Description:

This is a bit of an ambitious swap, so I'm not sure how much interest there will be. I love ATC swaps. But I would rather make several ATCs for one person than one ATC for several people. So I'd like to do a 'Few partners, lotsa ATCs' swap.

For this swap, you will have one (1) partner, but you will send them nine (9) ATCs and something to store those ATCs in. This could be a 9-slot trading card page (this is the easiest way to protect them during shipping as well.) or a mini accordion book of mini ATC envelopes, or individual sleeves pasted onto a decorated sheet of cardstock, etc.

They can be 9 totally unrelated cards, or 3 each of 3 themes, etc. It's totally up to you.

Since we're only going to have one partner, this is an international swap. Nine ATCs will probably weigh about 3 ounces, so expect to pay as much as a few dollars in postage if you get an international partner.

Swap Commandments:

Thou shalt follow the basic guidelines of ATCs. Artist Trading Cards must be 3.5x2.5 inches and not be very thick (they must fit into standard trading card page pockets). They must also be sturdy enough to stand alone as a piece of art (thick cardstock at least)

Thou shalt protect your cards from the devil (i.e. Post Office.) These ATCs should be packaged in a 9 slot trading card page. Then fold your page into thirds and use a regular letter sized envelope reinforced with cardstock or a bubble envelope. (If you choose to do a different storage method for your ATCs, please make sure you package it to protect them.)

Thou shalt not participate if thou hast not a good rating. Only swappers with a rating of at least 4.75 from a minimum of 3 different swaps and at least 2 different swappers may participate. New swappers may participate if they do the following: 1. Contact me BEFORE signing up; 2. Provide a link to another site (Ebay, ETSY, etc.) where they have a longer history; and 3. Have a fully complete profile here on swap-bot.

Thou shalt not participate if thou are unwilling to send to a country other than your own. This one is self explanatory.

Thou shalt go forth and (pro)create. Sorry...I couldn't resist. :-)

That's it. Email me with any questions

I love the commandments!!! I really wish I could do this one but at the moment the Mega atc swap is enough. Maybe if I'm good and finish that one up VERY soon I can join this one.

the post office is the devil!!! that makes me giggle because it is sooooo true! :)

LINBUR0100 06/22/2007 #

Hi Vivica. I hope you will be able to participate. I didn't sign up for the second ATC Mega swap because I didn't want to have 20 individual partners with only 1 ATC each. I did the US version, since it only cost one book of stamps, but with international rates up to .90 cents, that's potentially almost a dollar per person!

LINBUR0100 06/26/2007 #

Hi. Merri Amelie. The post office is MOST Definitely the devil. But then you probably already knew that.

Glad to have you in the swap.

Cocoa 06/28/2007 #

Do you make the 9 slot trading card page?

LINBUR0100 06/30/2007 #

Hi Cocoa. You don't need to make the page, but if you want to, and you were my partner, I'd DEFINITELY give you a heart. :-)

It can be a basic 9 sleeve trading card page. I just find that these protect them through the mail, and since we're doing 9 cards, it also provides a little bit of a guarantee that you will have all nine of your cards stored in you partners collection on a single page.

I would love to join this swap but I can't find 9-slot ATC sleeves anywhere! I have individual sleeves - are these ok?? I could mount these on some decorated card or something, but I don't know if that counts?

boatingbelle 07/10/2007 #

Mojo, I don't know if you have these shops where you are but in UK there shops which cater for collectors of cards such as game cards or Pokeimon.( My daughter calls them 'Geek Shops') You can buy the 9 pocket pages from there and they fit into a standard A4 ring binder. Hope this is of some use to you, regards, Margot.

Mojo 07/10/2007 #

Oh, like comic book shops? I don't think there are many around here, but I found some on ebay so I'm sorted!!

LadySarah 07/11/2007 #

ehm... I'd love to take part in here, but there's one big problem: here in Germany there are no "9-slot trading card pages" purchasable. Not any things for storing ATCs at all, because ATCs aren't very popular in Germany.

But I don't like to risk a bad rating because of that - what can I do in that case? any ideas?

boatingbelle 07/11/2007 #

Sorry I had to drop out of this after all, too many cards to make and not enough time. Good swapping to the rest of you.

Regards, Margot.

LadySarah and Mojo, please go ahead and participate. If you cannot find 9-sleeve pages, just put together some sort of nice thing to hold the ATCs. I really liked the idea of putting the individual pockets onto a page. Or you could make little mini envelopes for them and put those on a page or in an accordion book, etc. I'm changing the swap description to say that you should send them in a 9-sleeve page OR some other storage method (i.e. the accordion book, etc.) So I hope this will put your minds at ease and you'll still be able to participate.

i finally found some 9 slot trading card sheets, i walked round loads of artshops and stationary shops and cudnt find them n e where and i finally found them in wh smiths at a very cheap price for 5 of them so my cards are all packaged up and ready to post soon as partners are assigned

mammi53 07/14/2007 #

This sounds like fun. I like the idea of getting a lot of cards from one person.

LINBUR0100 07/15/2007 #

Partners have been assigned. Let's all have fun!

Uh, for some reason, our sign up date now says November 1999! I have no idea how that happened, but it looks like the swap date is still correct so hopefully it won't affect anything. If anyone has any problems with their partners or anything else technical please let me know.
