saying what items they do or don't want. Please check your partners' profile before you send your envelope though to make sure that you have not included something that they can't stand or really don't want. But please make sure to include your wishes in your profile not in the comments section.

Mostly sender's choice so go ahead and start putting together your envelopes now! My advice for hearts is to cater to your partners' profiles. Or to maybe send a bigger envelope. Or make the envelope pretty on the outside! Or all three.

Have fun most importantly. And contact me if you have any questions!

I'm a newbie, hope its ok to join! I've tried to fill out my profile pretty good. Sounds like a ton of fun, I used to do this sort of thing with another message board I was on, I had no idea there was a community for this sort of thing, fun!

How does international postage for that size envelope differ for regional?

maryhassound 10/ 5/2009 #

@mousepoo .. since you are sending from the US to the US it would be about $1.50 to oh, maybe $3.50 depending on weight obviously. and if you are sending from the US internationally i just 'calculated postage' on USPS.com and it seems like a 7 ounce package would be about $6 (more or less depending on weight). hope that helps!

ps- you can always play around with the calculate postage option on the website too.

I'm so excited - I just completely pilfered my stationary and scrapbooking and sticker stashes for this, but I think I made envelopes that I would LOVE to get, so hopefully my swapees think so, too!!
