Back by popular demand! I have received dozens of emails asking for a newbie friendly swap, so here it is! Time for you so shine newbies. You don't have to be a newbie to join either. Most are welcome!

I have a strange and interesting hobby of headstone reading. I love to visit and take photos of cemeteries and headstones. I have come across some very interesting and lovely cemeteries all over the country.

This swap you will have two partners and will send three different photos to each of a cemetery that you've visited. The photos you send should be printed on 4x6 photo paper, or printed professionally. (Walmart, Walgreens, an online photo store, etc) Please, no enhancing the photos except the regular stuff like cropping, contrast, sharpness, etc.

2 partners x 3 photos=6 photos total

This swap is open to those that have a 4.8 rating or higher. Newbies welcome with a well filled out profile, I will be checking profiles!! Absolutely no no-sends and NO FLAKERS!

Please be creative. This will be open throughout the winter and ending shortly after the holidays.

PM if you have concerns, issues, or questions.

So no black and whites?

ladydy5 10/21/2009 #

Have you looked at cemeteries lately?

stiffneck78 10/21/2009 #

Yes, black and white photos are fine. I forgot to mention that.

lucky13 11/10/2009 #

thank you, thank you, thank you! i have been waiting for this one! <3

stonekeepers 11/18/2009 #

looking forward to this one. cemeteries are some of the greatest places to get great photos.

pxlmusic 12/ 1/2009 #

I have a surprise headstone for my partner.

This is going to be fun :D

mandylifeboats 12/ 1/2009 #

i am not really interested in this sort of thing, but i live 5 min from salem, mass and there is a cemetery called the burying point from the year 1637 containing the graves of a Mayflower pilgrim and witchcraft trial judge John Hathorne. i am going to salem saturday. i could take a pic and post it somewhere for you. just tell me where.

mandylifeboats 12/ 1/2009 #

oh here is the link from the cemetery above: http://www.gravematter.com/cem-ma-salem.asp

carahgus 12/ 2/2009 #

I live in Poland, where the cemetaries are amazing (and old)! I will join so I can share.

ralphawilson 12/ 3/2009 #

Sounds great. BTW, I was photographing in a cemetery in Queens, New York this year and was most firmly told by a tough looking employee that such was not allowed! Anyone ever encounter such a thing? Luckily I had already taken many.

angelstar 12/ 4/2009 #

Thanks mandylifeboats for putting up the link to the cemetery photos from Salem, MA.

I was there this past summer. I didn't visit any cemeteries though.

In 2002, or thereabouts, my daughter and I were heading for Salem from Topsfield and got lost and ended up seeing an old very small cemetery in, I think, Peabody. Is that the town next to Salem? I guess my daughter has the pictures somewhere, but she's in L.A. I'll have to get them from her one day.

fullmoongirl 12/ 5/2009 #

I have this strange hobby too, just love cemeteries! This will be a great swap.

michelejeanne 12/ 6/2009 #

Check out these sites: www.gravestonegirls.com and www.gravestonestudies.org. I attended a lecture put on by the Grave Stone Girls last month - fascinating!!!

EvilSeedlet 12/ 7/2009 #

I wish I still lived in Ohio for this.. some really nice, super old cemeteries there. The one in our down dates back to the late 1800's though. not too bad. I think I will try to find a mix of new and old headstones to share :)

audie1016 12/14/2009 #

do they have to be 4x6 or can they be a larger size ? also can i enclose info about the picture?

michelejeanne 12/14/2009 #

I would certainly like info on mine. The last cemetary swap, I received photos without any explanation about them at all!

psychobella 12/15/2009 #

hi...im new here. do i need to contact the coordinator to let her know i want to join?

carahgus 12/15/2009 #

For those who live in places that don't follow inches, the conversion from 4 X 6 is 10.16 cm X 15.24 cm :)

angiecamp 12/17/2009 #

a definate cemetery junkie- can't wait to send and get my pics!!

Tinabear 12/17/2009 #

Hopefully this can be my first swap, this is right up my alley!

stiffneck78 12/22/2009 #

Yes, photos can be larger than 4x6 and yes, please put some info about the photo.

Thank you all for your great comments and sharing info. I appreciate it! Have a great holiday season and PM me with any questions. Thanks again!

Lhise 12/31/2009 #

Hi! :o) I am French and new to the site. I want to participate, but have no ratings yet. My profile is not completed because English is difficult for me. I'll write slowly. But if you want to know me better, you can look at my blog (it's written in French, but there are lots of photos!). I hope to join!

nelliebugsdotcom 01/ 2/2010 #

Just finished taking our pics today, can't wait to find out who my partners are!

nelliebugsdotcom 01/ 2/2010 #

Can we send more than 3?

natasha 01/ 2/2010 #

Going out tomorrow to take my pics. :)

gteapot 01/ 3/2010 #

disappointed, just checked my files and seems I've lost my west point cemetary photo, would have love to share them. I have some great cemetaries by me and ton's of pictures. Can't wait to share and receive mine. Unfortunately, West Point does not allow you to just go to the Cemetary anymore, I'll get some during special Olympics in May if this is done again.

EvilSeedlet 01/ 4/2010 #

Woohoo! Swappin' time! I'll have to get some nice pics before all the snow melts.

angelstar 01/ 6/2010 #

To nelliebugsdotcom: and anyone else interested. Yes, you can certainly send more than three. I already sent mine and I sent 5. I did that for the last one as well and that was fine. I did try to keep it so I only had to use one first class stamp.

TeaNi 01/ 7/2010 #

Mailed mine out today to @stiffneck78 & @Ariel17

Morte 01/12/2010 #

Weird hobby nothin, I live in a cemetery. No, really, I live in the caretakers cottage at Bohemian National Cemetery in Chicago. I suppose it's kind of cheating for me then since all I have to do is wander around in my front yard, but there are so many beautiful headstones that I could send 100 pictures to each of my partners and still not have even tipped the iceberg....

nelliebugsdotcom 01/20/2010 #

I didn't give any info on the pictures I sent out -- sorry. I will do that next time. :) My partner sent me a cute little booklet it was really nice. Waiting patiently for my second set! Did everyone get some cool pictures?

@Morte I'd love to set up a private swap if you're interested - just send me a message!

isabellasnow 01/20/2010 #

I had a WONDERFUL time taking these photos! Being in the cemetaries was so peaceful. I felt a reverence just being there. MANY thanks for this swap and I hope we'll have more of these swaps.

YellowMiata 01/21/2010 #

This swap has been so much fun for me !! I took some great photos and even found a gangster in my local cemetary ! Frank Nash is in the Mausoleum in the city that I live in !! I would love to do some private swaps if anyone is interested. My emai address is [email protected] or you can PM me.

pxlmusic 01/26/2010 #
